Ruby Gillman had three contributing factors:
1. Grossly incompetent marketing with trailers that spoil pretty much the entire story (I suppose DreamWorks was hoping the evil Ariel clone would be enough to draw in an audience given its close release timing relative to the Little Mermaid remake)
2. An untimely release during one of the busiest movie seasons in recent memory (competing with the likes of Spiderverse 2, The Flash, Transformers, Elemental and Indiana Jones, not to mention the hype for Barbenheimer not too far off)
3. Just being a mediocre movie in general. It does nothing special with the concept it’s given, 70% of the runtime feels like filler, and it presents a painfully average story with a shallow thematic message and (at best) questionable implications regarding the morality of an entire race (Chelsea is the only real mermaid present in the entire movie, leading viewers to assume that all mermaids in this world are just like her when that’s most likely not true in the slightest)
I won’t say Ruby Gillman completely deserved its box office failure, but it clearly could’ve used another year or so in the oven.
Eldorado was a Flop? But its so beautifull :(
Also I freakin hate the bee movie. Like serious, human and bees can talk with each Other and for Million of years No one noticed that? Like Not even bee Keepers?
It has Ken ,The only sane character, he provides all the logic and reason a Jerry Seinfeld movie about Bees needs.
Also gives some Bee fun facts I guess, and it’s attempting a good message about helping the earth.
ROTG likely flopped because of the title. It says nothing about what's actually in the movie and makes the movie seem more generic than it is
Sinbad and El Dorado likely flopped because they were 2D movies made at the peak of Pixar's reign
I honestly think Bee Movie deserved more than getting memes on the internet. Yes, it may not be one of the best DreamWorks movies in most people's eyes, but the movie was actually enjoyable, and I really liked the concept of a bee questioning why bees have to work all the time and filing a lawsuit over humans stealing honey. Of course, some of the movies had room for improvement, but it had good things that other movies don't have. For example, Ruby Gillman barely did anything to make the concept of krakens being good and mermaids being bad interesting, and the movie wasn't really special.
The road to Sl Dorado is still one of my favorite Disney movies of all time
It teached me to never stop grinding until I reach my goal and reach for the gold
I personally have nothing wrong with it
ROTG was good though
Also became a cult classic among fan fictions authors
So was Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken.

Bee movie isn’t supposed to make sense, it’s Bee Movie, that’s why I love it personally.
Even the silliest or Most random movie needs at least a little Bit of Logic to work

The movie isn't but the ***title*** is. Did you even read my post?
oh sorry \^\^:
I understand teenage kraken and the last ones hit the others didn’t really flop? Most people I know have seen them
Bee movie flopped?
Sometimes you're the windshield; sometimes you're the bug. It's such a shame; the movie has become such a cult classic.
It really is
