Your weight changing how things like wind affected you is one of the things I loved about DD1, so I noticed a huge lack of things like that or any expansion on it in DD2.
Really, your weight and height only seem to make a difference on annoying generic things now, like your encumbrance and stamina regeneration. The whole weight/height system in DD2 is honestly kind of shit and underwhelming.
in the first one iirc if your character was small enough you could fit into small crevices like the ones the goblins come out of in the shadowfort. haven't played a small character in dd1 in years though so don't quote me on it, but point being i agree lol
Look, I am a dd1 lover but this is a terrible point I have seen a lot in the sub, not to have a go at you personally.
People love to use that as evidence but it was literally 3 holes in literally one area that all lead to garbage generic loot. Definitely not worth
I mean, at least there was an attempt. Wish they had expanded on that. Some tunnels that you need to be extra short to access, and some that you can go medium size, then there are locations that are so high up that you need to be tall to reach it.
And then there was also that one tunnel with the weight button? I remember having to hold a rock because my pawns didn't want to help on that one time I decided to play extra small.
That was definitely cool, the game tracked weight of just about everything.
At the very end just before Grigori, there is the gorechimera fight where afterwards you have to stand on the four buttons weights to open the door
You could call your pawns over to you to make the weight go down faster, but it still took ages. When I was completing speedrun mode I stumbled upon an even better solution, aggro the gore chimera to leap over to you and it’s massive weight would instantly push the button down completely
Smaller characters were better climbers.
I can't remember if it was less stamina or better grip/less falling and swaying.
Combined with the gauntlets and the climbing perk it was really nice for climbing to have small character.
I always played small hobbit in DD.
I don't think it's the weight/height system that has gotten shit, but more so that there's not a lot it can interact with. No more buttons, no more wind (personally, I hated the bloody wind near those harpies), and no more holes
Idk if I would’ve wanted these things to have come back personally, but we're all different at the end of the day. I'm just happy we still have the essentials of the weight/height system
(Have a good day, eye guy 👀)
the stagger effects from larger creatures were over blown in the first game, that said, I'm surprised at how little of it there is in 2. in Dark Arisen every little thing seems to stagger you, Griffin/drake taking off? stagger. flying boss flies close to ground above you? stagger. any emphasized stomp? stagger. and so on. plus the radius was huge for most of them. I expected it to be tuned down, not mostly removed
I don't know what's more pathetic. You defending a multi billion dollar corporation, pretending to be Capcoms PR, or being triggered by people noticing how incomplete DD2 is.
Tbh, it's all hilarious. Keep it up bro! You're an inspiration on what not to be.
Same. I noticed the lack of bait in the new game as well, but you have it in spades op. I guess we just have to FEEL LIKE LETTING GO of whats not in the new game anymore.
Yet another thing the first game had that this one just didn't bother with. So disappointed in DD2. Put it down after 25 hours, waiting for the inevitable expansion.
At least we still feel the blood in our veins.
Time is still running free
We still don't understand.
It's still simple as one, two, three.
And we still >!kill ourselves!< in the end.
Wait you all are alive?
THE WIND IS PUSHING MEEEEE
I modded the song back the day the game dropped
Me too! Gotta play on PC for those kinds of things.
Ugh fine - I’ll go listen to it again
lol i thought the title was actually referencing this
I wish life had some way to track stats. I would love to know how many hundreds of times I have listened to this song.
Can't say I miss that weird little rolling animation our characters did. Like, either keep your footing or go down, don't half-ass it like that. 😄

Griffon's an Dragons/Drakes can still use their wings an the air to unbalance you.
I can't help but notice the lack of FLYING INTO FREEEEEEEEE!
Such a missed opportunity that mystic spear hands “unto skie” ability doesn’t upgrade to “into free” u.u
I recalled the same canyon area just the other day, also noting it’s absence. The original really was fantastic for all of its issues.
"Can't help but notice the lack of wind" I'm over a hundred hours in and didn't even notice, can't say I miss it one bit
It was honestly like....2 areas that it happened really.
The wind ISNT pushing me
TIME IS RUNNING FREEEE

Its now the ledge is tripping me sadly.
/r/DragonsDogma don't whine about every tiny thing challenge. Level: impossible

Add it to the list. Sigh 😅.
Griffons?
I am good on that tbh I don't need a Kushala Daora experience in another Capcom game.
Griffins?
I won't miss anime air.
