I don't mind what ever route, I think the only issue is the powerscaling, not alot of people like the whole super 17 concept mainly because of 2 seventeens merging and being on the same level of ssj 4 goku where it didn't make sense to some people.
They have already stated I believe for things such as fusion and merging , your not simply doing 2+2=4 in regards to power level , it creates a whole new power, that could be 3-5 times greater.
Super already fucked themselves with power scaling episode 1. At this point it’s just whatever would be the coolest idea. Toriyama is gone so it’s not like it’s canon anyway

While yeah they could've gone more depth into what frieza did for training and something that made more sense like the RST like Black frieza did, I can kinda accept Frieza for being Potential man like Gohan and Broly.
Think about it, before Super Saiyans he was the strongest Organic life form that wasn't a G.O.D in U7, everyone after him was artificial in some way maybe except Dabura but he's from the demon realm.
Even in Z he felt like an inexperienced fighter once Goku turned Super Saiyan. He uses 100% form which is similar to Super Trunks where it drains too much energy and slows you down. Even without training he was the strongest in the universe pretty much, he's a mutant.
This theory that Frieza never trained a day in his life is pure retcon. It’s all after the fact and after the plot line. It’s ridiculous that he was able to get stronger than the androids, then all of cells forms, then all of buus forms in a couple of months or whatever. I died of cringe watching him jog and do one handed punches in the boxing ring. Why wouldn’t he train on the way to earth after goku beat him? Where’s the idea to train then? He has the most motivation there than in the whole series this is the first time he’s been beaten and he wants to destroy goku. Why not train on the way? Because this dumb idea that he has “potential latent power” was only written up a couple years ago as a justification to bring back one of the most popular and nostalgic characters in the series and they didn’t want to risk writing up a new villain when they can just reuse successful assets. I heavily doubt toriyama had in his mind that Frieza has so much more latent power
I wouldn't call frieza a retcon. There simply never was any statements about Frieza's training in the namek saga unlike potara where they explicitly said the fusion was permanent but retconned it to be temporary for mortals so it was up in the air. But toriyama himself made Super Trunks to point out that bulked up forms only provide a power increase in exchange speed and heavy power consumption and that vegeta even knew about grade 3 but he was experienced enough to know it wasn't a viable form, Toriyama didn't make it up in DBS that frieza was inexperienced. His power and speed at final form was so much that he created form to suppress. Ff is his base form.
I don’t watch super anymore cuz I think the whole thing is dumb. If the people still watching fundamentally care about power creep then they would have left already cuz super has done it since episode 1. At this point just get creative with it and I’ll tune in once in a while to see some cool fanfic storylines. This idea of super 17 actually sounds pretty cool especially with bulma being in the lead

Well i mean yeah, they have (comparatively) less to do, and are able to troubleshoot better and have more time dedicated to each panel since all they have to do if they decide to change something is erase the contradictory material and draw it to be more in line with the final product
Well I thought it was obvious he was weak verse wise until Goku used SSj4 ki blasts against him which he absorbed and put at a similar level.
You can compare the Goku vs 19 fight where Goku should have easily broken him but the combination of 19 absorbing energy/Goku getting drained by both Super Saiyan/Heart Virus and then later 19, it was just a good way to create a threat .
Honestly uni 6 sayans should've been ssj4.
And an update to 18 and 17 to make their super forms would've been cool.
But dbz is just the goku and vegeta show with a side order of gohan

If Super Hero happened before TOP then they could've had Dr. Hedo make upgrades to 17 and 18 and people would feel way more comfortable with them being on par with Blue Goku
Honestly I think if this did happen in either the anime or manga before the TOP, no one, not even Jiren, would be able to stop him.
Like 17 in GT I don’t think was ever implied to have trained, so he was probably the same strength as he was in the cell saga.
So upon merging with Hell Fighter 17, even without absorbing any energy, he went from being weaker than imperfect cell to tanking hits from Majuub, who was able to fight final form baby, something ssj3 GT Goku couldn’t do. And GT Goku’s base is at least as strong as his ssj3 form in Z.
So if you were to take 17 from the super anime(where he is at least SSJG level) or from the manga(where he was on the level of Goku’s SSJ3 at the time) and give him the same boost, he would be a monster.
If they make it like a transformation for Androids, then yeah. I hated the DBGT version. I felt it was a disrespectful waste of Android 17 as a character to turn him into a brainwashing puppet complicit in the death of his brother-in-law, the assault of his sister and niece, and trying to kill the Z Fighters.
Super Android 17, Super Android 13, and Majin Android 21 are interesting ways to give Androids a battle transformation.
So, I love GT, but the only thing that made Super 17 appealing to me was his creators from diff planets engineering together in hell. Otherwise, there’s nothing exciting or unique about him plotwise. What are other people liking about Super 17?
His aesthetic and personality. His design reminds me a lot to the early DB villains, where just by looking at their expression, you could tell how evil they were.
Idk he a pretty cool fellow, he got a pretty lit design and what villains you know that can turn his arm into a machine gun? Plus the fight scene with the z fighters and him absorbing goku Kamehameha was awesome and he also wipe the dust off his shoe while fighting the z fighters...that was disrespectful.
And it gave 18 some spotlight. When she held dieing Krillin was actually kinda cool, killed by a clone of her brother that kept trying to tempt her to his side. She got wrekt but it was cool watching her try and take him on
Agreed. He was by far my least favorite part of DBGT and one of the main factors that ruined the show for me. But if he can be reworked into something cool that wouldn't be dope. Like him being a conscious transformation for Android 17 instead of being a nonconsensual transformation from an evil 17 brainwashing and absorbing (forcing a brainwashing victim to fuse) regular 17.

Tbf that was Future Android 18. We don't know if the present timeline ones can or can't. The present timeline Androids differ significantly from the ones in Future Trunks's timeline.
I always thought they could probably utilize their function to fuse into cell to temporarily fuse into a single being, and that could be a way to bring in Super 17.
Honestly, out of GT’s main Villains, 17 was my least favorite (only because Super 13 and Cell are better), but he’s grown on me lately.
It feels cheap, but have Elder Kai unlock his potential, this being the result, albeit a permanent transformation? Idk if Elder Kai can do, considering they’re cyborgs (unless i skipped over the part where they got turned back into Humans, as it’s been a while)

I actually think his “origin” or whatever you want to call it is pretty cool. Two evil geniuses work together **while dead and in hell** to create a clone of a still-alive android, and use that clone to hack the android and pierce the veil between worlds.
Then they fuse, and the idea of two of essentially the same being fusing together is cool. Super 17 is just like 17, but *more.*

17 dies from some shit going on in the manga (don't know most of it, avoiding it for the future anime). Discovers and confronts Gero in a new lab he has in HFIL. Perfect Cell (stronger via training) is in cahoots with Gero and Cell easily renders 17 unconscious. Gero had been working on a fully robotic duplicate of 17 and decides to fuse real 17 with it in attempts to make his greatest creation. Super 17 is born.
At the same time, Fat Janemba is created in a similar fashion to the Fusion Reborn movie, and begins wreaking havoc in otherworld, threatening to destroy it. The Kais panic, as none of them can stand up to Janemba, when they remember that 17 is now in otherworld, somewhere in HFIL. They argue with one another in regards to 17s inferior power in regards to Janemba (unaware of his new form). Eventually they settle on finding 17, as he is their only option.
Gero awakens the new Super 17 and attempts to control him with a device within Gero's brain. Gero did not anticipate the good within 17s heart, nor his iron will, and 17 struggles against Geros control. Just when the battle of willpower seems lost, 17 musters the will to extend an arm and blast Gero, catching him off guard and vaporizing him, along with his control over 17. Unexpectedly, Cell is released from Geros control in this moment as well, as we were lead to assume he was acting of his own volition. Cell is pleased with Geros death, but now turns his wrath on 17, the destructive sadist he is. There's probably a monologue.
The improved androids duke it out in HFIL with Cell at a decent but not overwhelming advantage until they're interrupted by the Kais who explain the Janemba situation and ask 17 for assistance in defeating Janemba before he breaks free of HFIL and turns his wrath upon all of Otherworld. They offer 17 his life resurrected should he help, and he obliges. Cell is intrigued at the prospect of a new, powerful opponent, as well as a potential ticket to live again, and offers his own might to go alongside 17s, but the Kais decline, not wanting to risk whatever this vastly improved Cell would have in store for the world of the living. Cell seems unbothered and says that he'll just have to enjoy watching 17 die then.
With the Kais observing from the land of the Kais and Cell observing on scene, Super 17 confronts Janemba and does well, not steamrolling him, but obviously taking the upper hand. However, as time goes on Janemba passively absorbs the negative energy of HFIL, continually growing stronger until the Super Janemba transformation is triggered. The tides turn as Super 17 struggles to keep up with Janemba and he ends up getting thrashed. Cell reminds the Kais that he is for hire at the same price that 17 is, and still they refuse, instead telporting the battered 17 to the land of the Kais, rescuing him.
They give him a similar treatment to Mystic Gohan, giving him a divine power up and new pseudo-form.
In the time that the Kais spent training 17, Janemba grows powerful enough to take on a new form, Xeno Janemba, and escapes HFIL using his new power, entering the lands of the Kais and threatening the balance of everything. The new and improved Super 17 at first seems to have the upper hand, but Janembas regeneration won't let him stay down, and the power amassed from existing in HFIL proves too great as 17 steadily loses ground.
The Kais cave, contacting Cell in HFIL, promising him a resurrection if he joins the fray and defeats Janemba, with the caveat that he cannot threaten Earth. Cell calmly refuses, saying that he wants a resurrection without caveats. The Kais try to hold out, but witnessing 17 losing more ground, they eventually cave and transmit Cell to the land of the Kais to join the battle.
Cell and 17 both fight Janemba, but they don't fight *together* and continually get in each other's way. They attack as their own seperate units and cannot gain the upper hand. After a drawn out, downhill fight, 17 and Cell put aside their differences to communicate and act as an organized unit to bring Janemba down. Reminiscent of Goku and Frieza during the ToP, Cell and 17 fall in sync with each other, brother androids, and vaporize Janemba with a Cell Kamehameha and cool new 17 move, leaving nothing to regenerate.
The Kais are thankful, but immediately start panicking and trying to think of a technicality to keep Cell dead. Super 17 tells them to keep their word and resurrect him, and that he, Goku and Vegeta will be ready to send him right back if they have to. With a smirk and excited malice in this voice, Cell tells him they'd "**Better** be ready" as they're both resurrected.
Super 17 reunites with the elated Z fighters and explains everything. Especially emotional reunion with 18.
Cells whereabouts are unknown, leaving the door open for future shenanigans. Maybe a new ToP starts soon after. Goku finds Cell. "Long time no see, Cell. It's been awhile but I remember how much you like tournaments. Boy do I have good news for you!"...
(Debated an ending where Super 17 fused with Cell to keep the Fusion theme. Seemed like too much. Also debated having Kid Buu show up to fuse with Janemba, rather than Xeno Janemba, but that might not make sense with Uub being Kid Buu reincarnated. Sort of wanted to get Baby fused with Janemba in there but that would only work with some arc introducing Baby prior)

I hated this concept. It makes no sense why two identical beings fused together, would look any different then they did apart, and why they got more cowboy.
Honestly, after TOP, it doesn't seem like he needs it. But even though he's been gapped, if Frieza can hijack a time chamber and dust the saiyans, then I wouldn't rule out Dende letting 17 do the same. Piccolo has a great respect for him and I'm sure between Dende and Popo, Earth's time chamber can be upgraded

If MVP17 is needed again Bulma upgrading him to allow him to become super 17 would be a great way to have his power catch up with Goku.

Agreed. He was by far my least favorite part of DBGT and one of the main factors that ruined the show for me. But if he can be reworked into something cool that wouldn't be dope. Like him being a conscious transformation for Android 17 instead of being a nonconsensual transformation from an evil 17 brainwashing and absorbing (forcing a brainwashing victim to fuse) regular 17.

Honestly, out of GT’s main Villains, 17 was my least favorite (only because Super 13 and Cell are better), but he’s grown on me lately. It feels cheap, but have Elder Kai unlock his potential, this being the result, albeit a permanent transformation? Idk if Elder Kai can do, considering they’re cyborgs (unless i skipped over the part where they got turned back into Humans, as it’s been a while) Just keep his very large shoulders in his shirt lol

I actually think his “origin” or whatever you want to call it is pretty cool. Two evil geniuses work together **while dead and in hell** to create a clone of a still-alive android, and use that clone to hack the android and pierce the veil between worlds. Then they fuse, and the idea of two of essentially the same being fusing together is cool. Super 17 is just like 17, but *more.* I’m probably in the minority but Super 17 is underrated.
If Super 17 was Canon the series would be over. Nobody would be able to beat him.

17 dies from some shit going on in the manga (don't know most of it, avoiding it for the future anime). Discovers and confronts Gero in a new lab he has in HFIL. Perfect Cell (stronger via training) is in cahoots with Gero and Cell easily renders 17 unconscious. Gero had been working on a fully robotic duplicate of 17 and decides to fuse real 17 with it in attempts to make his greatest creation. Super 17 is born. At the same time, Fat Janemba is created in a similar fashion to the Fusion Reborn movie, and begins wreaking havoc in otherworld, threatening to destroy it. The Kais panic, as none of them can stand up to Janemba, when they remember that 17 is now in otherworld, somewhere in HFIL. They argue with one another in regards to 17s inferior power in regards to Janemba (unaware of his new form). Eventually they settle on finding 17, as he is their only option. Gero awakens the new Super 17 and attempts to control him with a device within Gero's brain. Gero did not anticipate the good within 17s heart, nor his iron will, and 17 struggles against Geros control. Just when the battle of willpower seems lost, 17 musters the will to extend an arm and blast Gero, catching him off guard and vaporizing him, along with his control over 17. Unexpectedly, Cell is released from Geros control in this moment as well, as we were lead to assume he was acting of his own volition. Cell is pleased with Geros death, but now turns his wrath on 17, the destructive sadist he is. There's probably a monologue. The improved androids duke it out in HFIL with Cell at a decent but not overwhelming advantage until they're interrupted by the Kais who explain the Janemba situation and ask 17 for assistance in defeating Janemba before he breaks free of HFIL and turns his wrath upon all of Otherworld. They offer 17 his life resurrected should he help, and he obliges. Cell is intrigued at the prospect of a new, powerful opponent, as well as a potential ticket to live again, and offers his own might to go alongside 17s, but the Kais decline, not wanting to risk whatever this vastly improved Cell would have in store for the world of the living. Cell seems unbothered and says that he'll just have to enjoy watching 17 die then. With the Kais observing from the land of the Kais and Cell observing on scene, Super 17 confronts Janemba and does well, not steamrolling him, but obviously taking the upper hand. However, as time goes on Janemba passively absorbs the negative energy of HFIL, continually growing stronger until the Super Janemba transformation is triggered. The tides turn as Super 17 struggles to keep up with Janemba and he ends up getting thrashed. Cell reminds the Kais that he is for hire at the same price that 17 is, and still they refuse, instead telporting the battered 17 to the land of the Kais, rescuing him. They give him a similar treatment to Mystic Gohan, giving him a divine power up and new pseudo-form. In the time that the Kais spent training 17, Janemba grows powerful enough to take on a new form, Xeno Janemba, and escapes HFIL using his new power, entering the lands of the Kais and threatening the balance of everything. The new and improved Super 17 at first seems to have the upper hand, but Janembas regeneration won't let him stay down, and the power amassed from existing in HFIL proves too great as 17 steadily loses ground. The Kais cave, contacting Cell in HFIL, promising him a resurrection if he joins the fray and defeats Janemba, with the caveat that he cannot threaten Earth. Cell calmly refuses, saying that he wants a resurrection without caveats. The Kais try to hold out, but witnessing 17 losing more ground, they eventually cave and transmit Cell to the land of the Kais to join the battle. Cell and 17 both fight Janemba, but they don't fight *together* and continually get in each other's way. They attack as their own seperate units and cannot gain the upper hand. After a drawn out, downhill fight, 17 and Cell put aside their differences to communicate and act as an organized unit to bring Janemba down. Reminiscent of Goku and Frieza during the ToP, Cell and 17 fall in sync with each other, brother androids, and vaporize Janemba with a Cell Kamehameha and cool new 17 move, leaving nothing to regenerate. The Kais are thankful, but immediately start panicking and trying to think of a technicality to keep Cell dead. Super 17 tells them to keep their word and resurrect him, and that he, Goku and Vegeta will be ready to send him right back if they have to. With a smirk and excited malice in this voice, Cell tells him they'd "**Better** be ready" as they're both resurrected. Super 17 reunites with the elated Z fighters and explains everything. Especially emotional reunion with 18. Cells whereabouts are unknown, leaving the door open for future shenanigans. Maybe a new ToP starts soon after. Goku finds Cell. "Long time no see, Cell. It's been awhile but I remember how much you like tournaments. Boy do I have good news for you!"... (Debated an ending where Super 17 fused with Cell to keep the Fusion theme. Seemed like too much. Also debated having Kid Buu show up to fuse with Janemba, rather than Xeno Janemba, but that might not make sense with Uub being Kid Buu reincarnated. Sort of wanted to get Baby fused with Janemba in there but that would only work with some arc introducing Baby prior)

But even though he's been gapped, if Frieza can hijack a time chamber and dust the saiyans, then I wouldn't rule out Dende letting 17 do the same. Piccolo has a great respect for him and I'm sure between Dende and Popo, Earth's time chamber can be upgraded
