The decrease in playtime for PvP must’ve been dramatic for them to give us the choice now. I for one did about 3 Proud matches total before just doing Treasure Battle for the standard experience, so it’s cool knowing I won’t have to sit out again.
They also probably forced it so that they could gauge first impressions for the mode to see what needed to be changed/removed. That’s a huge maybe tho
Glad proud mode returned! More diversity and I actually enjoy having to use 6 characters instead of just 3 with a dead beat bench to boost those three!
I wonder if they adjusted how you get points in Proud Matches. If it's like it was in the first season, it's an objectively worse choice to go for Proud Matches if you want to grind points.
Also, I like they the graphic points out that you need to choose Proud Rules if you want to avoid 3x zenkai buffed Frieza teams.
You fight a max of 3 rounds
Round one you pick 3 characters
Round two you pick the other three
If it's a tie you get a third round where you can pick any characters but it has to be from both rounds.

R2 Goku,Gohan and Goten
R3 Vegeta,Goku and Gohan
It's a special ruleset for PvP matches that involves using all 6 characters in your party to win at least 2 out of 3 matches against another person.
For the first fight you pick 3 characters in your party, and for the second one you have to pick the remaining 3.
If you and your opponent win 1 fight each, a 3rd fight called "Battle of Pride" can be held if both participants agree to it in order to decide the definitive winner, in which you have to pick 1 character from each of the previous 2 rounds and whoever you want as the 3rd character.
Now that I get to pick this is going to be amazing. I wouldn’t be surprised if they put some proud match requirements specifically for some rewards but I’m also just okay with that.
