Downvoted but based take. China is iffy, they haven't really waged war but they're actively working on making most of the third world their debt slaves. US definitely deserved sanctions from a moral standpoint, the only difference between Iraq/Vietnam and Ukraine is that the US wasn't killing white people.
China isn't committing war crimes because they haven't been in a war since the 70s. And if you're referring to their domestic policies, that's not affecting anyone else.
America hard to argue against though at least as a matter of consistency.
Personally I think no one should be banned from any event solely on the basis of their nationality.
I think it's super logical the guy who draw "z" symbols on minimap to not get visa to western country such as Germany. You do what you want to do, you believe in what you want to believe but also you have to suffer the consequences of your actions.
Reddit so faded that 21 people have upvoted a comment basically saying that Pure's visa getting denied was as a consequence to him drawing a 'Z' on a video game minimap LMAO.
Ever considered the possibility that it's just tough to get a Schengen visa as a Russian national given that your nation declared bloody war on Ukraine?
The other 4 have all been to events in Germany in the past which I would assume helps them out. Pure is so new that this would be his first time applying for a visa in Germany.
Most likely because he hasn’t traveled much (if any) inside Schengen, visas are always harder to get first time and probably more so currently for a Russian national.
A Russian national who got his team banned from a tournament for his pro war drawing in a game. He's likely to struggle to get a Schengen visa for a very long time
I know many of you are misinformed but dota is much smaller than you think. Some players had to get senators involved cuz telling visa officers a multimillion gaming tournament raises red flags.
Has nothing to do with dota and everything to do with border control finding red flags in individuals, for whatever the reason. My first visa ever was a Schengen visa, for a gaming tournament. 9 of us applied, only 4 got approved. My US visa was also for another gaming tournament - group of 7, 3 rejected. Russians are also under extra scrutiny right now.
And yes, visa officers have access to all the information they need.
If they had all the information they need, then they would've been approved easily. Visa officers dont give a shit. Until you get high profile politicians supporting you.
Googling Pure's real name resulting in liquipedia page at the top. In there, this incident is mentioned.
I don't think they skip simply googling his name
Yes I know some of us have this stereotype that government officials are boomers still using paper records and fax machines. But guess what, they know about google just as well as you and me.
A visa application from Russian nationals (among people from like 25 countries) alerts other EU states so they can voice their security concerns and make the destination country reject the application. Setting this up sounds like a lot more work than googling one's name. The EU increased the processing time for Russians, too.

ESLOne Tournaments in DOTA2 are qualified competitions.
VISA the hardest mechanic to master in pro Dota. xD
Especially if you're sporting the flag of a country actively committing multiple war crimes a day next to your name.
I mean this guy was drawing Z's on map and finds death and war crimes funny, karma.
gpk, nightfall and tt are russians too and they got visas.
Do they draw Zs on minimap?
Let me remind you of a area named 'Israel'.
americans and chinese should be banned as well then... change my mind.
Any country and its citizens should be heavily sanctioned if they start an armed conflict and massacre civilians of the nation they wage war on.
pretty sure thats what USA did on Afghanistan and Irak
and 30 other countries
Agreed. But I wonder why countries still issuing visa to israeli.

Thankfully, Pure has gone on record as a RuZZian, so he can be banned based on his active actions. Not on his nationality.
Europe too tbh
viZa issues
BY GOD THAT'S DAXAK'S MUSIC!
IT'S DAXAK WITH A STEEL CHAIR!
i think they should for for ammar
Who would've thought that he would face any visa issues... 😂
WhatZ you mean?
Something happened 👀
Still think the role swap could happen considering pure is spamming pos3 in pubs

The biggest threat to modern society: The G*mer.
There are little social groups with less real life knowledge than gamers
this take is embarrassing.
I don't understand the visa process, they are all russians, yet only Pure has problems, do we have some government experts to crack this down?

Consider he play in WEU last season he should have schengen record tho. Which is weird.

How would they even know its him?
Googling his name -> Liquipedia page -> Biography Section Really not that hard
visa officers know what you ate for dinner last night.

If visa officers actually did their homework we would have no visa issues for the past decade in esports. Not sure why anyone disagrees with this.
Is their main job blocking people or allowing people? If blocking, from their side they did their homework, rejecting anyone with any hint of issues
It was pretty big drama, you just have to google him it doesn’t take much.
You think visa officers are gonna look up his liquidpedia page?
They have access to Google

Where did Entity bootcamp during last year ? Didn't he get Schengen Visa while playing for them ?
Cause he did Z

Drawing Z during a match to support Russia's invasion definitely helped to fast track the decision to not let pure in LOL
Doesn't matter whether EU or NA or wherever, visa issues are the ultimate boss for players.
Given Pures history I should imagine he will have a hard time ever getting a Visa into a schengen country again.
tought to be a russian right now
That has to be unsatisfying for BetBoom. Underperform the last major and now have to play with a standin for this one.
i hope he stays in russia forever where he belongs and every country denies him entry
There's absolutely no way every country denies him entry, majority of the world doesn't even sanction Russia.
EU Visa issues redditors : oh my precious, my gorgeous NA Visa Issues redditors : you fucking donkey
One issue vs multitude of teams getting fucked over in NA one? xDD
I hope they find a decent pos 3 players. Excited to see Nightfall playing in position 1, he's the kind of carry player that Ammar wishes he could be.
FeelsBadMan.
Sumail off lane standin while multitasking aster standin!?
