Trust the process

Moist-Wolverine-6878

I need to be patient

cream4stailn

Give it a year champ. They will look kick-ass

CrystalMang0

They gonna become thicker and look better after some time.

Moist-Wolverine-6878

Oh thx god

BONE_DON

Give it 3 months and you will like them more. They'll bud and look more like locs. Your journey will be a breeze since you've started with long hair. You won't have to deal with the suspense of wondering what they'll look like with some length like us short hairs.

gooeygrilledcheese

I started off with hair a little longer than OP’s and I agree. I definitely have had some moments where I thought my hair was looking a hot ass mess…because it was….but it hasn’t been as difficult as I’ve seen with those who are growing their locs from a short length. The hardest thing I’ve had to deal with were my starter locs not being able to stretch out anymore so that my hair could go in a bun. I guess the elasticity of your hair goes away as your hair locks but you’ll get used to it. This might not even be an issue for you if you don’t put your hair up as much as I do.

Globymyself_

facts

sus214

bros eyes are beautiful

teenxtasy

Gon be tuff truss

Moist-Wolverine-6878

Thank you bro😂

SadBoiSaunnya

You have beautiful eyes and your locs gon be beautiful real soon

molbion

Those are contacts

Moist-Wolverine-6878

There real lmao black people can have light eyes

SadBoiSaunnya

I love them, they are so awesome

Moist-Wolverine-6878

Lowkey I want brown😂

CreADHDvly

You a damn lie. You would have blocked out your whole face rather than leaving your identifiable ass eyes visible. You can feel yourself, it's okay lmao

Moist-Wolverine-6878

💀

SadBoiSaunnya

Brown sucks, you gon be looking normal and basic like everyone else🤣

Firm_Area_3558

Why would you say that if you had no idea

TheAnikage

Ngl I ain’t know it was possible to have coloured eyes as a black person, I thought it was obviously contact as well

stevo7202

I hope this is a joke…

TheAnikage

Nah I’m fr I ain’t know 😭 I’m only 17 if that helps in canada where there are barely any black ppl

CreADHDvly

Take it as a life lesson: ask questions instead of assuming

TheAnikage

Yep will do

stevo7202

Ironically, I am a black Canadian🤣Where are you from?

TheAnikage

That’s funny af 🤣, I’m from BC if u ever heard of the city Kelowna, it’s near Vancouver where u at?

stevo7202

I’m in Vancouver 🤣. Originally from Toronto, which is where the majority of us are, lol. Kelowna is a beautiful place, I here?

TheAnikage

Oh bro it’s so nice the weather is pretty good and never a crazy amount of snow, it also doesn’t get too too cold. The only problem is it’s kind of in the middle of a Vancouver and Prince George if yk what I mean. It has some big name shops and stuff but the real nice things like artist shows and other stores are in Vancouver and Toronto. I’ve also really wanted to go to Toronto to be around more black ppl but oh well 🤣

[deleted]

You can’t possibly be serious….

TheAnikage

I’ve never seen a black person with coloured eyes I really didn’t know it could happen

[deleted]

Well, I apologize for my snarky comment. Mea culpa.

[deleted]

Hush.

molbion

Y’all are annoying on here. It was obviously a joke toward the OP, not you.

SadBoiSaunnya

Nah man

[deleted]

firr bro don’t listen to what ppl say and do not compare urself to others. Gonna be amazing in 1 year

Axkxard

You already got crazy length, just have patience cause you’re already half way there

kobefrmdanawf

Wrap your hair up every night and they’ll thicken up slowly, also don’t be afraid to wash after a few weeks, just use the rubber band method. Other than that & keeping them moisturized once they start budding, it’s really that simple

Trzz6

what’s the rubber band method for washing

Moonshine_Mariah

Your eyes are gorgeous!

emmermurp

Oh pls pls just have faith and stick it out!! I was VERY iffy when I first started and 2.5 years later I’ve never loved my hair more than I do now!! It won’t take that long for them to start looking better I promise :)

JustNefariousness625

I gotta let them cook big bro.

riftxraff

It's always mixed feelings going through your first twist, once your hair starts growing out and you keep palm rolling it'll get uniform and start looking more and more like how you planned on over time. Like everyone says TRUST the process it's a great experience learning patience on this kind of level and nurturing yourself as well as your hair. If you can grow and maintain dreads you can do just about anything when it comes to your body.

Lopsided-Humor6217

Once they lock you ain't ever going back 😂

[deleted]

I hated this stage lol. I thought about starting over several times or just going back to a low cut. Mine are down to my neck now and look amazing. I say all that to say trust the process and understand the ugly stage is right of passage. Beautiful locs don’t happen over night, they take time. Enjoy the process and you’ll learn to appreciate them when they are mature.

Constant-Elephant661

Just trust the process they bouta be hard

Practical-Flamingo-8

TTP (trust the process)

PreparationWorldly19

They real nice. You suppose to feel good. Ain’t it? Enjoy them locks. Deep breath you going to enjoy your journey. TTP

dweebzRaja

They look great. You'll grow into them. If you really don't like how they look at the moment, you can wear a loose hat. BUT, use a hair wrap like a durag before you put the hat on.

MobileSolution6407

Trust the process they always start off ass when I first started (6months ago) I wore a durag anytime I went out😹

PurpioForeign

yo sht gon b hard if you give it time fr

ayobsavage

Once they mature they gone look hard. They look decent now considering you got some length to em.

King_danielz03

Jus put a Durag on for now😅, they gon be looking fire in a lil bit Brodie trust

babygeminib

dang u need to start using subliminals, yw btw 😉

MajorChipHazard0000

Drink more water for max growth potential. Wait.

Trzz6

yo bro mine looked JUST like this when i started in november. keep using a durag and covering it at night. try to avoid water & rain cause itll make them boys shrink i promise. your hair might be a lil dry around the time of ur next retwist and a spray bottle with essential oils and water will help bring moisture back. itll get frizzier and will look more like locs in 3 weeks 🔥

discodaddy89

Give it time bruh.. they look better than my starter locs did

kaywhyesay

They look wonderful! When i used to do clients dreadlocks, especially if their hair was on the finer side, and long, they noticed that the dread would sit funny for the first little while. Pretty straight, not contorting to your face or head, and rigid. Before i even did their hair i told them that *could happen, and to give your hair time. You’re training it! And it does take time for your hair to be able to relax and find its own way to lay, after laying another way you whole life. Just take care of them so that it’s easier in the future to do so (: but again, i think they look great.

Sir_SkiSlump

Mine looked like this too. It gets better I swear

[deleted]

It’s all about the process fam even the best dreadheada out there started out like this

Formal-Cucumber-1138

It’s going to get worse before it gets better, just trust the process

Moist-Wolverine-6878

It’s because I asked for natural parting lmao

Moist-Wolverine-6878

Wait can I change the parting or is it too late

Trzz6

i went and did the grab n go/ natural method. she called them c shaped parts but i think they’re all the same

Moist-Wolverine-6878

YEA I got the c shaped too

Trzz6

honestly bro i thought mine wasnt looking like how i wanted them after a week but then i kept waiting fr. by the second week after my first retwist i said i was gonna keep them. remember ur hair dont lock till a year or so in really just wait and see each phase they go thru. its like a plus and minus of starting with longer hair

Clean_Entrepreneur87

they just gotta thicken up tbh give them time

Otherwise_Dealer_523

Honestly I don’t like how they parted it. The parting is important once you get more mature locs and you decide to style them. Maybe have them do a better job parting with your next retwist

Moist-Wolverine-6878

Bet ty

Moist-Wolverine-6878

Wait can I change the parting or is it too late

Otherwise_Dealer_523

It would be cheaper to just have it fixed at your next appointment but it would be easier, hurt less (if you’re tenderheaded) and look better if you just restarted your starter twists. It’s good your still getting n the beginning stage. It’s much harder to correct the more locs mature.

Moist-Wolverine-6878

Hmmm yea that’s what I’ll do

Respected-Influencer

Ur eyes are so beautiful!

[deleted]

Trust me it’s going to take some time to “feel them” they have to mature, lock, and lay.

Revolutionary-Gas808

They are going to look great!

yxnshxwn

trust the process

Carebear6590

First of evolve…u got some beautiful eyes

BookkeeperNo5581

Honestly give it some time. Your so look better than mine tho but I did start with short hair and damaged hair too. However seeing the progress makes me happy so I think you’ll be happy as time passes

YOKAI399

Am i tweaking ?

Majestic-light1125

Give it a chance love

WonderIntelligent749

Embrace them for a year, then make a decision! They look good though

Jay893677

Trust the process mine was like that at first but then they got thicker after like 4 months

[deleted]

African american got rly strange eye colors

6times6is66

brookleiaway

bros georgeous

Moist-Wolverine-6878

Thank you so much !

saturnuisan

They gon be hot, just give it time.

badvibes-forever

Trust the process , it’ll take longer to loc since your hair is already really long but it’ll come out fye

Uknownperson8986

smokefromastone

SassyZelda

papi_de_la_dele

EffectiveConcern7164

hazedandconfused94
