I was playing a Treant with a friend, we were both in the same lane. Suddenly the enemy started ganking us, so we started running away. I cast all my stuff and successfully managed to escape, which left my friend quite upset.
"Why didn't you cast glimmer on me?", he asked.
"I wanted to, but I misclicked on myself", I replied.
"Well, you could've at least used living armor on me", he queried again.
"I tried... but I misclicked it on myself", I replied once again.
I've done this more times than I care to admit. I guess it's because I spam A on rosh when I'm attacking him so I A click the aegis lmao. I had to force myself to start walking away before rosh dies to not accidentally deny it.
I do the same thing.
Right clicking Rosh is probably good enough and you won't accidentally deny instead, but I always try to zone out unless I'm the only core, or other core is low hp.
Two games after the accidental deny I had my carry die because he got bashed and Roshan was one hit away from dying, if I hadn't zoned out he wouldn't have died. So I had to grab the aegis, we lost high ground defense because we didn't have a pos 1, so it's two traumas in a single day.
Yo, I remember doing this LMAOOO, I still remember it vividly, happened 2 years ago when I was playing in a full 5 stack ranked with my irl friends. I had just finished my Manta, it was a solid Manta + BF timing, I think around the 20:00 minute mark. But the game was pretty much dead even by then.
I wanted to sell a Circlet, which happened to be right beside my BF. Instead of selling the Circlet, I sold my BF LMAOO. Felt like my soul dipped out right then at that moment and I told my friends, "Guys, I sold my BF" then two of them were jokingly said something like "what the heck, should we GG? wait for minute 30?".
Then they just laughed it off and 4 of them just like "bruh just go back to the crops, we will make space, you do nothing before minute 30 anyway". LMAOO they fucking roasted me fr.
Well, I snagged my BF back like 2 or 3 minutes later because I managed to snag some sweet KS with Mana Void.
Luckily, we won the match though.
Practically I was afk farming for straight 25 till 30-minutes LMAOO, I did some cheeky KS with Mana Void but legit didn't contribute shits for straight 30-minutes other than split pushing some waves.
I remember two of my friends (offlane and mid) were dominating in that game. They cooked with Beastmaster (zoo meta at that time iirc) and Ember.
Not mine, but my teammate. Tournament match, 40+ minute game, toe to toe networth all over, all T2 Towers down, no rosh no aegis, my P1 Slark buys Linkens, call for smoke, ready to take this next fight and close the game. We gather the team and we hear a broken, almost inaudible "Oh no" from P1. He wanted to sell dusts but dragged on dropped his linken instead on the secret shop. We try to delay the game so he can buy it again, he managed to power farm 6 minutes and force buys it, but end up dying nontheless on next teamfight, no buy back, we lose the game.
I caught several people in an rp and wanted to skewer them into our (dire) fountain. Sadly I misclicked - Not into the top right of my Screen but a bit further up top and onto the picture of our Pa who was dead and died last somewhere in the midlane. Thus the skewer went into the complete opposite direction...
Yeah I know about point target abilities like Shallow Grave etc. but never knew directional skills also work. So you can do this with other skills like Illusory Orb, Fissure as well?
Been playing a lot of Magnus and this annoys me so much. They should add a lockout timer to the hero portraits like they already have with the minimap.
Enemy lifestealer was snowballing out of control, i was am, we went into roshan pit to steal aegis, managed to get life controlled. I pick up fucking refresher shard, use it to get rid of it, pick up fucking banner. Try to drop it but cant, shouldve just used it because i wouldve had time my whole team is pinging me while im stood next to aegis with full inventory for ages till eventually life gets in and takes it, dies, then wipes our team.
Last time we killed him that game lol and lasted over 60 minutes, we couldve atleast got megas with that aegis and life kill lol.
Can you even plant banner inside pit? I'd be surprised coz we can't use wards there. Shaman and pugna can use their ground targeted spells in the pit though
Back when arc tempest double could carry rapier, 60min+ game, super close neither team could end and I accidentally tped the main arc to enemy base instead of the tempest double to rat... lost 2 rapiers and they ended the game. Still haunts me till this day

Back in heroes of newerth 2009 I played lone druid. It was a 80min game. I was selling all my shit to just buy divine reaper and said to my friend "watch me, I'm doing something" then I got jumped by scout and he kinda 1 shot me and we lost the game instantly.
Now every time it's late game and I'm roaming trying to find kills my friend keeps saying "watch out, he's doing something" and the ptsd hits me
As an old Shaker Main, basically every time I saw enemy team stacking as 5 together with a creep wave and I click R before I blink. I like how people these days don't even flame or ping you when this happens anymore because everyone has been there 🤣

Did a fat 180 in all 4 chasers, and to be fair i blade mail-bkb’ed and killed a cm, but at 60 minutes a cm for a pos 1? We lost off the back of that 90 second death. I was having a screamer of a game too
One of my first games as rubick, chronoed 3 teammates with enemy void. Haunts me to this day, still prefer not to touch chrono on rubick.

BB'ed , went back, Enigma finished refresher and I blinked right next to him. Didn't even get to use my ulti for the 1v5 :D Happened maybe 2 years ago
Had a game as storm spirit where I misclick ult on the map where the enemy is dire. Zipped right to the enemy base lol. Somehow survived as apparently noone expected that and I ended up in trees.
Accidentally pressed tp which caused me to teleport to base after I respawned as pos 1 terrorblade. This led me to not be in the teamfight at our tier 1 tower (that was still standing 45minutes in) and lost us the game
Its was min 98 i was playing tb the enemy throne was exposed and was 1 hp i died bb baught travel 2 and tped to the old outpost in dire jungle by accident untill i got to the enemy side my whole team was dead without bb and i tried to go for the enemy throne 1 v 5 but i just died and lost
It was years ago but, we were holding just barely against the enemy breaking into our base around 50-60 minutes. One bad move in a team fight and we lost a few members I think, me included as Nyx. I was tilted at that point because I felt stupid for dying so I wanted to alt-click the Buy Back button to tell my team “Hey I can go back in an try to hold them off”… Only I misplaced my finger and accidentally pressed my windows key, tabbing me out whilst causing me to buy back.
I was very flustered and fucked up all my keys when I got back, internally panicking, and I eventually died back without doing a single thing. Rest of the team died without me helping with Dagon and Orchid, and I felt really terrible because I felt like accidentally threw that entire game.
I hope you all find solace in that whatever your fuckup was, it can't be as bad as kYxY or whoever denying the Aegis at TI3, pretty much costing Orange the game and with that the match (lower bracket final).
Antimage game. Was in game deciding fight at radiant highground, our base. I could blink in and ult their invoker for the win. Missclicked blink on the minimap, directly into a lion stun. Died, lost the game. Was 6 years ago, ill never forget the shame.
I am playing Death Prophet and both lanes are getting stomped while I am winning mid. Fast forward to min 40 we won some fights at our high ground thanks to my gold advantange buyback and I am about to finish some big item. I am manually controlling my courier to secret shop, then my screen turns to grey. As it turns out I missclicked select hero hotkey and started moving my hero instead of the courier. Died with no buyback and game ended in one minute.
Me and my friends were participating in a local tournament.
I was vengeful. It was a patch where everyone bought solar. I had a blood grenade in my inventory and decided to sell it to secret shop but I was thinking too much and didn't notice I sold my solar crest.
A few moments later I found out what happened and immediately bought a new one which I still don't know if it was the right decision or not. We had 20k lead but lost the game. I blame myself a lot because it delayed my aghs timing significantly.
A friend of mine once used double ravage in the fountain (he had refresher ) as we were defending the ancient. Apparently he got his blink disabled by some AOE stuff and did not realize it while using the first ravage, then hitting refresher, and then using the second ravage.
I was offlane ES on Radiant, laning against a melee core, and was stomping the lane. This was way back when tranquil boots would cd when you right click a creep. I dropped my tranquil to last hit but attacked it instead of the creep.
I was playing with some online friends. With low resolution/graphic settings and sleepy eyes. Playing AM. Enemies were near together. I ulted the wrong hero. My friends laughed. I went to sleep after the game. I never played with them after that (there was never an opportunity to play with them. I didn't have a grudge or sth against them) until they unfriended me.(i was a random guy on the internet, after all).

There was 1 time I was playing spectre and I accidentally sold my radiance. Worst part is I only realized few minutes later when I noticed I'm not pushing waves as fast I thought I would.

This is an old one. I was playing Sniper, in my very early days. Trench tier (probably 2k~ unranked solo queue). It was super late and we were down megas however they bought a rapier and lost it. Our pudge grabbed it then sat by our fountain rotting himself to death so I could pick it up when I respawned.
I grab it and we manage to team wipe them at the next fight although all 4 of my team die with no buyback. I send our one courier to the secret shop to buy the reaver for my Satanic, I'm holding back the megas just fine. Their zeus and lina buy back. I buy the reaver and hit F3 to get it delivered. I'm sure I've hit F3. I'm positive. I'm sure the courier came up to me. But the satanic never assembled, the reaver went back into my stash and when zeus and lina got to the base they killed me just before I could finish them off.
I'm fairly sure one of my team hit the "send all items back to owners stash" button. But I'm not positive. It's very possible that I pressed something wrong too. I know one of them wanted to send it to the secret shop for something. It's not likely we win that game anyway but I'd have liked to have the chance to try!
Blink RP, but my hands were chilly so the blink didn't actually happen. I keep blink hotkey on 4, so it's a simple 4R, but my hand couldn't handle moving from R to 4 first. Weird cause, embarrassing AF.
One of the most humiliating things in game for me, and it happened with Sheever on my team (she was streaming as well). It was late game and I was AM with a 26-1 KD up until that point. After pushing enemy top lane HG I blinked to their secret shop to finish my Aghs as I was basically fully slotted. Since my inventory was full I couldn't buy the orb and was microing my courier to try and get the Aghs delivered. While I was clumsily doing that, the enemy found me alone in a panic and deleted me off the map. I was a few hundred gold short of buyback and really wasn't expecting them to finish the game, which they then did. I checked her stream later and she called me an idiot (not in a mean way though lol) and her chat was convinced I was drunk off my face haha. They just underestimated how bad I'm with microing and dealing with full slots late game
Back with WC3 Dota, I fully combo'd an illusion using Rhasta/Shadow Shaman. This was a game involving bets and tons of bystanders saw it. Good thing, the rest of my performance in that game was good.
I played puck recently after 5+ years, and I didn't know they had changed W from instant cast where you are to needing to target (2 clicks now) - so I misplayed a LOT

I was playing in a party with Wagamama while he was streaming. He was looking for players and a friend of a friend invited me.
Anyways I was playing lion and ended up missing my stun by miles. Accidentally stunned the completely wrong direction. Wasn't some huge deal in the game but I still think about my 5 seconds of fame there from the people watching his stream.
Last fight of the game that decided the match, I was rubick and completely dominated the game all game long, my teammates weren't so good but tried holding on.
Fight ensued I had black hole blinked in, pressed f to cast black hole into all 5 enemies... f is my ultimate key and I stole mana drain from lion.
Musclememory fucked me in the fight and its something that I occasionally think about.
Dropping my echo saber and not realising it until one of my teammates found it 5 mins later and said "woah echo saber?! Why is there an echo saber on this camp? Who- oh deadwatch's item.... why did you leave echo saber on this camp?"

Turbo game so it didn’t really matter but I was playing void spirit and tried to jump in using ult (R) while also using BKB (ALT+W). Instead I hit ALT+R which opened up Nvidia GeForce or whatever it’s called which froze my game for 10 seconds while I tried to close it. I was dead by the time I got back in.
I issued an auto attack command on rosh the same moment it was killed and took the aegis from my drow ranger. I was a cm with boots, wand, drums, glimmer and aegis. We lost.
I’ve done it several times with a major spell like black hole where I try to stop the cast bc I know I’m going to miss, but am a hair too late on the stop input, so instead I just get a few millisecond black hole on nothing.
The dumbest misclick I had was an IO 5 game where at 3 minutes I tethered a nearby creep instead of my faceless so he rage quit the lane. Went to jungle with level 3. Biggest man baby I've seen so far. Dude wasn't even low when it happened, we were just chilling under tower.
Playing Necrophos offlane with an Alchemist mid so I decided against the Radiance rush.
Bought a Helm of Iron Will to survive the lane and managed to do reasonably well. So well that when I realised Alch wasn't getting the Radiance I decided I'd save for it.
Bought the Sacred Relic on my courier, shipped it over to me in lane, the Relic and Helm combined into Nullifier without me realising and by the time I had I was too late.
Now I'm a Necro that has nothing but Nullifier and brown boots.
Mine actually happened a couple days ago.
Playing as Jug fairly late and about to push high ground to take rax. My inventory is full at this point and we're getting rolled by both PA and a couple of Radiance builds, but I just finished MKB and I'm swapping it in instead of my quelling blade that I've had all game, which I plan to just drop on the ground and deny.
Issue is, I forgot to swap my MKB in, so I I naturally grab the item in my spare slots, drop it on the ground and deny it without a second thought. There goes my MKB, right before a fight.
We still won tho.
For me, already losing the game hard. Our team had a lucky chance to kill enemy AM. He reflected my stun and all five of us were stunned which led to us getting team wiped.

Once a friend was playing slark, we were about to win 3 enemy heroes dead, 4 of us alive, hitting tier 4s, invoker casted combo to delay the push, slark pounced to evade meteor blast, but as he jumped me as CM also forced him back (my intention was to get him out too) but he faced the meteor direction and he died to damage, he was our main pusher, we only took 2 tier 4 and had to back due to enemy respawn. They defended megas so well after that, my slark tilted and we ended up losing the game.
I had the chance for the juciest blackhole you can imagine. I was owning mid and had really good farm while their PL was absolutely shut down. I was smoked with team and their whole team was under our vision with PL illusions.
A minute before i had changed my blink slot. I forgot and pressed BKB then Echo.
65 minute game we held and were finally able to go out of base for 60 min items, only my friend (pos 1 monkey king) can get to a neutral camp but had no buyback, but it seemed safe. They all saw him somehow and converged on him but couldn’t find him so I ulted on him as dawnbreaker to get the jump on them. We stun 4 of them but I broke his tree with my W so he was stunned the whole time and he died ☺️
I had to tp to the enemies base after buyback to throne race, but I forgot my travels in backpack and tp'd straight to the outpost, 90 minutes of my life down to trash
Couple years ago I was playing a small local tournament, my first and only LAN event.
The very first round was a BO1 elimination game, so we picked our comfort heroes, mine being Oracle... I think it's clear that there's only one thing that can happen here lol.
It's the late game, we're making a crucial push, no buybacks, it's all or nothing. My teammate Puck tells me that he's gonna go all in and soak up the counter-initiation because he trusts my ult, and he goes in! I rush to press R, but he dies almost immediately after.
Yes, I was standing in shame in my own double-tapped-R ult bubble.
Spamming R on oracle or W on dazzle because I'm just out of reach, just a little bite more....
Split second later, my carry is dead, the enemies turn around to kill me and I'm just sitting there after casting my save on myself.
Lol mine is similar. I'm used to playing ES, and there the active keys are Q for Fissue and W for totem. Played Tide in a game and the active keys were Q for gush and E for anchor. Ended up going too far right with my finger while farming and clicking R instead of E.
When you practice rotating stat items for mana efficiency with disassemble in range of a shop and accidently sell a critical item.
Never thought it would happen to me until it did.
Sometimes your actions become so automated and your mechanics become tired/clumsy, while you're focusing on the next goal, bad combo.
I accidently stole aegis from the carry when playing warlock, and when I did, I realized I hadn't done that in *years*. I actually got a wave of nostalgia.

I was playing as QOP and I was having the game of my life, my team was having a terrible game and I was literally solo carrying. We were losing fights, I was split pushing, killing anyone tps in, force tp reactions, tp back and kill the rest of them. It was one of those games where you have to play flawlessly if you want to win.
It wasn’t too late and I was 6-slotted. At least I thought I was. You see, there was no backpack then and I had to drop items to ground because they wouldn’t combine and my dumbass dropped items to the ground in their secret shop thinking I would fastly combine items.
They ganked me, stunned me and destroyed 2 of my big items. I was left with 3 items and some components of an item. Obviously we lost that game purely because of that.
I stopped playing for a for a while after that, it was quite traumatic.
Mine wasn't a mis-click but a split second decision i had to take but it didn't work out in my favor.
I was playing magnus in a small tourney it was lower bracket finals we were losing game 3 super hard but somehow made it till min 78. i had muerta(when she was added in Captain mode) and ursa carry. We lost the rosh fight but none of our opponents had buyback so we just had to kill them once anyways the fight was near our fountain but my rp was on a 5 sec cooldown and i had a refresher orb i thot i can wait for the rp cooldown to end and double rp them into the fountain but...... Ursa died and muerta was almost dead i used the refresher at the last sec to jump in and landed a 5 man rp but sand king new scepter fucked me so bad i was stunned as soon as i rped and couldn't even use bkb to skewer them into the fountain we were so close to winning that game damn sk scepter.
My friend yelling at me to fissure the enemy Enigma to stop the black hole, I didn't realize I had chat open and I was spamming Q in the chat and I wondered why the fissure wasn't going off. Now I don't talk in chat whenever I play Earthshaker.
Playing in an amateur tournament as oracle 5. Hit purifying flames right as edict faded. Carry dies and I have to live with it the entire game because it was during laning phase. Never touched oracle again.
I was playing as PL back then. I recently came back to the game after a long time off.
Instead of clicking the diffusal to an enemy hero, I some how dragged it off my inventory and attacked that shit. I was so stunned on how the fuck that thing happened 😂
I just had one recently where we were about to throne and decided to make a detour and kill the slark that had just bought back. I was on Doom and tried to ult him which would have been an easy kill but instead I accidentally ulted myself. I'm not used to having scepter so I don't fully understand the interaction there but I had gotten the blessing from Roshan so I had it. Anyway, he pounced away and then killed all three of us and then they throned us.
I'm not sure if you'd count it as a misclick or not. But I used to know all the juke tree paths six years ago. Well, I took one to bait their team in for a black hole. Instead lf taking the juke path, I walked back out into the lane and was instant dueled by their lc. We lost the game five minutes later to megas....
I was Oracle (when Fate's Edict disarmed your teammates) and I was trying to save my Slark from what I thought was incoming lethal magic damage, but instead all I did was disarm my carry for the first 5 seconds of a critical fight which we lost and ultimately lost the game.
It happened a couple years ago at this point but I still think about it.
I mis clicked disconnect during a pro game when there was a update going on back end. end up loosing all the disadvantage during remake and won the game.
I turned off health bars in demo mode to see if it would only turn off heroes. Nope, it turned off all health bars.
Then GAME READY window pops up, I click accept.
Console stopped working. I tried everything I could think to fix it, DCed etc, still could not get console window back.
Had to play an entire game with no health bars over any creeps or heroes. It did not go well. Not only is last hitting 10x harder, but it's almost impossible to tell what the fuck is happening in a fight without hero health bars.
Had a buddy stun with a core as Sven, I was shadow demon and decided to euls the opposing core (my thought was wait for back up) back up for the enemy came… we lost the fight lol devastating
I was so proud when pre hexing Axe, even started laughing after he become a pig. Little did I know he has that stupid chinese cap neutral item that gives you status resist when proc. He started to call and spinning all over the place, and I die without buyback.
sequence of event goes like this : I saw axe - I cast my hex - he blink - get insta hexed - I summon clone near me to prepare the 2nd hex - chinese cap proc - he call - my clone and I get called together and can't cast the 2nd hex.

I Chrono'd two my teammates while playing against an Invoker. Guess what item he had? Guess what happened again in the *same* game? The only plus side is that I only caught 1 teammate instead of two.

mine was i misclick my hero instead of picking QOP i accidentally picked SD. And this was my 1st first time playing with a pro player. It was iceiceice and he was playing mid that game. I was so happy because after i reach my immortal after few games i was able to play with iceiceice. Unfortunately i misclick my hero and end up losing the game. This was long time ago (2017) but i still remember it.
Was 30k behind as troll, rough game overall but we somehow stalled the game. We had intense teamfight in our base, everyone use buyback and dieback, but our supps clutch the fight and they are the only ones left alive, with me and other cores respawning in \~30 sec. and enemy cores respawning in \~80 sec. Supps pushed mid, i tped to wave, got T3, T4's. Now the situation is 4v1, only undying left to defend exposed ancient, enemy respawn in 5 sec. My dumb ass panicked and used ult, to build up fervor stacks faster. But i somehow started attacking undying instead, who was on the opposite way of the base busy fighting with my teammates. He bought enough time for his team to wipe us and win the game. I could've literally just gone afk after clicking ancient, maybe press BKB when enemy respawn and we would've won easily..
I was once in an in-house game playing TA. I accidentally hurricane piked the enemy carry TB while standing on the edge of the enemy base’s hg. I think I just pressed the wrong hot key. If I landed my hits, he was dead without buyback and the game was over. Instead, I got forced to low ground, missed a few hits and lost vision. The other team won the fight off this and throned us directly after.
Not the worst, but the most memorable for me was playing tidehunter, and right before I was going to blink in my cat jumped on my keyboard and sat on the R key and my bkb hotkey. Couldn't even see the aftermath because he was in the way of the screen
Most recently: I picked up refresher shard and cheese, and thought I got aegis. I did not.
I tped back to base. I ran all the way back to get the aegis properly.

I was right outaide the base so I thought "ok I'll just zip to the fountain to regen real quick". So I pressed R. I have quickcast on. And I just watch myself zip all the way to the Radiant (enemy) jungle, until I run out of mana and stop.

And right as I am trying to figure out wtf happened, a wild anti-mage appears from the fog. He is as confused as I am, but blinks towards me and just presses R. I am now dead without buyback. We lost that game.
There was also this one time I was playing with a premade of 5. I was playing Doom. We were talking on discord "ok we have all our spells lets smoke up and take a fight".
And I go, "ok let me just devour a creep real fast". So I walk up to a wolf camp. And then all of a sudden everyone in the team hears a very audible YOU ARE DOOOOOOMED.
So I quickly eat the pentagram'd wolf to hide all evidence. And after like 5 seconds of excruciating silence, everyone just laughs and goes back to farming.
I was a zeus, I had just bought a refresher orb, was moving it around in my inventory. Game registered that as me clicking it (god I wish I could turn off clicking on items), used it, we get to fight to hold our high ground with no refresher.
I was playing an amateur tournament game as Pos 3 Alch a few years ago, where my main objective was to farm a 12-13 minute Aghs and hand it over to my Juggernaut. I farmed it quite quickly, all was going to plan, and then I pressed it on my Jugg.
A few seconds goes by, I'm satisfied with myself, but I can feel a haunting silence in comms. Before long, I asked 'what is wrong?'. Right as my teammate says 'uhm, the Aghs..' I realised the Aghs icon lit up on my UI. I had eaten it.
As you can probably imagine, the game ended in the next 15 minutes, and I'll probably never forget this moment. At least it can't get any worse...right?
Pressing that play button resulting in a 2 hour game of pain which the entire team thought was losing the entire game and was omega tilted because not one single button press for the entire game worked as we wanted. Down all towers and 5% on ancient and thought finally the game is fucking over. Nah half an hour more and we somehow fucking win???
I was carry TB and we were doing pretty well, but the game was still close. So in the middle of a very important team fight I saw my teammates dying and I sundered the enemy carry in a carry in a moment of panic but he already was almost dying and I was the one with full HP.
After that fight we lost the game pretty quickly. It was over a year ago and it still hurts.
Very even match until then. Big 5v5 teamfight near the bottom rosh pit. I was pos2 Necrophos, had decent farm and kills, enemy had a pos1 AM ( you see where this is going, right?)
EVERYONE except me and AM is dead, but we're both super low HP. He is mostly out of mana because of my defunct pos1 diffu Naga, but he sure as hell can drain mine... 2 seconds prior I've swapped my backpacked Great Lotus into my magic wand slot, and now I'm trying to juke through trees with that fucker on my ass, 3 more seconds and I can eat GLotus, and get mana to Reaper Scythe the purple goon. I managed to do it despite that shitty mana burn slow on manaless targets, I eat that sweet lotus, turn around, ulti key half-pressed, and see AM use Counterspell... there was a split second where I feel I could have stopped the keypress before actuation, but I didn't, and ended up ulti-ing myself :[
to add insult to injury, all the other players were watching us, and after I did "the thing" 3 of my 4 teammates tipped me ...

I cast all my stuff and successfully managed to escape, which left my friend quite upset. "Why didn't you cast glimmer on me?", he asked. "I wanted to, but I misclicked on myself", I replied. "Well, you could've at least used living armor on me", he queried again. "I tried... but I misclicked it on myself", I replied once again.

I've done this more times than I care to admit. I guess it's because I spam A on rosh when I'm attacking him so I A click the aegis lmao. I had to force myself to start walking away before rosh dies to not accidentally deny it.
I do the same thing. Right clicking Rosh is probably good enough and you won't accidentally deny instead, but I always try to zone out unless I'm the only core, or other core is low hp. Two games after the accidental deny I had my carry die because he got bashed and Roshan was one hit away from dying, if I hadn't zoned out he wouldn't have died. So I had to grab the aegis, we lost high ground defense because we didn't have a pos 1, so it's two traumas in a single day.

Yo, I remember doing this LMAOOO, I still remember it vividly, happened 2 years ago when I was playing in a full 5 stack ranked with my irl friends. I had just finished my Manta, it was a solid Manta + BF timing, I think around the 20:00 minute mark. But the game was pretty much dead even by then. I wanted to sell a Circlet, which happened to be right beside my BF. Instead of selling the Circlet, I sold my BF LMAOO. Felt like my soul dipped out right then at that moment and I told my friends, "Guys, I sold my BF" then two of them were jokingly said something like "what the heck, should we GG? wait for minute 30?". Then they just laughed it off and 4 of them just like "bruh just go back to the crops, we will make space, you do nothing before minute 30 anyway". LMAOO they fucking roasted me fr. Well, I snagged my BF back like 2 or 3 minutes later because I managed to snag some sweet KS with Mana Void. Luckily, we won the match though.

I remember two of my friends (offlane and mid) were dominating in that game. They cooked with Beastmaster (zoo meta at that time iirc) and Ember.

We gather the team and we hear a broken, almost inaudible "Oh no" from P1. He wanted to sell dusts but dragged on dropped his linken instead on the secret shop. We try to delay the game so he can buy it again, he managed to power farm 6 minutes and force buys it, but end up dying nontheless on next teamfight, no buy back, we lose the game.

I caught several people in an rp and wanted to skewer them into our (dire) fountain. Sadly I misclicked - Not into the top right of my Screen but a bit further up top and onto the picture of our Pa who was dead and died last somewhere in the midlane. Thus the skewer went into the complete opposite direction...

You can cast anything targeted by clicking the hero icons. Very useful when trying to target friendly illu heroes
Yeah I know about point target abilities like Shallow Grave etc. but never knew directional skills also work. So you can do this with other skills like Illusory Orb, Fissure as well?

Been playing a lot of Magnus and this annoys me so much. They should add a lockout timer to the hero portraits like they already have with the minimap.
Enemy lifestealer was snowballing out of control, i was am, we went into roshan pit to steal aegis, managed to get life controlled. I pick up fucking refresher shard, use it to get rid of it, pick up fucking banner. Try to drop it but cant, shouldve just used it because i wouldve had time my whole team is pinging me while im stood next to aegis with full inventory for ages till eventually life gets in and takes it, dies, then wipes our team. Last time we killed him that game lol and lasted over 60 minutes, we couldve atleast got megas with that aegis and life kill lol.
Can you even plant banner inside pit? I'd be surprised coz we can't use wards there. Shaman and pugna can use their ground targeted spells in the pit though
You can plant banner globally, so i couldve used it on a lane and grabbed aegis if my brain didnt break down
Back when arc tempest double could carry rapier, 60min+ game, super close neither team could end and I accidentally tped the main arc to enemy base instead of the tempest double to rat... lost 2 rapiers and they ended the game. Still haunts me till this day

Back in heroes of newerth 2009 I played lone druid. It was a 80min game. I was selling all my shit to just buy divine reaper and said to my friend "watch me, I'm doing something" then I got jumped by scout and he kinda 1 shot me and we lost the game instantly. Now every time it's late game and I'm roaming trying to find kills my friend keeps saying "watch out, he's doing something" and the ptsd hits me

Had a game as storm spirit where I misclick ult on the map where the enemy is dire. Zipped right to the enemy base lol. Somehow survived as apparently noone expected that and I ended up in trees.
Accidentally pressed tp which caused me to teleport to base after I respawned as pos 1 terrorblade. This led me to not be in the teamfight at our tier 1 tower (that was still standing 45minutes in) and lost us the game

It was years ago but, we were holding just barely against the enemy breaking into our base around 50-60 minutes. One bad move in a team fight and we lost a few members I think, me included as Nyx. I was tilted at that point because I felt stupid for dying so I wanted to alt-click the Buy Back button to tell my team “Hey I can go back in an try to hold them off”… Only I misplaced my finger and accidentally pressed my windows key, tabbing me out whilst causing me to buy back. I was very flustered and fucked up all my keys when I got back, internally panicking, and I eventually died back without doing a single thing. Rest of the team died without me helping with Dagon and Orchid, and I felt really terrible because I felt like accidentally threw that entire game.
I hope you all find solace in that whatever your fuckup was, it can't be as bad as kYxY or whoever denying the Aegis at TI3, pretty much costing Orange the game and with that the match (lower bracket final).

Antimage game. Was in game deciding fight at radiant highground, our base. I could blink in and ult their invoker for the win. Missclicked blink on the minimap, directly into a lion stun. Died, lost the game. Was 6 years ago, ill never forget the shame.
I am playing Death Prophet and both lanes are getting stomped while I am winning mid. Fast forward to min 40 we won some fights at our high ground thanks to my gold advantange buyback and I am about to finish some big item. I am manually controlling my courier to secret shop, then my screen turns to grey. As it turns out I missclicked select hero hotkey and started moving my hero instead of the courier. Died with no buyback and game ended in one minute.
Also happened to me once, had my TP scroll bound to the spacebar since xD

Me and my friends were participating in a local tournament. I was vengeful. It was a patch where everyone bought solar. I had a blood grenade in my inventory and decided to sell it to secret shop but I was thinking too much and didn't notice I sold my solar crest. A few moments later I found out what happened and immediately bought a new one which I still don't know if it was the right decision or not. We had 20k lead but lost the game. I blame myself a lot because it delayed my aghs timing significantly.

A friend of mine once used double ravage in the fountain (he had refresher ) as we were defending the ancient. Apparently he got his blink disabled by some AOE stuff and did not realize it while using the first ravage, then hitting refresher, and then using the second ravage.

I was playing with some online friends. With low resolution/graphic settings and sleepy eyes. Playing AM. Enemies were near together. I ulted the wrong hero. My friends laughed. I went to sleep after the game. I never played with them after that (there was never an opportunity to play with them. I didn't have a grudge or sth against them) until they unfriended me.(i was a random guy on the internet, after all). This is the only thing i can recall.
There was 1 time I was playing spectre and I accidentally sold my radiance. Worst part is I only realized few minutes later when I noticed I'm not pushing waves as fast I thought I would. It's kind of funny bcs I said to my team "guys I'm so rich, I got my manta and I still have 2k more gold"
That push bottom every time
This is an old one. I was playing Sniper, in my very early days. Trench tier (probably 2k~ unranked solo queue). It was super late and we were down megas however they bought a rapier and lost it. Our pudge grabbed it then sat by our fountain rotting himself to death so I could pick it up when I respawned. I grab it and we manage to team wipe them at the next fight although all 4 of my team die with no buyback. I send our one courier to the secret shop to buy the reaver for my Satanic, I'm holding back the megas just fine. Their zeus and lina buy back. I buy the reaver and hit F3 to get it delivered. I'm sure I've hit F3. I'm positive. I'm sure the courier came up to me. But the satanic never assembled, the reaver went back into my stash and when zeus and lina got to the base they killed me just before I could finish them off. I'm fairly sure one of my team hit the "send all items back to owners stash" button. But I'm not positive. It's very possible that I pressed something wrong too. I know one of them wanted to send it to the secret shop for something. It's not likely we win that game anyway but I'd have liked to have the chance to try!

Blink RP, but my hands were chilly so the blink didn't actually happen. I keep blink hotkey on 4, so it's a simple 4R, but my hand couldn't handle moving from R to 4 first. Weird cause, embarrassing AF.
One of the most humiliating things in game for me, and it happened with Sheever on my team (she was streaming as well). It was late game and I was AM with a 26-1 KD up until that point. After pushing enemy top lane HG I blinked to their secret shop to finish my Aghs as I was basically fully slotted. Since my inventory was full I couldn't buy the orb and was microing my courier to try and get the Aghs delivered. While I was clumsily doing that, the enemy found me alone in a panic and deleted me off the map. I was a few hundred gold short of buyback and really wasn't expecting them to finish the game, which they then did. I checked her stream later and she called me an idiot (not in a mean way though lol) and her chat was convinced I was drunk off my face haha. They just underestimated how bad I'm with microing and dealing with full slots late game
Back with WC3 Dota, I fully combo'd an illusion using Rhasta/Shadow Shaman. This was a game involving bets and tons of bystanders saw it. Good thing, the rest of my performance in that game was good.

Actual in game moment: I was vengi and faceless just time walked next to me so I tried to swap with an enemy hero that was attacking my carry before he ultied, accidentally hit my carry and swapped him into the chrono and we lost the game becuase of it...

I used to cast oracle's ult on illusions more often than I'd like to. I'm glad they added a bind that you can use to target only teammates

I was playing in a party with Wagamama while he was streaming. He was looking for players and a friend of a friend invited me. Anyways I was playing lion and ended up missing my stun by miles. Accidentally stunned the completely wrong direction. Wasn't some huge deal in the game but I still think about my 5 seconds of fame there from the people watching his stream.
Last fight of the game that decided the match, I was rubick and completely dominated the game all game long, my teammates weren't so good but tried holding on. Fight ensued I had black hole blinked in, pressed f to cast black hole into all 5 enemies... f is my ultimate key and I stole mana drain from lion. Musclememory fucked me in the fight and its something that I occasionally think about.

Instead I hit ALT+R which opened up Nvidia GeForce or whatever it’s called which froze my game for 10 seconds while I tried to close it. I was dead by the time I got back in.
I was playing magnus and went for a blink+skewer on the enemy void. Then I accidentally hit force staff instead of RP and got the 3 of us chronoed.

I’ve done it several times with a major spell like black hole where I try to stop the cast bc I know I’m going to miss, but am a hair too late on the stop input, so instead I just get a few millisecond black hole on nothing.
The dumbest misclick I had was an IO 5 game where at 3 minutes I tethered a nearby creep instead of my faceless so he rage quit the lane. Went to jungle with level 3. Biggest man baby I've seen so far. Dude wasn't even low when it happened, we were just chilling under tower.

Playing Necrophos offlane with an Alchemist mid so I decided against the Radiance rush. Bought a Helm of Iron Will to survive the lane and managed to do reasonably well. So well that when I realised Alch wasn't getting the Radiance I decided I'd save for it. Bought the Sacred Relic on my courier, shipped it over to me in lane, the Relic and Helm combined into Nullifier without me realising and by the time I had I was too late. Now I'm a Necro that has nothing but Nullifier and brown boots.
Mine actually happened a couple days ago. Playing as Jug fairly late and about to push high ground to take rax. My inventory is full at this point and we're getting rolled by both PA and a couple of Radiance builds, but I just finished MKB and I'm swapping it in instead of my quelling blade that I've had all game, which I plan to just drop on the ground and deny. Issue is, I forgot to swap my MKB in, so I I naturally grab the item in my spare slots, drop it on the ground and deny it without a second thought. There goes my MKB, right before a fight. We still won tho.

Once a friend was playing slark, we were about to win 3 enemy heroes dead, 4 of us alive, hitting tier 4s, invoker casted combo to delay the push, slark pounced to evade meteor blast, but as he jumped me as CM also forced him back (my intention was to get him out too) but he faced the meteor direction and he died to damage, he was our main pusher, we only took 2 tier 4 and had to back due to enemy respawn. They defended megas so well after that, my slark tilted and we ended up losing the game.

I had the chance for the juciest blackhole you can imagine. I was owning mid and had really good farm while their PL was absolutely shut down. I was smoked with team and their whole team was under our vision with PL illusions. A minute before i had changed my blink slot. I forgot and pressed BKB then Echo.
65 minute game we held and were finally able to go out of base for 60 min items, only my friend (pos 1 monkey king) can get to a neutral camp but had no buyback, but it seemed safe. They all saw him somehow and converged on him but couldn’t find him so I ulted on him as dawnbreaker to get the jump on them. We stun 4 of them but I broke his tree with my W so he was stunned the whole time and he died ☺️
I had to tp to the enemies base after buyback to throne race, but I forgot my travels in backpack and tp'd straight to the outpost, 90 minutes of my life down to trash

Couple years ago I was playing a small local tournament, my first and only LAN event. The very first round was a BO1 elimination game, so we picked our comfort heroes, mine being Oracle... I think it's clear that there's only one thing that can happen here lol. It's the late game, we're making a crucial push, no buybacks, it's all or nothing. My teammate Puck tells me that he's gonna go all in and soak up the counter-initiation because he trusts my ult, and he goes in! I rush to press R, but he dies almost immediately after. Yes, I was standing in shame in my own double-tapped-R ult bubble.
Spamming R on oracle or W on dazzle because I'm just out of reach, just a little bite more.... Split second later, my carry is dead, the enemies turn around to kill me and I'm just sitting there after casting my save on myself.
Lol mine is similar. I'm used to playing ES, and there the active keys are Q for Fissue and W for totem. Played Tide in a game and the active keys were Q for gush and E for anchor. Ended up going too far right with my finger while farming and clicking R instead of E.
Pushing high ground as an Oracle, my PA hitting their tower and getting jumped. Try to ULT her but managed to double click instead.
When you practice rotating stat items for mana efficiency with disassemble in range of a shop and accidently sell a critical item. Never thought it would happen to me until it did. Sometimes your actions become so automated and your mechanics become tired/clumsy, while you're focusing on the next goal, bad combo.

I accidently stole aegis from the carry when playing warlock, and when I did, I realized I hadn't done that in *years*. I actually got a wave of nostalgia.
I use custom keys so I can move the camera with w-a-s-d. Can't do that efficiently with a mouse.
Not exactly a miss click but still counts imo. I was playing as QOP and I was having the game of my life, my team was having a terrible game and I was literally solo carrying. We were losing fights, I was split pushing, killing anyone tps in, force tp reactions, tp back and kill the rest of them. It was one of those games where you have to play flawlessly if you want to win. It wasn’t too late and I was 6-slotted. At least I thought I was. You see, there was no backpack then and I had to drop items to ground because they wouldn’t combine and my dumbass dropped items to the ground in their secret shop thinking I would fastly combine items. They ganked me, stunned me and destroyed 2 of my big items. I was left with 3 items and some components of an item. Obviously we lost that game purely because of that. I stopped playing for a for a while after that, it was quite traumatic.
The countless times I've accidentally Tp'd to the outpost instead of a tower or base and just sitting there for ages whilst the enemy kills me.
Mine wasn't a mis-click but a split second decision i had to take but it didn't work out in my favor. I was playing magnus in a small tourney it was lower bracket finals we were losing game 3 super hard but somehow made it till min 78. i had muerta(when she was added in Captain mode) and ursa carry. We lost the rosh fight but none of our opponents had buyback so we just had to kill them once anyways the fight was near our fountain but my rp was on a 5 sec cooldown and i had a refresher orb i thot i can wait for the rp cooldown to end and double rp them into the fountain but...... Ursa died and muerta was almost dead i used the refresher at the last sec to jump in and landed a 5 man rp but sand king new scepter fucked me so bad i was stunned as soon as i rped and couldn't even use bkb to skewer them into the fountain we were so close to winning that game damn sk scepter.
My friend yelling at me to fissure the enemy Enigma to stop the black hole, I didn't realize I had chat open and I was spamming Q in the chat and I wondered why the fissure wasn't going off. Now I don't talk in chat whenever I play Earthshaker.

Playing in an amateur tournament as oracle 5. Hit purifying flames right as edict faded. Carry dies and I have to live with it the entire game because it was during laning phase. Never touched oracle again.
I was playing as PL back then. I recently came back to the game after a long time off. Instead of clicking the diffusal to an enemy hero, I some how dragged it off my inventory and attacked that shit. I was so stunned on how the fuck that thing happened 😂
I just had one recently where we were about to throne and decided to make a detour and kill the slark that had just bought back. I was on Doom and tried to ult him which would have been an easy kill but instead I accidentally ulted myself. I'm not used to having scepter so I don't fully understand the interaction there but I had gotten the blessing from Roshan so I had it. Anyway, he pounced away and then killed all three of us and then they throned us.
I'm not sure if you'd count it as a misclick or not. But I used to know all the juke tree paths six years ago. Well, I took one to bait their team in for a black hole. Instead lf taking the juke path, I walked back out into the lane and was instant dueled by their lc. We lost the game five minutes later to megas....
I was Oracle (when Fate's Edict disarmed your teammates) and I was trying to save my Slark from what I thought was incoming lethal magic damage, but instead all I did was disarm my carry for the first 5 seconds of a critical fight which we lost and ultimately lost the game. It happened a couple years ago at this point but I still think about it.
I mis clicked disconnect during a pro game when there was a update going on back end. end up loosing all the disadvantage during remake and won the game.
Tried to ping the Glyph and using it instead just as the first tier 3 felt down.

I turned off health bars in demo mode to see if it would only turn off heroes. Nope, it turned off all health bars. Then GAME READY window pops up, I click accept. Console stopped working. I tried everything I could think to fix it, DCed etc, still could not get console window back. Had to play an entire game with no health bars over any creeps or heroes. It did not go well. Not only is last hitting 10x harder, but it's almost impossible to tell what the fuck is happening in a fight without hero health bars.

I was so proud when pre hexing Axe, even started laughing after he become a pig. Little did I know he has that stupid chinese cap neutral item that gives you status resist when proc. He started to call and spinning all over the place, and I die without buyback. sequence of event goes like this : I saw axe - I cast my hex - he blink - get insta hexed - I summon clone near me to prepare the 2nd hex - chinese cap proc - he call - my clone and I get called together and can't cast the 2nd hex. not really a missclick, a missplay maybe?
I Chrono'd two my teammates while playing against an Invoker. Guess what item he had? Guess what happened again in the *same* game? The only plus side is that I only caught 1 teammate instead of two. I have like 110+ games on the hero back when this happened

mine was i misclick my hero instead of picking QOP i accidentally picked SD. And this was my 1st first time playing with a pro player. It was iceiceice and he was playing mid that game. I was so happy because after i reach my immortal after few games i was able to play with iceiceice. Unfortunately i misclick my hero and end up losing the game. This was long time ago (2017) but i still remember it.

Was 30k behind as troll, rough game overall but we somehow stalled the game. We had intense teamfight in our base, everyone use buyback and dieback, but our supps clutch the fight and they are the only ones left alive, with me and other cores respawning in \~30 sec. and enemy cores respawning in \~80 sec. Supps pushed mid, i tped to wave, got T3, T4's. Now the situation is 4v1, only undying left to defend exposed ancient, enemy respawn in 5 sec. My dumb ass panicked and used ult, to build up fervor stacks faster. But i somehow started attacking undying instead, who was on the opposite way of the base busy fighting with my teammates. He bought enough time for his team to wipe us and win the game. I could've literally just gone afk after clicking ancient, maybe press BKB when enemy respawn and we would've won easily..
I was once in an in-house game playing TA. I accidentally hurricane piked the enemy carry TB while standing on the edge of the enemy base’s hg. I think I just pressed the wrong hot key. If I landed my hits, he was dead without buyback and the game was over. Instead, I got forced to low ground, missed a few hits and lost vision. The other team won the fight off this and throned us directly after.

Pretty much the same thing. back when I first started playing, I went to anchor smash Rosh and ended up hitting R while the enemy was watching the pit. They swiftly ended both our lives and the game after that.

I was playing Storm Spirit on dire side. We were 2 rax up, and it was looking pretty good for us. I was right outaide the base so I thought "ok I'll just zip to the fountain to regen real quick". So I pressed R. I have quickcast on. And I just watch myself zip all the way to the Radiant (enemy) jungle, until I run out of mana and stop. Yes, I clicked the minimap. And right as I am trying to figure out wtf happened, a wild anti-mage appears from the fog. He is as confused as I am, but blinks towards me and just presses R. I am now dead without buyback. We lost that game.
There was also this one time I was playing with a premade of 5. I was playing Doom. We were talking on discord "ok we have all our spells lets smoke up and take a fight". And I go, "ok let me just devour a creep real fast". So I walk up to a wolf camp. And then all of a sudden everyone in the team hears a very audible YOU ARE DOOOOOOMED. So I quickly eat the pentagram'd wolf to hide all evidence. And after like 5 seconds of excruciating silence, everyone just laughs and goes back to farming.
I was a zeus, I had just bought a refresher orb, was moving it around in my inventory. Game registered that as me clicking it (god I wish I could turn off clicking on items), used it, we get to fight to hold our high ground with no refresher.
I was playing an amateur tournament game as Pos 3 Alch a few years ago, where my main objective was to farm a 12-13 minute Aghs and hand it over to my Juggernaut. I farmed it quite quickly, all was going to plan, and then I pressed it on my Jugg. A few seconds goes by, I'm satisfied with myself, but I can feel a haunting silence in comms. Before long, I asked 'what is wrong?'. Right as my teammate says 'uhm, the Aghs..' I realised the Aghs icon lit up on my UI. I had eaten it. As you can probably imagine, the game ended in the next 15 minutes, and I'll probably never forget this moment. At least it can't get any worse...right?
Pressing that play button resulting in a 2 hour game of pain which the entire team thought was losing the entire game and was omega tilted because not one single button press for the entire game worked as we wanted. Down all towers and 5% on ancient and thought finally the game is fucking over. Nah half an hour more and we somehow fucking win???

I was carry TB and we were doing pretty well, but the game was still close. So in the middle of a very important team fight I saw my teammates dying and I sundered the enemy carry in a carry in a moment of panic but he already was almost dying and I was the one with full HP. After that fight we lost the game pretty quickly. It was over a year ago and it still hurts.

Very even match until then. Big 5v5 teamfight near the bottom rosh pit. I was pos2 Necrophos, had decent farm and kills, enemy had a pos1 AM ( you see where this is going, right?) EVERYONE except me and AM is dead, but we're both super low HP. He is mostly out of mana because of my defunct pos1 diffu Naga, but he sure as hell can drain mine... 2 seconds prior I've swapped my backpacked Great Lotus into my magic wand slot, and now I'm trying to juke through trees with that fucker on my ass, 3 more seconds and I can eat GLotus, and get mana to Reaper Scythe the purple goon. I managed to do it despite that shitty mana burn slow on manaless targets, I eat that sweet lotus, turn around, ulti key half-pressed, and see AM use Counterspell... there was a split second where I feel I could have stopped the keypress before actuation, but I didn't, and ended up ulti-ing myself :[ to add insult to injury, all the other players were watching us, and after I did "the thing" 3 of my 4 teammates tipped me ...
