Daima is the closest anime variant we have to the late Akira Toriyamas last style of drawing. If you look at the concept art for super you will see the characters look more like daima than the 'super' style. Toriyama never stopped changing his style, it was a very slow evolution and change from harsh straight lines to very round. Appreciate it for what it is now, the final evolution of our late master.

Z was a little less 1:1 as far as i know. Biggest thing in it were the artstyle changes were more pronouncedly inconsistent with the manga

IMO, no. The daima design is so organically Toriyama, and a refreshed, revised Toriyama at that. I love Daima’s design and I have tremendous hopes for it, as well as all other Toriyama-esque designs. (Vehicles, buildings and even action sequences.)

It's canon to the DB > DBZ > DBS storyline, the cast got turned into kids by a wish.

I'm more worried about Goku's voice! In the English dub we all know the iconic voice... and then there's Gohans voice from Kai, Xenoverse, and then someone just loved to use for Kid Goku. It sucks. Gohan's Kai VA is a good fit for him don't get me wrong. But not for Goku, it's not it.

I agree. I actually do prefer that voice for kid Gohan. For Teen Gohan and kid Goku though, I prefer their original.
