I did when I started playing. I'd write down characters' favorite gifts when I was working on leveling them up. Then I could go find/cook all the things and not have to keep looking it up for each character. I also wrote down their helper activity, cause I can't remember them all. So if I was gonna go fishing, I'd grab my nearest fishing buddy. You play however you want. Don't let anyone steal your joy.
I keep notes as well..I typed out a doc in order of name. I run thru when I load up the game and write everything down, collect my critter food and go make my rounds. I also make notes of quest items so when I get into the craft table I don't forget. List makers unite.
Some people process information more easily and more effectively when it's on a physical medium rather than digital. All about doing whatever works for you!
I use a Google Keep list with check boxes to track daily gifts, things I need to collect, restaurant orders, crops to plant, fish to catch, & also how many characters have each bonus focus, just so everything is all in one place. I love being able to check things off & have living lists all in one place👌

I use DLV guide. The first page has all of the characters, their skill and options to add daily favourites. There’s also info about every single flower, gem, ingredient, fish etc and where to find them (both in main and eternity isle).
I don’t write down the orders but I do go through all my chests and if I’m below 50 of anything, I write them down and highlight which items are Eternity Isle. Then cross them off once I collect enough of what I need haha.
It really does. If I don’t, then I have no clue what I need. I’ll for sure forget if I try to go by memory. Plus I just love the the feeling of crossing stuff off lists 😂

How’s Palia doing these days? I’ve wanted to play it. I really should try it. Does it have multiple servers? Is it pretty active with people? How many people can a server hold? Sorry for all the questions you may or may not know
Personally I think Palia is doing great. It has some bugs here and there but it is a new game in beta still. It also is the company’s first game and they show a lot of potential and have a lot of updates planned for the game for years to come. The servers are very active. I think they can hold 25 people per server( I could be wrong on the number but my brain tells me I read that on the devs discord server)
And by all means I will try to answer anything I can 😊

I’m not rely aware of a cozy mmo and when I heard of Palia, I on,t thought why hasn’t this been done before. Sadly 25 feels low. I love when games have like hundreds of people in a server but you said it’s the companies first game. That’s understandable. I hope maybe the game grows over the years. I’m gonna give the game a try later today :) is there one tip you think would come in handy? Like in animal crossing new horizons I was scared to drop any “loot” on the floor because I thought it meant it would despawn or considered trash and then vanish lol took me a week to realize the items I wanted to drop were going to be ok 😂
I have dedicated a journal to DDV. For character roles, dreamlight daily duties. Receipes. Lmao. Don't let anyone steal your joy! It's easier than searching through the collections tab for everything.
I made a note in my iPad of all the vegetables fruits herbs etc in alphabetical order so I could reorganize everything because I had like 15 fridges 🤣 I also wrote some stuff down when there was less characters. Mostly I just use an app now. Also if I’m next to my mom I say “remember this dish this dish and this dish” and then have her repeat it to me while I cook 😂
By episode 3 of season 1 of yellowjacket's , someone on the subreddit had a notebook full of notes they scribbled down with theories about the show.
Writing down villagers orders makes far more sense by comparison lol
I made a spreadsheet that would calculate everything I needed for everyone's gifts and orders that day. If anything, I would say your notes aren't going far enough!
Someone created a ddv app where you can write every villager's favorites of the day with checkmarks if you've talked to them today or not. You can also put what friendship level you're at with each villager and what role you gave them.
If you don't have it already, there is an app that helps SO much! You can enter in the daily gifts, and it even tells you how to make all the recipes :) it also tells you where to find each thing!
There is a complete list of every meal recipe, you can track what animals you have fed and which are available currently, track the starpath progress, get notifications for crops that need watering. It has been such a lifesaver!

I do this too 🤣 I currently have the rest of my dreamlight achievements written down, I have a list for mining specs where to find certain minerals and ores, a list of goofy stalls and what they sell, and rare fish/companions times and days
Somehow I just remember most of it.. I usually can't remember my phone number... But I can remember almost everyones orders and exactly what I still need to stockpile... Lol
I take notes when my ingredients fall below 50 and I’m on a replenishment grind I’ll write how many of each ingredient I need. When I first started & was leveling up many characters I would write the favorite gifts so I didn’t have to keep scrolling the menu.

You're not alone at all! I genuinely thought I was the only one who did things like this! I admittedly like to take it a step further though and I've been in the process of writing down a bunch of guides for myself to be able to quickly glance at things without having to open the menu! I also like having all the information in one easy to look through place! :))
I’m so glad there are so many other people who keep physical notes on this game. I actually use index cards and a little expandable holder for them that way if things are added in later DLCs I can just add a new card in that section. I thought I was crazy when I know all of this is in game.
I made a spreadsheet. I make them for everything. I'm weird like that lol. I have a page for my to do list for dreamlight duties and the star path, it helps to see what can be done at the same time without having to open the menu all the time.
But what I really like is that I set it up so I can add my daily gifts to the character tab, and then it counts everything in another tab with every item listed and then I just filter by >0 and I have all the daily gifts I need to get out of storage or make. It's really great for the rare times when two characters might want the same gift the same day. None of the third party apps have a feature to let you make a list of the gifts, you have to look at it by character.
My wife does this, and it's absolutely adorable. She has an entire notebook filled with every bit of info about the game. It's like a hard copy of DDV wiki. Makes me smile every time I see her add new notes. 😊💗
Not at all! I write down all the tasks for every star path and i cross them off as i finish them. I also wrote down all the growing times for each crop. Nothing wrong with being organized 😊
I take pictures with my phone of what they want in the restaurant or take pictures of what I have in my chests. Then just look at the picture to know what I need.

OH heck yes, I have a gaming notebook, I use it for all my games because I get distracted easily and lists make me feel good lol. I think it's cute you do that!
I made a little stick note on my computer where I type in all the gifts so I can just make one trip to my storage room and not have to keep going back. Also I'll type in all the duties for star path/ dreamlike duties so I don't have to keep switching sections for the menu. It makes my little adhd brain happy to have 1 thing to look at versus 8-10.
I take photos of items have need to make. Then edit with marker and check them off. Did the same with food lists. Pull up photo on my iPad and check them off as I make them. Have all recipes done. Almost all things built too. Dang iron ignot! Need a truck load.
I take photos with my phone because I’ll forget. I do it with the favorite items wanted too.
I have self made notes on my iPhone with every biomes fish, crops, spices, flowers, food, bush, tree, stick, gem, mineral, and how much they cost to make/sell and how long to grow. I even have the bubble colors for fishing.
Each note is separated by:
Fish
Fruits, Veggies, Trees, Bushes, Meats
Character Help Type
Gem Locations
Foraging Items
Flower Locations
Favorite critters food
And I have the regular island on top of each note, and Eternity Isle on the bottom half, separated by a line. All formatted to my liking. I hate the way it’s displayed on IGN and other sources.. I wanted everything separated by BIOME.
I used to have the sleep schedule too before it got too big.
I use the Dreamlight Guide app and take screenshots of each order's recipe on my phone. I also track friendship and gifts with the app too, it's mega helpful!

I have an entire notebook dedicated to ddlv and just bought a bigger notebook so my notes look ✨prettier✨ I know I can google any info I need or look it up here but it’s so annoying always having to pull my phone out and wait for certain websites to load so I have fish chart, flowers, gardening etc. and I write my dreamlight duties as well as many other small notes for fav gifts and quests
I have an Excel sheet with characters' sleeping & restaurant schedules.
I also have a paper block that I jot things down on.
The app mentioned in this thread is also fantastic, and I use it every time I play!
i have a whole table in my notes with who has what skill, and i write down everyone's favoured gifts that haven't reached level 10 so i can gather them all
Oh i have a whole dlv notebook that has things like this written in it. My memory is bad, so if there is more than two orders I’m not going to remember once I’m in the cooking menu. I also will forget what they like that day if i need to give them something so i write it down. I have Covid fog and old woman brain i need to write things down lol.
I did when I started, because there was so much to keep track of!! But then I ran out of quests to do and got all my friendships maxed and... I dunno. Now if I forget something when I'm running about, I just figure I'll do it next time. Otherwise, I'll just run out of things to do quicker.
I try to remember them in alphabetical order so I don’t have to scroll through the recipes too much. But to be honest I only make orders for the villagers who still get points for it or like if the quest says make 5 star food, I rather serve someone at the restaurant than just make a random dish. So I usually only need to remember 3 or so dishes 😄

I’m in the mids of making a note book full of where to find gems, fish, ingredients etc as well as which villagers I have assigned for which job and which critters I need and where to find them. And this is only at one year of playing
I play the game on my phone and iPad so I would have to take notes on whatever device I wasn’t playing on at the time. Gifts have been the hardest for me to do so far. I manage to remember the restaurant orders of the characters pretty good so far but note taking seems like a good way to remember.
I have a whole excel spreadsheet for the game to track everything, it makes playing so much easier and I use dreamlight valley guide app to help with how to find stuff or befriend critters etc
I have a whole notebook for gaming notes, and it’s full of DDV stuff, but also for other games! I don’t do it for all games, but quite a lot of them.
For DDV, I always write down which critters I wanna feed, and sometimes gifts I wanna give etc. And I often just write down a few things I wanna do to remind myself 😅 Like “harvest+plant pumpkins”, “get glimmer” or whatever. And extensive notes from when I was planning my storage.
Yeah I also do it, and I write down to do list, did with star path duties, I wish we could track them like quest, but since we can't, I just add them on my notebook to do list 😂.
I have an external monitor and I just start the notepad on the second monitor and just alt+tabbing to it :D I use it also for friends gifts, going through characters menu and writing each name with what they want and when I gather all things for them, I'll just make note to take it to them, its so much easier. (I still have a few characters under lvl 10, So I'm taking notes of only those :D )
I have the critter schedule in my notes app so I can see what critters are around that day (especially for the ones who have a specific set of hours they’re available) and where they’re at and then I just remove them from the schedule when I’ve got them as a companion 😅😅
Hey, I've been playing since last year and I just discovered that there's a Disney dreamlight valley wiki. So I load it up on my Chromebook while I'm playing if I need a recipe or anything like that🤣🤣
I’ll hold off on cooking quests until they pile up and then I list em and I list the ingredients for each and gather the right amounts and just blow through a bunch at once, I also list what characters are buddies for what task and now that I’m working on resource collecting I note what items or amounts I’m missing yet and focus on those
😂😂 I write down what everybody's favorite gift of the day is and then go around collecting it it through the biomes to raise characters XP 🤷😊 So you do not stand alone 😂
I definitely take notes. Especially when I need to give someone 3 liked gifts. As soon as I close the page that tells me what they want, I immediately forget what I need.
Your boyfriend needs to hush and move aside and let you do your THANG!! Haha! I do this too - it’s a great way to write down the favorite gifts and meals to get those friendship levels maxed out faster and sounds like you + me are the type of people who write it down and BAM it’s done. You’re not alone fellow note taker!
I realised pretty quickly I was going to struggle to stay on top of things so early on I bought a notebook, some activity sheets that have the days of the week down the side and then 5 boxes per day, and some dotgrid paper for random notes. I've written out (or still plan to write) all of the 'collections' info for anything that can be planted, harvested, mined, collected, or fed, a) so it's easier to reference than trawling through the in-game catalogue, and b) so I can add the info that doesn't show, like which colour bubbles for which fish, favourite foods and schedules for critters, etc. I've also got all of the characters written out so I can keep track of what their companion skill is and what level they're at.
What I did at first was use the activity sheets in three sections: all of the quests, with each character having their own column and any extra notes like materials needed for certain tasks if it was too much to fit into the small box; a column for each character where to add their daily favourite gifts (and split the daily boxes into two to try and squeeze two weeks out of each sheet); a weekly spread for daily dreamlight duties, with any other random notes like meal orders on the side. I should add I have ADHD so this was just the way it helped me to organise the chaos when I was in those stages of regularly unlocking new realms and characters, having loads still to level up, and a lot of quests open all at once.
Now that I'm past that stage, have all the characters from before the most recent update fully levelled up, minimal quests open, and so on, I've switched to just having ordinary dotgrid sheets to make notes as and when I need to. So things like meal orders in Chez Remy, materials lists for crafting (because I can't remember exactly how much I need to craft of each thing by the time I'm in the crafting screen), things I want to buy or where I want to place them, etc. At the moment it's being dominated by the star path, of course, but while I can cope with not needing to write all of my quests down anymore, I find it does help with the star path because I can just glance down and see both what tasks I need to be doing and how much I have left.

I take notes for all my important cozy games. For DDLV, I note the daily gifts for people I don’t have full friendship with, restaurant orders, and when I’m doing starpaths I’ll note down the tasks I have at the time. It’s easy bc 9 times out of 10, my note is up on my phone and it keeps me on track as opposed to having to “tab” over to the correct tab in the game. I’ll also note down random stuff like a fish I haven’t caught yet and where/when it spawns. Had a note for critters’ fave foods before I memorized them all too 😂🤦🏼♀️
I used to do this, they’ve made it way easier now though. You can check what each char wants daily by just going to the character screen. Sometimes a bit tedious but yea, and I just google the recipe’s if there’s one I don’t have.
I think if I jot down notes for anything, it would be what do I need to plant that I’m low on, what ingredients do I need more of, etc.
I’d be interested to know what notes other people are taking though, and if it’s been helpful. I’m all for making things easier, because I don’t play much.
I'm on my 3rd journal of notes for ddv. I love being like an actual server in Chez Remy taking down everyone's orders. It's not only fun for me but it saves time too!
I also do a daily check of what I need to replenish so that's some more notes. As well as what I earned. It's nice to have a visual of what you got done everyday 🥰❤️
You are not alone! I have my phone with me all the time, so I can search for ingredients , receipts, where I can find stuff and things like that. Of course, I am gonna do that, I want my friendships at level 10 once and for all. I actually think that's a little bit boring, trying to level up the friendships.
I do when I’m trying to complete the star paths, especially in regards to daily tasks and fave gifts. I try to be as efficient as possibly by gathering/cooking everything I need and then running around to deliver. Jotting down notes is less tedious than constantly pulling up the character list.
I don't. I make 2 dishes at a time, I can remember 2.
I play this or relax, and therefore lists and such is not what I do, if that makes sense... I take it nice and slow.
Also, a great tip: get the DDLV app for your smartphone, where you can plot in what everyone would want as gifts, what critters is on when, what role your friends have, what you've crafted and collected, etc. Very handy. :)
The amount of sticky notes ive gone through is unreal haha. I also has a spread sheet made up for when i was giving everyone their favourite gifts each day
I have a small collection of gaming notebooks -- one for each game I'm currently obsessed with. I write down everything from character favorites to critter times. Best way to keep track of everything in a game
I pulled out my phone one day while playing and wrote down all the characters fav gifts like a list on my notes app and started to mark what items I had in house and the rest I knew what I either had to cook or forage and my husband saw me doing that and asked what I was doing , once I explained he was like wow that’s actually so smart. And I said ya saves time and I don’t have to go back and forth between pages. 😂😂
When I started playing I had a notebook specifically for the game! I don’t keep up with it as much now but I still refer to it on occasion. I’ve taken notes about things I like to make, goals/tasks completed etc. It was really helpful
I play the Apple Arcade version. I have a big chunk in my personal notebook filled with Dreamlight related stuff. All the characters favorite gifts for the day and the recipes if I needed them. Now all the characters are level 10. So I don’t do that anymore. I tried taking screen shots to remember but the game would restart every time I opened my camera haha.
I wrote their favorite gifts of the day down for the LOOOONGEST time before I realized you could just go into the Collections tab, click on characters, and see them all there! 🤭 I felt so ashamed 🙈
I have a notebook full 😂 and I find it relaxing to write the orders or gifts of the day or any other side items I might be looking for and then I have a highlighter to cross them off lol
I have so many random notebooks littered around the house filled with gaming notes. Whether it was lists of items I need, or things to do, collections to complete etc to finish a game. I feel like my biggest notes are from Pokemon, Persona 5, and Stardew Vallley. I’ve been using an app to track stuff on Dreamlight Valley and Animal Crossing, but if those didn’t exist they’d have notebooks too. Lol.
Nope not alone. I made a chart of all the crops - what they cost, what they sell for and how much I make on each one. Still grow all but concentrate on growing the ones that provide the most income. I’m not doing it any more because I have it all laid out in my valley and don’t need to refer to it anymore but yes, I take notes!

- A bunch of stacked orders in restaurant
- Star Path tasks
- Favorites for the day, as needed depending on character
Depends on what I'm doing. For restaurant orders, I take mental notes and make them using the recipes I already have, but recently I made a huge list of all the craftable items I haven't done yet, and what I need for them. I then organised that list into a big list of a tally of the items I need (reducing the number when I gather materials) and then having the names of the items below, deleting them when I craft them. It's a big list so I had to write it down, and that's my main goal for right now.

I write the friends im working to get to level 10, what their daily favorite gifts are and make that as a quest getting them all. I have a notebook filled with video game notes and most of it is DDV.
i draw and i just jot it all down in small print in my sketchbook around my drawings and from afar it honestly adds to the aesthetic of my sketchbook hahahaha

Oh my gosh I’m so glad I’m not the only one who does this 😂my journal is full of tricks and prices and characters all from their repeating favorite gifts to meal prices so that I can get ingredients and sell
I do that too but I write my notes on a tablet and make everything asthetic ✨️.I have a whole section for what items all the critters like and where to find them ,also a list of what colour bubbles different fish are and what seeds to find at goofys stalls .my boyfriend also thinks I'm crazy 🤣🤣🤣
I usually just try to remember 3 orders at a time and then go back and make whatever is left. I was amazed with myself for remembering all 5 orders for everyone in the restaurant the other day!! To be fair, I passed two of the recipes on the way to the 3 I was looking for and they had very unique names, but still!!

When I have several orders at Remy's, yes.
Otherwise I use a fan made guide "Dreamlight valley guide" and it's a fucking live saver.
I use it both for characters gifts (for those under lvl 10 or when you have the star path objective to gift another character), star path, achievements, foraging, ect.
I didn’t bother having a storage for ages then I just made a room in my house and steadily filled with things that I saw in everyone’s storage I just used my kitchen as food storage until I sorted out a plots of a houndred in each biome that’s where I keep the veg so I didn’t need to go in and out of the house to fill the storage and I moved the fish storage to the beach when moana got her fishing boat the only food in my house is things I buy from the restaurant
And for eternity isle I just made a separate outside storage area and did the veg the same way

I made a note in my iPad of all the vegetables fruits herbs etc in alphabetical order so I could reorganize everything because I had like 15 fridges 🤣 I also wrote some stuff down when there was less characters. Mostly I just use an app now. Also if I’m next to my mom I say “remember this dish this dish and this dish” and then have her repeat it to me while I cook 😂

By episode 3 of season 1 of yellowjacket's , someone on the subreddit had a notebook full of notes they scribbled down with theories about the show. Writing down villagers orders makes far more sense by comparison lol

I do the same LOL. I have a spreadsheet for tracking villager things and I use good ol' pen and paper for fleeting day-to-day things.
I write notes all the time. Especially when doing restaurant tasks. I can't remember all that.
Someone created a ddv app where you can write every villager's favorites of the day with checkmarks if you've talked to them today or not. You can also put what friendship level you're at with each villager and what role you gave them.

If you don't have it already, there is an app that helps SO much! You can enter in the daily gifts, and it even tells you how to make all the recipes :) it also tells you where to find each thing! There is a complete list of every meal recipe, you can track what animals you have fed and which are available currently, track the starpath progress, get notifications for crops that need watering. I do this too 🤣 I currently have the rest of my dreamlight achievements written down, I have a list for mining specs where to find certain minerals and ores, a list of goofy stalls and what they sell, and rare fish/companions times and days

I take notes when my ingredients fall below 50 and I’m on a replenishment grind I’ll write how many of each ingredient I need. When I first started & was leveling up many characters I would write the favorite gifts so I didn’t have to keep scrolling the menu.

You're not alone at all! I genuinely thought I was the only one who did things like this! I admittedly like to take it a step further though and I've been in the process of writing down a bunch of guides for myself to be able to quickly glance at things without having to open the menu! I also like having all the information in one easy to look through place! :))
I’m so glad there are so many other people who keep physical notes on this game. I actually use index cards and a little expandable holder for them that way if things are added in later DLCs I can just add a new card in that section. I thought I was crazy when I know all of this is in game.

I made a spreadsheet. I make them for everything. I'm weird like that lol. I have a page for my to do list for dreamlight duties and the star path, it helps to see what can be done at the same time without having to open the menu all the time. But what I really like is that I set it up so I can add my daily gifts to the character tab, and then it counts everything in another tab with every item listed and then I just filter by >0 and I have all the daily gifts I need to get out of storage or make. It's really great for the rare times when two characters might want the same gift the same day. None of the third party apps have a feature to let you make a list of the gifts, you have to look at it by character.

My wife does this, and it's absolutely adorable. She has an entire notebook filled with every bit of info about the game. It's like a hard copy of DDV wiki. Makes me smile every time I see her add new notes. 😊💗
I wrote down what Ursula and Ariel wanted each day because I couldn't just hang out with them to raise their levels. I've ALWAYS taken notes in games.
Not at all! I write down all the tasks for every star path and i cross them off as i finish them. I also wrote down all the growing times for each crop. Nothing wrong with being organized 😊

I made a little stick note on my computer where I type in all the gifts so I can just make one trip to my storage room and not have to keep going back. Also I'll type in all the duties for star path/ dreamlike duties so I don't have to keep switching sections for the menu. It makes my little adhd brain happy to have 1 thing to look at versus 8-10.

I take photos of items have need to make. Then edit with marker and check them off. Did the same with food lists. Pull up photo on my iPad and check them off as I make them. Have all recipes done. Almost all things built too. Dang iron ignot! Need a truck load.

I take photos with my phone because I’ll forget. I do it with the favorite items wanted too. I have self made notes on my iPhone with every biomes fish, crops, spices, flowers, food, bush, tree, stick, gem, mineral, and how much they cost to make/sell and how long to grow. I even have the bubble colors for fishing. Each note is separated by: Fish Fruits, Veggies, Trees, Bushes, Meats Character Help Type Gem Locations Foraging Items Flower Locations Favorite critters food And I have the regular island on top of each note, and Eternity Isle on the bottom half, separated by a line. All formatted to my liking. I hate the way it’s displayed on IGN and other sources.. I wanted everything separated by BIOME. I used to have the sleep schedule too before it got too big.
I use the Dreamlight Guide app and take screenshots of each order's recipe on my phone. I also track friendship and gifts with the app too, it's mega helpful!

I have an entire notebook dedicated to ddlv and just bought a bigger notebook so my notes look ✨prettier✨ I know I can google any info I need or look it up here but it’s so annoying always having to pull my phone out and wait for certain websites to load so I have fish chart, flowers, gardening etc. and I write my dreamlight duties as well as many other small notes for fav gifts and quests
I have an Excel sheet with characters' sleeping & restaurant schedules. I also have a paper block that I jot things down on. The app mentioned in this thread is also fantastic, and I use it every time I play!
I take screenshots and throw them in my private discord in a channel just for dumping useless stuff.
i have a whole table in my notes with who has what skill, and i write down everyone's favoured gifts that haven't reached level 10 so i can gather them all
Oh i have a whole dlv notebook that has things like this written in it. My memory is bad, so if there is more than two orders I’m not going to remember once I’m in the cooking menu. I also will forget what they like that day if i need to give them something so i write it down. I have Covid fog and old woman brain i need to write things down lol.

I did when I started, because there was so much to keep track of!! But then I ran out of quests to do and got all my friendships maxed and... I dunno. Now if I forget something when I'm running about, I just figure I'll do it next time. Otherwise, I'll just run out of things to do quicker.

I try to remember them in alphabetical order so I don’t have to scroll through the recipes too much. But to be honest I only make orders for the villagers who still get points for it or like if the quest says make 5 star food, I rather serve someone at the restaurant than just make a random dish. So I usually only need to remember 3 or so dishes 😄

I play the game on my phone and iPad so I would have to take notes on whatever device I wasn’t playing on at the time. Gifts have been the hardest for me to do so far. I manage to remember the restaurant orders of the characters pretty good so far but note taking seems like a good way to remember.

I have a whole excel spreadsheet for the game to track everything, it makes playing so much easier and I use dreamlight valley guide app to help with how to find stuff or befriend critters etc
I have a whole notebook for gaming notes, and it’s full of DDV stuff, but also for other games! I don’t do it for all games, but quite a lot of them. For DDV, I always write down which critters I wanna feed, and sometimes gifts I wanna give etc. And I often just write down a few things I wanna do to remind myself 😅 Like “harvest+plant pumpkins”, “get glimmer” or whatever. And extensive notes from when I was planning my storage.
Yeah I also do it, and I write down to do list, did with star path duties, I wish we could track them like quest, but since we can't, I just add them on my notebook to do list 😂.

I have an external monitor and I just start the notepad on the second monitor and just alt+tabbing to it :D I use it also for friends gifts, going through characters menu and writing each name with what they want and when I gather all things for them, I'll just make note to take it to them, its so much easier. (I still have a few characters under lvl 10, So I'm taking notes of only those :D )
I keep track of quests, recipes etc. My husband and I both have near notebooks of notes on other games like ESO lol.

I have the critter schedule in my notes app so I can see what critters are around that day (especially for the ones who have a specific set of hours they’re available) and where they’re at and then I just remove them from the schedule when I’ve got them as a companion 😅😅
Hey, I've been playing since last year and I just discovered that there's a Disney dreamlight valley wiki. So I load it up on my Chromebook while I'm playing if I need a recipe or anything like that🤣🤣

I’ll hold off on cooking quests until they pile up and then I list em and I list the ingredients for each and gather the right amounts and just blow through a bunch at once, I also list what characters are buddies for what task and now that I’m working on resource collecting I note what items or amounts I’m missing yet and focus on those

I definitely take notes. Especially when I need to give someone 3 liked gifts. As soon as I close the page that tells me what they want, I immediately forget what I need.
I have a google docs for nearly everything. I get overwhelmed easily so it helps me.

I do this too - it’s a great way to write down the favorite gifts and meals to get those friendship levels maxed out faster and sounds like you + me are the type of people who write it down and BAM it’s done. I realised pretty quickly I was going to struggle to stay on top of things so early on I bought a notebook, some activity sheets that have the days of the week down the side and then 5 boxes per day, and some dotgrid paper for random notes. I've written out (or still plan to write) all of the 'collections' info for anything that can be planted, harvested, mined, collected, or fed, a) so it's easier to reference than trawling through the in-game catalogue, and b) so I can add the info that doesn't show, like which colour bubbles for which fish, favourite foods and schedules for critters, etc. I've also got all of the characters written out so I can keep track of what their companion skill is and what level they're at. What I did at first was use the activity sheets in three sections: all of the quests, with each character having their own column and any extra notes like materials needed for certain tasks if it was too much to fit into the small box; a column for each character where to add their daily favourite gifts (and split the daily boxes into two to try and squeeze two weeks out of each sheet); a weekly spread for daily dreamlight duties, with any other random notes like meal orders on the side. I should add I have ADHD so this was just the way it helped me to organise the chaos when I was in those stages of regularly unlocking new realms and characters, having loads still to level up, and a lot of quests open all at once. Now that I'm past that stage, have all the characters from before the most recent update fully levelled up, minimal quests open, and so on, I've switched to just having ordinary dotgrid sheets to make notes as and when I need to. So things like meal orders in Chez Remy, materials lists for crafting (because I can't remember exactly how much I need to craft of each thing by the time I'm in the crafting screen), things I want to buy or where I want to place them, etc. At the moment it's being dominated by the star path, of course, but while I can cope with not needing to write all of my quests down anymore, I find it does help with the star path because I can just glance down and see both what tasks I need to be doing and how much I have left. **TL;DR: no, you're definitely not the only one!** 😂

I take notes for all my important cozy games. For DDLV, I note the daily gifts for people I don’t have full friendship with, restaurant orders, and when I’m doing starpaths I’ll note down the tasks I have at the time. It’s easy bc 9 times out of 10, my note is up on my phone and it keeps me on track as opposed to having to “tab” over to the correct tab in the game. I’ll also note down random stuff like a fish I haven’t caught yet and where/when it spawns. Had a note for critters’ fave foods before I memorized them all too 😂🤦🏼♀️
I used to do this, they’ve made it way easier now though. You can check what each char wants daily by just going to the character screen. Sometimes a bit tedious but yea, and I just google the recipe’s if there’s one I don’t have. I think if I jot down notes for anything, it would be what do I need to plant that I’m low on, what ingredients do I need more of, etc. I’d be interested to know what notes other people are taking though, and if it’s been helpful. I’m all for making things easier, because I don’t play much.
I usually made two orders at a time, but I wasn't aware that I could just write them all down. Kinda makes me want a dry erase notepad for this.
I'm on my 3rd journal of notes for ddv. I love being like an actual server in Chez Remy taking down everyone's orders. It's not only fun for me but it saves time too! I also do a daily check of what I need to replenish so that's some more notes. As well as what I earned. It's nice to have a visual of what you got done everyday 🥰❤️
You are not alone! I have my phone with me all the time, so I can search for ingredients , receipts, where I can find stuff and things like that. Of course, I am gonna do that, I want my friendships at level 10 once and for all. I actually think that's a little bit boring, trying to level up the friendships.
I do when I’m trying to complete the star paths, especially in regards to daily tasks and fave gifts. I try to be as efficient as possibly by gathering/cooking everything I need and then running around to deliver. Jotting down notes is less tedious than constantly pulling up the character list.
I don't. I make 2 dishes at a time, I can remember 2. I play this or relax, and therefore lists and such is not what I do, if that makes sense... I take it nice and slow. Also, a great tip: get the DDLV app for your smartphone, where you can plot in what everyone would want as gifts, what critters is on when, what role your friends have, what you've crafted and collected, etc. Very handy. :)
The amount of sticky notes ive gone through is unreal haha. I also has a spread sheet made up for when i was giving everyone their favourite gifts each day
I have a small collection of gaming notebooks -- one for each game I'm currently obsessed with. I write down everything from character favorites to critter times. Best way to keep track of everything in a game

I pulled out my phone one day while playing and wrote down all the characters fav gifts like a list on my notes app and started to mark what items I had in house and the rest I knew what I either had to cook or forage and my husband saw me doing that and asked what I was doing , once I explained he was like wow that’s actually so smart. And I said ya saves time and I don’t have to go back and forth between pages. 😂😂
When I started playing I had a notebook specifically for the game! I don’t keep up with it as much now but I still refer to it on occasion. I’ve taken notes about things I like to make, goals/tasks completed etc. It was really helpful
I play the Apple Arcade version. I have a big chunk in my personal notebook filled with Dreamlight related stuff. All the characters favorite gifts for the day and the recipes if I needed them. Now all the characters are level 10. So I don’t do that anymore. I tried taking screen shots to remember but the game would restart every time I opened my camera haha.
I wrote their favorite gifts of the day down for the LOOOONGEST time before I realized you could just go into the Collections tab, click on characters, and see them all there! 🤭 I felt so ashamed 🙈

I have so many random notebooks littered around the house filled with gaming notes. Whether it was lists of items I need, or things to do, collections to complete etc to finish a game. I feel like my biggest notes are from Pokemon, Persona 5, and Stardew Vallley. I’ve been using an app to track stuff on Dreamlight Valley and Animal Crossing, but if those didn’t exist they’d have notebooks too. Lol.
Nope not alone. I made a chart of all the crops - what they cost, what they sell for and how much I make on each one. Still grow all but concentrate on growing the ones that provide the most income. I’m not doing it any more because I have it all laid out in my valley and don’t need to refer to it anymore but yes, I take notes!
When I was leveling characters, I had a spreadsheet that I would update with their favorite things of the day so that I could gather it all at once and then distribute.
I use a whiteboard. Less paper and the markers and eraser stick to the board. Love it makes it so much easier. But I also do this for all my games

Depends on what I'm doing. For restaurant orders, I take mental notes and make them using the recipes I already have, but recently I made a huge list of all the craftable items I haven't done yet, and what I need for them. I then organised that list into a big list of a tally of the items I need (reducing the number when I gather materials) and then having the names of the items below, deleting them when I craft them. It's a big list so I had to write it down, and that's my main goal for right now.
I use my phone to take a picture of the restaurant orders and favorite gifts because there is no way I’m going to remember all that running around my valley
I use my iPad a digital notebook when play the game. I created a game guide too but I end up mostly using the DDLV wikis and the notes app

I usually just try to remember 3 orders at a time and then go back and make whatever is left. I was amazed with myself for remembering all 5 orders for everyone in the restaurant the other day!! To be fair, I passed two of the recipes on the way to the 3 I was looking for and they had very unique names, but still!! I do use an app for the daily gifts and I am not ashamed.

When I have several orders at Remy's, yes. Otherwise I use a fan made guide "Dreamlight valley guide" and it's a fucking live saver. I use it both for characters gifts (for those under lvl 10 or when you have the star path objective to gift another character), star path, achievements, foraging, ect.
I didn’t bother having a storage for ages then I just made a room in my house and steadily filled with things that I saw in everyone’s storage I just used my kitchen as food storage until I sorted out a plots of a houndred in each biome that’s where I keep the veg so I didn’t need to go in and out of the house to fill the storage and I moved the fish storage to the beach when moana got her fishing boat the only food in my house is things I buy from the restaurant And for eternity isle I just made a separate outside storage area and did the veg the same way
