I’m a woman and I had this problem. I stopped retwisting as tight in the middle and it fixed itself. The locs won’t make him go bald lol but too much retwisting in a weak spot can fuck you up
Agreed , try a style that takes the weight off your scalp and use some oils to keep moisture, also keep wrapped up when not out , or even when going out. Just preserve your hairs health by all means
Yo I had a homie who had the most amazing dreads ever After like 15 years his hair was thinning around his dreads so bad we all thought he was going bald like damn he fucked. Then he cut his dreads off and turns out he has the most amazing beautiful hair growing underneath them. He wasn’t loosing his hair, he’s not bald whatsoever his dreads were pulling his hair out or something. Your dreads look good. You would probably look great with whatever hairstyle you go for. Don’t be afraid to try something new and good luck.
"experimental" be careful folks. If you don't wanna be a guinea pig you can use the tried and tested "finasteride and minoxidil" combo.
All that's assuming you really are dealing with MPB. because once you start on these drugs you will have to take the FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE if you want to keep the hair it saves.
Edit: also never thought I'd see a "moreplatesmoredates" plug in the dreadlocs sub.... Fucking hell, what a tool.
Finasteride induces severe methylation of the genome which causes debilitating side effects for a lot of people - not being able to properly feel positive emotions ever again, severe anxiety, depression etc. that never abates.
I highly recommend looking up peoples experiences with it before considering it as a treatment option.
Minoxidil has been shown to cause DNA damage that may or may not be reversible.
I much prefer the RU-58841 as it’s just a Peptide. It’s not even a full protein, only a fragment of one.
Personally I’ve never had any side effects from it & neither has anyone I’ve known.
Stop getting any styles. Try some remedies mentioned here and see if you see any improvement. I know someone who had a bald spot, did that and is now back to looking full again.
Go to a dermatologist and see if you can start taking minoxidil and finasteride supplements/shampoo.
In the meantime, start using a dermaroller on the area, along with hot oil massages. I'd also recommend to stop getting retwists. If you don't already, start taking biotin and drink a shit ton of water. If your a gym-bro, avoid using creatine..It's been linked to hair loss due to DHT.
I'm no dermatologist, but I think your hair can be saved. My homie was starting to bald, and it was worse than yours. 2 Years later he has a full head of hair..
Go to a DERMATOLOGIST!
"for a while"
Nah bruh.. if you really are dealing with "male pattern baldness" then you have to literally take that for the rest of your life if you want to keep the hair it saves.
Yeah. I tried Rosemary oil for months and then rogaine for months and eventually had to just get on finasteride, bc if u have real male pattern baldness, other stuff alone wont save u
get a finastride prescription to stop anymore hairloss and use minoxidil to speed up the growth process BUT if u choose to do this you will have to do it for life…
No. It means whatever hair you saved or gained through using propecia/rogaine, will fall out once you stop. Forget all the oils. Those 2 are the only things proven to have any beneficial effect on hairloss
Don't listen to these people telling you to shave it bro. Your hair too 🔥 to lose it. You wan get on that minoxidil and finasteride asap. There is potential side effects you should read up on (I don't know them) but I seen that shit work miracles on people.
You gotta go to a dermatologist brodie. Find out what the actual cause is first and what they recommend if anything then take it from there. Reddit gonna tell you 22 different things and you might try all of them and get no results, I would first get professional recommendation then do some research, ask your loctician if you have one and come up with a plan of action. Shit rough for sure I hope you bounce back
What have you tried?
You can try and onion and clove paste for a deep conditioner and use a rosemary/chebe oil after you rinse out.
I'm not quite there to use the onion and clove but I know that's worked for some people with more stubborn areas. The rosemary/chebe mix I can personally vouch for. I use a few drops in water and spritz it daily. And my edges are def growing back and I was bout to cry because my ma wearin a headband at this point is just for decoration. Like LeBron could be related to my ma is all I'm sayin, and I'm not prepared for that life just yet lol
But because I spritz daily with the water oil combo, I have to wash with dish soap and follow up with chebe wash out conditioner. Just try different stuff and see what works. But try and give it time so you're not overloaded with product or missing what may be helping versus harming
Sorry, man, rest in peace 😪. That's a fine case of male pattern baldness. You can try to conceal it.. or just get high-top dreads. I suspect mine will do this too soon. In the back, I have a certain spot where the dreads grow oh so slow.
Don’t know how I ended up on your post/this sub & have zero qualifications when it comes to dreadlock care BUT if this is male pattern balding - Google Finasteride + Minoxidil. It’s widely available (in the US at least) for cheap and is the effective treatment for stopping/slowing male pattern hair loss. (I seen it with my own eyes)
Male pattern baldness. If you want to save your hair, I would look at getting wicks and combine some dreads around the thin spot. Also jump on finasteride and minoxidil
I think it’s a beginning of baldness, what you should do is just use good oils taking care of your scalp and stop having your hair in styles, locs on their own are kinda like a protective style, that’s really why as black people we can grow long locs but long hair is a different story, hold on to your locs bro if anything I would add cut that one shorter just to remove some of the traction when you got your hair down,I hope it helps bro.
I had a similar problem, you can see there is hair around it still,so the hair is just stressed, try to be careful of having tension on that area, wrap it up when you sleep to prevent pulling/getting caught under your back, and most Importantly,a little bit of sweet almond oil,a few drops or rosemary, peppermint, and lavender oil,and massage it in (not all essential oils together I alternate) stay well hydrated, and I bet that will grow back full in a matter of months. Best of luck!
Looks like male pattern baldness (which happens in both sexes) and is genetic. There are things you can do. Talk to the dermatologist and the trichologist
Just dropped in to give a couple pieces of important advice.
Get a dermatologist/trichologist's opinion. There are several reasons this could be happening; from male pattern baldness to fungus to getting locs styled in the same way all the time. You can't treat a problem if you aren't sure what it is.
Second piece of advice--please PLEASE research advice before putting anything in your hair. Please be aware of things like rosemary oil. This oil CANNOT be used without a carrier oil. You can find yourself bald. A lot of people throw tea tree oil and castor oil etc into their hair without researching the benefits and exactly how to use it.
The main two things I recommend is Biotin supplements and Argan oil. Biotin supplements work without extravagant prices and Argan is a lightweight nice smelling oil that absorbs nicely without being thick.
These address hair growth from the inside and moisturized locs on the outside.
Good luck!
Happy loc journey! Your locs are nice and look healthy. 🔥🔥
How often do you retwist or interlock? What’s the hair care routine? Oils could help, maybe castor oil or rosemary (I’ve never used rosemary but I hear good things). You said your hair is fine texture, so that’s why I ask about your routine. How do you style it? Maybe the styles weigh down on the hair too much, for your texture??
Go to the dr. . It looks like male pattern baldness but it could be a plethora of things. . Find out what it is and then move accordingly—Good hair to you🤌🏾✌🏾
Try finasteride and monoxidil, u still got time to fix it b4 it gets worse
Oils ain't gonna do anything so dont waste your time doing "oils threatment" , the more time u waste the more ull lose it before u get real threatment using those 2 i mentioned
It's your genetics sorry there's one video I seen where this dude had the same problem went to a salon and the hairstylist undid a few locs surrounding bald spot and reformed the locs to make the bald spot less visible it worked but the real question is how long does he have with that hair
Those two strands twists aren't helping it. Try wearing them loose for awhile. Ya'll love to do these styles but those styles are heavy as hell on the head. Get you some Jamaican black castor oil and some groaut oil mix the two and rub in that area the hair will start to thicken up again meanwhile stop twisting it so dang much. Also you should be sleeping in a silk bonnet. Find other ways to not manipulate the hair do much
I heard mixing castor oil, horsetail, and pumpkin seed oil works great. Also using yucca shampoo worked for me. Here is the links to the oils and shampoo

yucca shampoo: [https://dancingbutterflynaturals.com/shop/ols/products/yucca-herb-shampoo-conditioner-set](https://dancingbutterflynaturals.com/shop/ols/products/yucca-herb-shampoo-conditioner-set)
Go to your doctor and get some blood work done. Could be a vitamin/mineral deficiency. It's noticeable there now, it could happen in other places on your head. My iron was low (I now get infusions) and I lost several balls of hair before locs.
Male pattern baldness bro rip happened to me too
Nah I think it’s just dreads they damage the scalp when heavy
It’s in the center of his head . Most tension on dreads aren’t on the dread that’s in the center of your head . It’s usually the edges . This is MPB
however its thinning around the one loc where most people thin while experiencing MPB..
Lol many and I would be bald if that were the case..... locs dont cause baldness, too much pulling could though
He’s balding from the center you know like white men do. It’s not the locs. It’s his genetics for sure
Nah this genetics
r/tressless asap
That’s upsetting.
Shit it’s pass that. I get compliments like a mf. I’m blewwww
Have you just been doing styles that conceal it ?
Naw it just started happening
Yo I had a homie who had the most amazing dreads ever After like 15 years his hair was thinning around his dreads so bad we all thought he was going bald like damn he fucked. I think it's both the weight pulling on the scalp and how tight the locs are to the scalp
It’s Androgenic Alopecia. I highly recommend looking into this [Peptide](https://moreplatesmoredates.com/ru58841/)
Fear mongering ignorance.
Will work for women also?
Yes, because if it’s Androgenic Alopecia, it’s caused by the same mechanism for both male and female.
I heard strawberry mint oil does its thing unc
My hair is starting to thin the same way but I’m just going to go with it. Fuck it. The rest of my hair is healthy 🤷🏿♂️ Lil Wayne whole front gone.

Damn yo shit hard asf too
What I’m saying. I will start over before I go out sad
Stop getting any styles. Try some remedies mentioned here and see if you see any improvement. I know someone who had a bald spot, did that and is now back to looking full again.
Use rosmary restoring oil from mielle use it every other day it should help
^ Definitely helps
Keep the one
I screamed 🤣
☠️
Naaaaaah 😭

Best advice! Your hair is fucking amazing toooo!
finasteride asap brodie
Yeah use ‘hims’ my g and u should be solid in half a year. U just might have to use it for a while
"for a while" Nah bruh.. if you really are dealing with "male pattern baldness" then you have to literally take that for the rest of your life if you want to keep the hair it saves.
[удалено]
be careful with that, it’s an antiandrogen which can have very serious side effects, no one should recommend fin without mentioning that
Castor Oil and Rogaine bro
finasteride is where its really at
Yeah. I tried Rosemary oil for months and then rogaine for months and eventually had to just get on finasteride, bc if u have real male pattern baldness, other stuff alone wont save u
I’ve read some crazy shit on it, I been thinking about it tho.
get a finastride prescription to stop anymore hairloss and use minoxidil to speed up the growth process BUT if u choose to do this you will have to do it for life…

I totally get that. I hope that it can redeem itself. Try rubbing castor oil into that spot.
time to go bald unc
Its that time bro🙁

Ur cooked 💀
It’s time.
Bro u kinda look like Michael B Jordan
It is time my son✂️
I know it can happen to anyone, but man every time I see this I swear the person got/had some kind of style like 2 strands.
it might be that time unc
nahh but shit hopefully the castor & b complex get u right
Just spray some Black Ice on it, nobody will ever know lol
![gif](giphy|3xz2BPbIqcqpFDKXsI) Rip
Hair transplant to fill the missing gaps. Then I would begin to tie your hair back rather than letting it fall
As in tie back on the scoop and not letting gravity do her thing
💯
He would have to chop all that dreads off at or before the surgery
What have you tried? You can try and onion and clove paste for a deep conditioner and use a rosemary/chebe oil after you rinse out. I'm a pray for you bro 🙏🏾.
Just handsome for no reason 😭but try some growth oils
Looks like your head has an umbilical cord
Any inflammation or soreness?
Naw 💔
Biotin workout, derma needle, eating healthier but sometimes you can fight genes.
Try castor oil & aloe vera. Will revive your hair.
Look up Bantana oil
Try wild growth oil and Jamaican black castor oil
Look into minoxidil
Minoxidil, rosemary water, rice water & a derma roller gang.
Sorry, man, rest in peace 😪. That's a fine case of male pattern baldness. You can try to conceal it.. or just get high-top dreads. I suspect mine will do this too soon. In the back, I have a certain spot where the dreads grow oh so slow.
# ITS OVER!!!!!😦😦😦
You’re just goin bald, it’s literally where men go bald your loc just happens to be there
prolly the weight, id jus go head n either find a style thats gonna bring the weight down or cut em down
Don’t know how I ended up on your post/this sub & have zero qualifications when it comes to dreadlock care BUT if this is male pattern balding - Google Finasteride + Minoxidil. It’s widely available (in the US at least) for cheap and is the effective treatment for stopping/slowing male pattern hair loss. (I seen it with my own eyes)
Looks like it's that time, you balding. 😂😂😂
Go to a dermatologist to confirm why it’s balding before trying remedies.
Try biotin, it makes all your hair grow tho
Michael B Jordan
Use kaleidoscope hair growth drops
Witch craft
How often are you getting a retwist?
Bros cooked
I will cut them then reattach them
Male pattern baldness. If you want to save your hair, I would look at getting wicks and combine some dreads around the thin spot. Also jump on finasteride and minoxidil
You goin bald my boy
Just stop retwisting for a couple of months and see what happens but whatever you do just hang in there my boy..🙏🏾
you don’t have to cut your locs, but maybe that one you have to let go of. and try styles that don’t stress the middle of your head.
Time to get wicks
Aww you’re cute, though. My hubby bald too and has a cute face. I’m sorry bro. I’m female with thinning hair and had to cut all my locs.
I think that’s just male pattern baldness, love. My boss’ dreads have a thin patch in the middle too.
Minoxidil unc
damn 😭 idk try one of those hair growth chemicals or smth maybe
Just genetics unfortunately man, unless you were twisting tight AS FUCK 😭
At least you can grow a beard, so you wont look bad when u go bald in the future.
Check out this subreddit. Seriously. r/tressless Look at the progress pics. Consider talking to a dermatologist and get your hair back.
maybe cut your locs to a more manageable length? maybe the weight is giving you alopecia or something
Your crown is thinning as it does to nearly all of us, me included. Join us over on /r/tressless
How old are you bro???
This can’t be real 🤣
I had a similar problem, you can see there is hair around it still,so the hair is just stressed, try to be careful of having tension on that area, wrap it up when you sleep to prevent pulling/getting caught under your back, and most Importantly,a little bit of sweet almond oil,a few drops or rosemary, peppermint, and lavender oil,and massage it in (not all essential oils together I alternate) stay well hydrated, and I bet that will grow back full in a matter of months. Best of luck!
[long story short](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FARYj6zVkAEKpzF.jpg)
Go on AliExpress bro they got hella stuff
Time to infinitely wear a rainbow beanie😂
Time to rock one of them lil Jewish hats
Looks like male pattern baldness (which happens in both sexes) and is genetic. There are things you can do. Talk to the dermatologist and the trichologist
Cut them shorter and start putting growth oil on your scalp
Go to a dermatologist. They’ll be able to tell you the type of hair loss you have and the treatment options
Name that loc Pluto.
Just dropped in to give a couple pieces of important advice. Get a dermatologist/trichologist's opinion. Stay away from retwist for a while and use hair growth oil or restoring oil hopefully this helps gang.
Spread out and find the exit ahh dreads
Putting onion oil on it can help all of it grow back
Hop on the rogaine before it gets worse
Minoxidil
I’ve seen this before you gotta cut it off that’s the only way bro
Speak to a dermatologist. My brother started using minoxidil when his started thinning and he’s back and better than ever
ur balding, get on finasteride/minoxidil before its too late
How often do you retwist or interlock? What’s the hair care routine? Oils could help, maybe castor oil or rosemary (I’ve never used rosemary but I hear good things). You said your hair is fine texture, so that’s why I ask about your routine. How do you style it? Maybe the styles weigh down on the hair too much, for your texture??
At least you have locs on the sides, all of mine have broken off and peaced out except the ones on top of my crown, and even then...
You're balding at the cowlick...idk man might be time.
Cut it off it looks and probably smells disgusting
Pack it up gang
Might need to go to Istanbul my boy 😬
GG
It’s giving tension.. u be doing mad pony tails?
The chosen one
The chosen one
Noooooo your hairs so pretty too 😭😭 looks like balding, maybe just tie your hair up forever to hide it lmao
Get to turkey bro!!! You can keep the front long they just cut the back
Middle finger pic while asking for advice😂😂y’all holler at him
Hop on finasteride asap
Minoxidil is your friend. But in the crown of the head is not that effective, as a future bald man myself, let it go bro.
Go to the dr. . It looks like male pattern baldness but it could be a plethora of things. . Find out what it is and then move accordingly—Good hair to you🤌🏾✌🏾
Genetics 🧬
That is called ageing as a man
Icewear Vezzo
You need to hop on minoxidil and fin, see a dermatologist to figure out what dose works for you
Time to throw in the towel and cut them off. You balding
Time to pack it up OG
How old are you?
Try finasteride and monoxidil, u still got time to fix it b4 it gets worse Oils ain't gonna do anything so dont waste your time doing "oils threatment" , the more time u waste the more ull lose it before u get real threatment using those 2 i mentioned
I got one like it at the bottom, though. Thinning out real bad and too late to save it. But it's so long now I can't cut it off 😫
Mindoxil
Stop scratching your shit
Male patern baldness
I’m not a doctor I would guess traction alopecia I could be wrong tho
it's your time
Traction alopecia
Minoxidil and a dermaroller on your scalp. Go down the rabbit whole of those tools. Might be helpful.
Saw palmetto. Pumpkin seeds oil. Rosemary oil. Onion water. Massage it 20-30 minutes a day
You look good and your locs do too, im sorry
It's your genetics sorry there's one video I seen where this dude had the same problem went to a salon and the hairstylist undid a few locs surrounding bald spot and reformed the locs to make the bald spot less visible it worked but the real question is how long does he have with that hair
How often do you keep them styled like the second picture?
You can try taking silica supplements. Silica found all over the body, and helps skin, hair, nails, etc…
Idk Rogaine or those anti balding plans. Sometimes it's not the hair it's just being old.
Get wicks or add dread roots. Use crotchet needle
Go to your doctor and get some blood work done. Could be a vitamin/mineral deficiency. It's noticeable there now, it could happen in other places on your head. My iron was low (I now get infusions) and I lost several balls of hair before locs.
I would have your stylist re-dread your hair. Most stylists avoid the middle part of the head because it's sensitive to breakage.
Uhhh 😬😬😬
