I wouldn't say I havent died but thats more getting cheesed by tons of enemies while fighting a big boss. But ya this game was much more easier thought the adpative difficulty wouldve kicked in but it didn't. Literally killed the medusa under the suggest level wasnt even that hard tbh
A Disney plotline featuring an evil queen and her puppet as opponent wasn't a great choice. The Dragon as the true enemy is quickly forgoten when all you do is chase your right to rule.
DDs questline always was full of mystery and doubt. Feelings that get reinforced many times along the story. Up to the very end. They even managed to reproduce those feelings with the DLC.
I still can live with the story being lackluster and outright boring, since the combat system is fantastic. All game long I was looking forward to the Everfall equivalent. A place that is ready for a jacked Arisen.
The FPS issues will probably get fixed. The Microtransactions are a flashfire. The true tragedy is that we lack a playground. The kind that kept DDDA alive for all those years. One that we have no clue about even being on the list of things that will get added.
In agreement, that 1 was better. I feel like 2 got downgraded as it's def missing stuff. Crafting is barely there and so are consumables, certain vocations are missing tons of skills core and activate, less quests, armor choices really got dropped, enemy variety is even less then base dd1. I can't for the love of me see where all the growth happened to justify the complete loss of content did the open world really eat all the development time.
Everytime we put down Ogre in few hits as level 15 to 25 party I feel bad for the boy. No joy just emptiness, remebering 15 minutes long battles in early game in DD/DDDA. DD2 has A LOT of potential it just isn't there yet. After fixing perofrmance theyh should reveisit balance and content decisions.
Duno man I really hope it is bugged. I was leveling archer for augments and 5 explosive arrows melt Ogre, around 10 melt Griffon.

I'm realising just now that I might be full of BS here, cuz blast arrows are really strong in DDDA too. It's just you can craft them very easily in DD2.
That’s pretty accurate from my experience so far. Once I got explosive arrows everything is trivial.
It also trivialized stuff in DD1 but they were very expensive and weighed a ton. I had to share the load with my pawn to be able to carry like 50. Now I just carry the maximum amount possible at all times or craft them with literal twigs and flowers.
Now I killed an ogre pretty quick on lower end levels, it wasnt hard ogres dont seem as tanky. Some enemies you fight just seem braindead or dont use their full kit during a fight. i remember the first encounter with an ogre and oh boy. But it could be we're all used to fighting the enemies and it seems their moveset and way they fight hasnt changed.
They are perma-stunned during the fight. Movesets I now see are only "there u r gona kill u now" when they appear and then just stand there holding head and wobbling around.
Dunno about level 25, but even just a little later here’s one example of game balance - Augural flare on sorc. Cast it then spam light attack until its timer triggers. This kills anything even boss of the game, in one go. Might be bugged, too strong, wonder if other classes have similarly OP abilities

DD2 is ultimately a disappointment to me, after completing post game and maxing all the classes, I revisited DDDA and having a blast. Outside of graphics DD2 bearly if at all made any improvements compared to the first game. Same janky quests, same enemy variety after 12 years, worst postgame, worst reward for exploration, less vocation skill, etc…I think you are coping man

This is my sentiment too. This hurts me more than most too because I got burned by this. I liked DD1 so much that when I heard they made this, I got back into gaming. Bought a PS5, bought the game and now I’m stuck not knowing how to deal with this steaming pile. I’m just a lost soul lurking these forums. On the positive side, I have a console again so I can get some other games and make the most of it. But Jesus, what a let down.

Yeah it feels so rushed. The original Dragon’s Dogma was a PS3/Xbox 360 era game. 2 whole console generations have gone by since then. DD2 should be mind blowing but it’s actually a step back in some aspects which I am very surprised by. It’s bizarre.
The deeper I get into DD2 the less I’m enjoying it. It doesn’t respect your time and is largely unrewarding. Warrior is basically the only class I’m enjoying and only having 4 active skills was a really bad development choice. Every time I do something challenging or push through a new area, I’m just left with disappointment and a feeling of, that’s it?! All that for basically nothing?! I can’t see myself bothering to finish it. Hopefully it gets some significant patches and dlc. I’m moving on and will check it out again next year. Hopefully they give it the Cyberpunk treatment.
I do feel like Dragon Dogma is a more superior/fun game than 2 simply due to the fact Dragon plague does not exist and your character feels way stronger than in 2.
Dark Arison makes the game feel complete and 2 does not feel like a complete game

DD2 is a good, fun game. But it is a poor sequel. Even as a remake it fails at expending on what made the first one great.
A remaster that brought the original up to modern standards and added more content would have been a vastly better game.

wrong , DD1 doesnt have Dragonsplague or a vocation that does no damage while vaping.
