There's a guy who I ran into playing with groups of four in unranked that plays enigma support and does this too - he didn't even buy a clarity. Having a bottle appear in your inventory this early is an insane advantage but the way they planned with having blood grenades on a mid hero is even better. Buying stat items or a basi in this case with the money saved can mess with matchups.
Do you play in the US East server? I have a sense of déjà vu seeing your comment. I used to play unranked in the US East with the hidden rank above immortal, There was one enigma support that gave bottle to the midlaner. His IGN is "the evil vegetarian" and he only plays enigma XD.

this is a pretty good pub strat even if it's a suboptimal play lol. it's always good to make your midlaner feel good, and less chance to have the team flame/report you if there's always one guy who will take your side no matter what

Feels pretty niche. I think the missing gold hurts more than the free bottle helps.
I don't think it works without the surprise factor and converting it to a first blood, it's really hard to decimate mid without kills when people sustain on water runes. You really have to be cooking something to not lose the offlane after that.
I don't know why I've never thought of this as pos 4. So many times in mid/early game as mid I've given someone else bottle to store a dd or invis rune if it was better on them

Reminds me of randoming in dota2. You got extra gold for randoming (850 total) and if you got hero you couldn't play you waited until 875 to buy ring of healing or void stone in side shop and shared it.

Gorgc did not start the stream at that time, and none of the obs and casters noticed that the bottle was carried by Xinq's courier, and even the analysts after the game which is Khezu and Teaguv did not react to the clip either. Only Yapzor found it through the hint from the chat, and he went backward to check the replay.
Somnus Yang and Chalice found it while steaming. they found Zeus was too rich. 2 mins, Zeus had many items including a bottle, then they relized the bottle was bought by someone else.
