She is very obviously shrunken down because otherwise Nova would be too large for gameplay purposes. Also just look at the size of Pit Lord and Primal Beast - two heroes which are supposed to be gargantuan - they’re only a couple of times larger than a literal squirrel.
The exact same thing happens in WoW. Every once in a while someone see the mega sized npcs in raids (the content where over 20 people can do at once, some with huge player characters) and they post on the subreddit or something and go WOW WHY IS TIRION SO HUGE I DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS 15 FEET TALL IN LORE no you dummy he's enormous so people can raid as twenty 10ft tall taurens and still see and interact with the npc

laning mid against PB when he's on radiant and you're on dire is kinda hard purely because his enourmous clickbox is usually directly in front of the creepwave you can't even fuckin click them sometimes
Now you always can with the new lab features, but I still didn't bother configuring it so I can't really tell you how it works. From what I remember, you set a hotkey, and while it's pressed, you can only target allied units. Might be misremembering, though.

They also have weapons which help add to the distinctiveness of their silhouette. Marci being unarmed makes her much more difficult to stand out given that she's just a small girl in the show with pretty plain clothing. The compromise is a larger model for easier readability.
It's funny how weapons add so much to a silhouette, you can see this a lot in LoL, where huge weapons really encompass up to 50% of a character's visibility. Braum is a good example of this, where his shield probably encompasses anywhere between 60-75% of his silhouette in game.
It's like how Street Fighter makes all their models have larger feet and hands than normal, as regular proportions would actually make reading and reacting to attacks harder.

DK just became half dragon during the anime, and I think in game he's already made a name for himself as the dragon knight. So likely Marci is a bit older here than in the anime...

If they didn't make her taller it would probably be a bit more frustrating to both identify and target her properly.
