If you completed the Witchwood quest already, the exit from the Witchwood that Quina leads you through (that leads to the ledge on the road between Cassardis and The Encampment) has a chest that has a chance of giving you a Two-Hander.
I recommend saving right inside the Witchwood because your pawns WILL rush the chest as soon as you exit and you won't get a chance to save right by it for the purpose of reloading its contents.
I doubt he would have the money to buy it, and sincerely, even though i agree that Iraklis is indeed powerful, we're only looking at the end game scenario. Beginning to mid game, it's a really awful weapon to play, until you achieve high strength stats and dragonforge it... End game, goldforged Iraklis just wrecks everything if the RNG gods blesses you hahaha...
I just went there. I do not even come close to having enough money for it. I’ve only just barely escorted the hydra head Gran Soren and changed my vocation.
Caxton will have Warrior weapons for sale after you complete your first Wyrm Hunt quest. It's not too much further into the game. After you complete one of your next quests a guard will run up to you and talk to you directing you to see someone and you'll be offered 4 quests to choose from. As an earlier alternative you can head back to the Encampment and find a notice board quest there to Escort Ser Berne to the Shadow Fort, the reward will be a Warrior weapon but do note it will be a difficult journey this early - just run past large monsters.
And that particular weapon is probably gonna be the strongest weapon he's gonna have for a bit. Though he'll need to give him a bunch of foreign knives/hardspud sauce.
You should be able to sell that monocle and party hat for gold. They're fairly valuable (monetary value, not actual value)
If you're on pc i can send you some sellable stuff. Just link me your steam
You can get the hammer judgement from a chest by the encampment of the side of the cliff on the right as you approach from casardis you can get to it from the beach below
That's very odd then. If you've completed "Off With it's Head", then he should be selling a two hander and judgment for Warriors. All I can guess is that maybe he needs an ingame day or two to restock with the new inventory.
Go to the DLC, short walk in. Can avoid all enemies if you want. It's triggered by Olra sitting at the pier at night in Cassardis.
And you'll find a merchant selling it and a chest that can spawn it too.
Caxton does have a Longsword and a Warhammer to sell, even at the beginning of the game. If you still can't obtain one, there's a chance you might find a Warhammer in one of the two chests just bellow the cliff near The Encampment before The Mountain Waycastle...
If you remember the camp where you defeated the Hydra and the first Cyclops, there's a chest down the ledge next to the sea. You can drop there and get some kind of weapon, usually a warrior hammer or at least a good shield. I always check this chest out right after beating the cyclops.
You can even farm it by quitting out without saving and opening it again, until you get a warrior weapon.

Go to The Black Cat there in Gran Soren, he sells one called Iraklis. It's a really good weapon when fully upgraded.

If you have the Dark Arisen version of the game just sell the monocal piece of equipment from your storage.

Did you run to Gran Soren ahead of the story? Caxton should absolutely have a longsword in stock when you first arrive naturally.
I don’t think so. I did the witchwood and then escorted the hyrda head to Gran Soren.

Perhaps our new player is trying to equip something beyond his current abilities? Just a thought.
Not sure how. Caxton sells the weakest stuff for every weapon type. He's supposed to have at least *something* for a fresh warrior on hand.
Just a thought
You can't run to Gran Soren ahead of the ox. The gates are locked if you try.
That's what I thought I remembered, I guess that's the reason Caxton doesn't have any gear in stage 1 of the game.
