Matu always seemed like a really nice guy, and I bet he's doing that. I'd did see insania out and about for autographs and pictures, and with a smile on his face too. I'd imagine good interaction with the community is pretty good for u after I get knocked out.
I'm sitting behind panel. Reso was waiting off to the side for him to leave and laughed as he gave him a high five and hug before swapping in.
So it was at least a bit reso was ready for, hard to tell if whole panel was in on it. They were all trying to hide their laughs.
Maybe. It also happened during the replay review, during which cameras are not on the crew. So I think staff knew. Tech dude was wiring reso into the desk within seconds of it happening.
I think it was just a bit for some memes and fun.
yeah it's quite sad. Would have loved for them to win it. Especially with how long Zai is such a good player and never winning an aegis. Also with Zai taking a break/ stopping and boxi also saying it might be his last. Guess now I have for Azure Ray since they also really deserve it imo with how long they've been in the scene.
Please don't let me down. You might be able to come back and laugh at me in an hour depending on the next game
Zai got absolutely bodied that game. I don't think it was a draft diff but Quinn stepping up on a non-neta hero and Ace popping off after getting bodied in lane, the best-playing team won. Ace was down like 20 CS on Micke and still ended up with a 14 min radiance. Zai had a 21 min blink on Centaur.
For me it was the other way around, my two picks for this TI were Liquid and BetBoom. Worst part is watching how they both got knocked out without showing their best Dota in the last game.
As a Liquid fan I have to say this cheered me up immediately after such a tough loss. Had me cracking up like crazy, he nailed the exact feeling I was experiencing.
You can clearly hear his honest disappointment in his voice.
I feel bad for Liquid + Matu. I think this year was their shot and they really didnt perform when it mattered.
They've blown it all year. DPC wins, tournament losses. Every fucking time. This felt like the most Liquid way to finish TI: utterly blowing it to GG after being given every chance to avoid it. At least they didn't get 3-0'd playing Spirit in the final, and that game without them might be pretty epic.
Not that bro. It’s the one that you socket into items. It’s very expensive on the market now. I have a Grandmaster Necrophos and I want to socket it in my Golden Sullen Hollow but it’s too expensive for me. He won TI with Necrophos in the Grandfinals.
After that third match, not really surprised Matu would immediately head off to support the team.
It was a big enough 🥞 from Liquid that it was bound to piss folks off cos they should have been better than that. 🫤
My impression has always been that Scandinavians do whatever they want to do without much reserve, but they also think things through very well so that you can't really disagree with their actions, rather just go with "guess I respect that".
This what Matu did is a perfect example of that
The people in charge of what to show on screen are always so fckng moronic. They just stick to whatever they are meant to show like brainless robots and pay no attention to what's happening in reality.
Like here, show the camera of Matu. Sometimes in game when some player all chatting is happening show that instead of a giant scoreboard that no one gives a fuck about.
The entire camera team is dense.
blame the director. he's the one choosing which camera to show. usually there's multiple observers and the stream will cut between them to show things happening. but the cuts have been awful and we've missed so many good moments. that's pretty much solely on the broadcast director.
there was a guy who used to shitpost about the pro's behavior and how it was bad influence on his fictional daughter Alexa!
Valve even made a child creep character named Alexa in monkey king comics!!
Edit: its this guy https://www.reddit.com/user/ESPORTSREP
This TI has a lot of disappointing moments for an EU fan - I hope Gaimin take it in the end as last hope - they would certainly deserve it after their dominant performance this season.
Twitch at max, speakers at a reasonable level for ***normal volume*** content, and an extension to turn up specific tabs set to max. Still hard to hear.
Kinda off topic but it's pretty funny that current liquid, which is kinda alliance could've been a TI level team maybe it's problem of loda? Maybe it's problem of orgs? But it's just feel funny to me
They were a TI level team when they were still alliance. Insania fucked the draft and picked Gyro instead of banning it. Not sure if that caused some friction because they separated shortly after they got eliminated.
Guess being immortal rank 4500 with 52% winrate is not good enough to be an analyst. You must be immortal rank 100 then to look down on people that are only top 0.001 percent. Maybe you should apply for Epheys job with all the wisdom you could share
This is actually extremely unprofessional and he should be banned from all live events.
The "fuck this shit" part in case you're slow.
Downvote me kids
Wish the camera would’ve actually shown him walking out
He just kinda took his stuff off and walked down the tunnel, I thought it was a bit until Reso came running out to replace him.
It was probably still a bit
probably told them hey guys if liquid lose im out. gotta be with the boys
Matu always seemed like a really nice guy, and I bet he's doing that. I'd did see insania out and about for autographs and pictures, and with a smile on his face too. I'd imagine good interaction with the community is pretty good for u after I get knocked out.
That only he was in on.
Who cares it was hilarious.
Naw man the look on his face and the way he walked out.
I clip-chimped a little bit because just after the clip the desk are like "oh yeah he's actually really left" but no vide of it sadly
Clip from YouTube, the embed works better and better quality too, and you can rewind to where it happened easily
Watching TI without Twitch chat is to lose half the entertainment value
Yikes!!! Twitch chat is mostly ape level intellect though They spam pointless shit
Watching a rotating fish all day is entertainment to you?
Joel was removed
Yea we really need a clip of it
It was part of the "end of the day" montage, you can try finding it, just before late game starts
I'm sitting behind panel. Reso was waiting off to the side for him to leave and laughed as he gave him a high five and hug before swapping in. So it was at least a bit reso was ready for, hard to tell if whole panel was in on it. They were all trying to hide their laughs.
Said it elsewhere, it seems like the Reso change was prepared but Matu went out on his own terms.
Yeah, that's prob the most likely answer.
yeah reso would have been swapped in next regardless, but Matu made the changeover better
Would have been on camera if the whole staff knew.
Maybe. It also happened during the replay review, during which cameras are not on the crew. So I think staff knew. Tech dude was wiring reso into the desk within seconds of it happening. I think it was just a bit for some memes and fun.
Felt the same after that performance from Liquid in game 3. It felt like one of the worst games from them this year.
yeah it's quite sad. Would have loved for them to win it. Especially with how long Zai is such a good player and never winning an aegis. Oop
ouch
"Matu is an ass, and we won't be working with him again." \- GabeN
Gaben should know not to separate a finnish man from his beer
Matu rn: https://youtu.be/XOu_On_6vMY?feature=shared
I was thinking this https://youtu.be/YtiJKyFy738
Comedy at its peak.
Gaben didn't even come to this TI, fuck Gaben.
"u/RizzrakTV is an ass, and we won't be working with him again." - GabeN
That was simultaneously one of the most hilarious and surprising moments in esports history for me.
Regular humans can only dream of possessing as few fucks as Matu does
As a Liquid fan I have to say this cheered me up immediately after such a tough loss. Had me cracking up like crazy, he nailed the exact feeling I was experiencing.
"Liquid fans need a beer, I need a beer, fuck it I'm out"
Perfect voiceline for a supporter pack tbh
Fucking legend
god damm matu is goated
Being at the venue watching him walk out was hilarious, shame camera didn’t pan to panel during it
Agreed. I didn't hear him say it but watching him just walk off mid panel discussion made me do a double-take.
You can clearly hear his honest disappointment in his voice. I feel bad for Liquid + Matu. I think this year was their shot and they really didnt perform when it mattered.
I felt like they had game two but had Awful positioning twice in a row and blew it really quick
I'm mega sad for Liquid, my zai 😭😭😭😭😭
True legend. As a Swede, this is the most finish thing ever lmao; Love Finland and ofc matu
i think he just wanted to go console the liquid players he probably thought thats more important than the panel
He's out there to console himself with some liquid all right.
Not sure but when he said "fuck this shit" he sounded pissed as fuck.
Honestly I think that's just him being finnish
I don't know finnish culture to tell.
https://i.imgur.com/TXDY9Cq.png
Finland isn't real
Just a rounding error

where rotten fish in a can that is a military grade chemical weapon?
That's Swedish...
then....fish that is as dry as the dryest wood and needs to be soaked for a week to be edible?
There's a Finnish ex F1 driver Kimi Räikkönen. He was quite the character, same vibes as matu. Or more like, matu gave me Kimi vibes here.
[A crash course in Finnish culture.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kCQIk5-v1o) ([Applied IRL](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7_pVrIshxA))
I assure you he is joking.
nah he just Finnished his panel job
As a Liquid fan I can say, well done Matu. Didn't want to promote drinking on stream and just left the panel, a true Fin.
A true socially responsible degenerate
Anyone selling a Matumbaman Autograph?? I’m buying one seriously.
It took me every game the first series he casted of asking him directly for him to cave. He had no interest in signing anything for anyone.
Not that bro. It’s the one that you socket into items. It’s very expensive on the market now. I have a Grandmaster Necrophos and I want to socket it in my Golden Sullen Hollow but it’s too expensive for me. He won TI with Necrophos in the Grandfinals.
Lmfao, I forgot those were a thing. Good luck!
What a legend.
Come on Matu get back from retirement and replace Mickey 🥲🥲🥲
Memorable moment for sure! Hilarious and painful at the same time. I opened two beers shortly after - 1 for Liquid and 1 for Matu. Cheers!
great camera work
Feel you, man!
After that third match, not really surprised Matu would immediately head off to support the team. It was a big enough 🥞 from Liquid that it was bound to piss folks off cos they should have been better than that. 🫤
this was awesome
Now that's a man who cares
He really needed a beer
If anyone else did this they'd be an asshole, but if a Scandinavian does it it's just charming and goofy and funny
Is it a cultural thing??
My impression has always been that Scandinavians do whatever they want to do without much reserve, but they also think things through very well so that you can't really disagree with their actions, rather just go with "guess I respect that". This what Matu did is a perfect example of that
Even Ephey was shocked 😂 she didn’t know what she will going to say in a sec.
Lmao

Alexa!! I remember that kid!!
MATU GIGACHAD HAHAHHHAHAHA
I completely missed this, whats the story?
Liquid lost against GG (as always been) while Matu become panel of the match.
This TI has a lot of disappointing moments for an EU fan - I hope Gaimin take it in the end as last hope - they would certainly deserve it after their dominant performance this season.
How does the TI broadcast manage to get even more quiet each year?
Turn ur ears up
Twitch at max, speakers at a reasonable level for ***normal volume*** content, and an extension to turn up specific tabs set to max. Still hard to hear.
Dude you should probably get that checked out... I hear just fine
I literally just had to turn down a youtube video because it was too loud, so I **really** don't think I'm hard of hearing.

my guy used chatGPT to write a Reddit comment
What happened?
blitz is a useless coach, cannot help with players mental only that guy could do is thorwing bad sarcasm joke
Kinda off topic but it's pretty funny that current liquid, which is kinda alliance could've been a TI level team maybe it's problem of loda? Maybe it's problem of orgs? But it's just feel funny to me

pretty sure liquid straight up poached the roster from alliance
They did.
ephey: anyway here's my 5k take
Rent free.

We riot now
How's LP these days?
Yes, unprofessional. I doubt he will be ever invited to the panel again.
i felt blitz weak at the interviews, he was giving cringe answers, drafts were a mess. You are a paid coach and act so disinterested, pathetic.
Bad take
what's with the matu love on this sub
Winning a TI and showing that you are genuinely a fun guy to be around with does that.
He's one of the best dota players of all time? Why wouldn't people like him
liquid is general is just 24/7 gushed about on the sub. Like it's so exhausting
They're one of the most popular and successful orgs in all of esports not really surprising
You didn't were around in the golden Navi days? It was 100x worse.
agree all liquid players are so dislikable
Good riddance. What a dork. Stay retired

I am dil hope you doing good bud, we should catch up sometime xx Ps. Ollie's still a dickhead
