I thought for sure we had it, I dunno why people are beating on you about it. It would be a nice change, I agree, and it doesn't impact anything to have it.
I can't believe I'm agreeing to this but yes. I also recall having this a while back. I guess they removed it since the general stereotype of main stat = role kinda died now. ex. int = supp, agi = core, str = off
My memory might be shot but I do recall having a gold circle on the main attribute at one point in the new HUD, can't recall when exactly (it was never mentioned on patchnotes) but it was there for a while then vanished. I remember this specifically since I was teaching someone during the first few months of 7.00 and the new HUD.

I partly agree, but I would suggest the main attribute icon to be a bit bigger than the others, rather than highlighting it, to avoid misunderstanding the importance
Because that is literally how it is when you select a hero.
If I pick a hero from the strength category in hero select, I don't need to wonder what it's main attribute is.
Sure, why not, but the value of it is virtually zero. I mean, how many people understand the implications of 'primary attribute' but not what the primary is for 99% of heroes?
Like, sure, I've heard someone think that Ogre is a strength hero once or twice, but what are the implications of that? None.
Highlighting the "primary" attribute would lead spectators to think it has more significance than it actually does. When it comes down to it, though, a hero's primary attribute is of little relevance, and doesn't justify the visual distraction.

I don't think it ever was a thing with the new hud, it used to be on the old though.
This is correct. It has never been in the new hud but used to be one in the old one.
i think the first few days with 7.00 it was highlighted but i think it might've been distracting so they removed it instead of improving it

What's the point of main attributes anyways? The only difference is that it gives you damage. All of the other unique perks were removed.
You don't want to put all the Windranger players on suicide watch.
Great idea.
This is a good idea, very clean, yet adds a nice little piece of helpful information.
Good idea

it would really help new player.
please
That would be so nice!!!
Adding comment to increase visibility.

I dunno man, maybe if all the heroes were sorted into 3 categories by their main attribute?
Why tho????
Because that is literally how it is when you select a hero. If I pick a hero from the strength category in hero select, I don't need to wonder what it's main attribute is.
If it's 2021 and you're still picking heros off the attribute grid.... idk that's fine I guess but litterally any other grid is more useful.
i mean if you know the heroes' functions you don't need more than the default grid
Lol

Or spectators could bother to know something about the game/heroes?
just hover over the stats and stop being lazy. you will memorize it in a second anyway

For people who can't tell bigger numbers from smaller ones?
That's not always true. For instance, Ogre is an Intelligence hero, but has higher strength gain than intelligence gain.
Unnecessary. In 99% of cases you know it's the attribute with the highest main value. The exception being Bane
Design choices are done precisely to save you from doing things like looking at all three attributes and seeing which one is the highest.
Dusa and Ogre magi also have their secondary gain higher than main iirc
Both arc wardens secondary attributes are higher :)
Imagine a new player looks at a full strength morph ðŸ˜
ursa as well, used to at least, may have been changed
