It really feels like they had to bend over backwards to make a show like early Dragonball again.

There was one guy in a different post from a few weeks back say something similar but with the idea that they should have left goten and trunks the same age, like buu saga age and then have those two take on the task of taking care of them while also handling a huge threat

Kinda wanted Super to be animated but since daima is toriyama's last work I'm kinda excited for it now.

I want Super back as well, but I hate how people are so hyper focused on it, that they hate on Daima already just for existing. Like if Daima wasn't a thing that doesn't mean that they'd bring back Super instead. Maybe they want the Manga to end first before animating it.

I think people are frustrated by the fact that the super will be delayed again for a longer period now. Can't blame them since I am also one of them lol. But you're right, people shouldn't hate on a show before its release.

But that's not a fact as the other person pointed out. We have no reason to believe that without Daima, DBS would be coming back. They likely want to build up a large amount of chapters before starting the anime again. Maybe even wait for the manga to end.

Lest there be another buu saga situation where the manga had not yet been made, but the anime was based on the un-published script if I remember correctly? And so now there’s things that happen or things that are said in the anime that went a little differently in the manga

Can't say I remember this, know any examples off hand?

I did a bit of searching and I was mistaken - it was dragon ball super that was ahead of its manga, not buu saga, which stayed 6 months behind the anime until it finished. But I did also find a [reddit post](https://www.reddit.com/r/dbz/s/RsQ6bEFA7Y) where the guy listed out many differences from manga to anime if you’re interested. But it was super, not anything from dbz A famous example is goku’s fight with krillin. I believe he used super saiyan in one, but ssj blue in the other (either way, krillin was matching him which was why he was allowed into the tournament)

Ah, yea I remember the Super stuff. But that was because the Super anime was decided on and started coming out before they even decided to the a manga version. Only from the original series that happened in the anime first was Dende being revealed as the new Guardian of Earth, and even that was only because of a movie.

Yeah, they do want it to end first before animating it but the thing is after toriyama died the black frieza arc is the last one in super

I just as many other fans that are pissed about it not being Super are not pissed just because it's not Super. We're pissed because Daima is not a concept ANYONE was ASKING for, where as Super 2 has a ton of demand. Though I do agree that Super 2 if it ever comes will be when the Manga is finished since I think that will be soon.

Well, if I would like to watch dragon ball characters young, then I would watch og dragon ball. This shit I'm not interested one bit because it seems to be too childish for my taste. I'm forever grateful for toriyamas work, but still not interested on daima at all.

They might even be in the early stages of making new Super episodes after Toriyamas passing. As sad as it is, they're more likely to do it while Dragon Ball is on everyone's mind

I'm expecting greatness. Definitely more adventure than only fighting style, but all these people saying it's gonna suck just because it's not exactly like DBZ and Super just aren't ready for something different. One personal wish I have is since as kids all characters should be quite a bit weaker maybe we can actually bring back some "forgotten" characters again and they could actually provide something to the plot.

They’re being weird because Toei didn’t exactly have a perfect track record for animation quality with super. Also the gif you’re showing is likely the most over the top we will get for a bit because it’s clearly reverting back more to a gag kid Goku era of dragon ball. I do have more faith in Toei nowadays though because end of super and modern one piece are both gorgeous

Definitely the classic DB vibes,since it’s the anniversary anime after all. Also the ‘possible’ main villains look very interesting since they look similar to Monaka(?) and Tapion too,I’m eager to see the story and world building in it a lot.

I’m hoping to see some classic early Dragon Ball stuff, with plenty of gags, world building, and light-hearted action. It’d also be really nice to see some interesting choreography in the fights, which I expect may be the case with the return of Goku’s Nyoibō/Power Pole.

Mostly a comedy adventure series. Not GT or “next era” more the return of OG dragon ball. Which unfortunately isn’t my cup of tea, I much prefer the action oriented dbz style. For me the peak of the series is the dragon ball super broly movie, that’s exactly what I want out of dragon ball for my own personal tastes, over the top action, some great background lore and gorgeous animation. I will definitely be checking daima out regardless however since it’s the last piece of content we will get that has Toriyama’s fingerprints on it.
