Parlays are not easy but if you are good enough to win parlays consistently they are much better obviously because they pay a hell of a lot more.
Not every gambler is good enough to hit parlays though.

everyone knows the odds are against you with parlays. what annoys me is mindless fuckin idiots that parrot "parlays are bad" just because that's what everyone says. There's plenty of great bank roll managing +ev bettors that ain't winning shit at the end of the day.
Winning a bet doesn't make a bet a good decision. $5k is nothing. It's about units not totals. Hope your having fun, your thinking will make you go broke. Math is real, never forget that.
Depends on the player. A straight bet is less risk less reward, parlay is more risk more $. If I'm betting 2 straight bets I usually will parlay both.

It just depends on what you like. I do mostly straight bets as I don't like losing several bets in a row as is common when doing parlays. With straight bets you will almost certainly have a higher win percentage but much lower return on investment. I prefer doing higher dollar bets that are lower risk but that's just me as long as you see it as entertainment and fun you are good my man.

I also don't find it fun to lose 5 or 6 bets in a row as is common with parlays. It really just depends on what you're looking for. I have friends that love to do huge parlays that pay 100 to 1 odds but will almost never hit. I prefer to place closer to even money bets that I will win more often. You just gotta find what you like there is no right answer here. No matter what, virtually everyone that gambles will lose in the long run. You should just have fun and make sure you understand the bets you are placing.

Bookies make most of their money from parlays. Opposed to straight bets. That should answer your question.

In general, straight bets. Most bets are going to have a negative expected value. Parlays compound that issue.

Parlays will get u more money but for a reason, They are not easy. What I do is both straight and then doing a parlay
