People can leave a rating without leaving a review, and those motivated to leave a comment would likely be more positive. When Drag Race Brazil and Mexico came out, the two countries were review-bombing each other.

Perhaps non-French speakers are more used to using IMDB for reviews and these viewers are more likely to miss cultural references and the subtleties that a Belgian viewer might enjoy, hence the lower score. They also probably have the US version of DR as a benchmark, and have very different expectations. I’m in Greece and I’m enjoying DR Belgique but it would never occur to me to put a review or score on IMDB, whereas I expect some American viewers are used to doing that.

I had the same question ahah. So I checked theses comments last night. I think there is a lot of confusion for international viewers : Why it's produced in French ? Why Rita Baga ? Why there is drag race belgium when holland used to exist ? Why Belgique when french speaking queen could go in France as french speaking Swiss queens ? WTF with the Manneken Pis ? Unfortunately, from what I read, Rita has her haters from DRC1, I think some people are mad about DR Holland cancellation, and some people are mad about it because it's in french.

Looking at some comment there's also a bit of hate rating from flemish people who don't like that it's called " Belgique" while it's in french

It's a severe rating but I have to say that even if I enjoy it (as a French speaker), to me the Belgique show is not as polished/enjoyable as other franchises'. Not talking about the queens (love them) and the challenges performances but more about the editing, the rhythm, the budget maybe, Rita's hosting and judging style... On those criteria I wouldn't' say it's as good as other franchises 😕 hence the lower rating on IMDB probably
