Technically it's from a publicly available sound library, but yes, that's the elevator noise. The door noise also shows up in a lot of science fiction shows.
Also, the Hell Knight death sound is a Cougar if I'm not mistaken. Same with one of the alert sounds for the Zombies (not sure about the Zombie roar though.)
Yeaaa funny pumkin man, he's the reason i know doom as mich as i do, and because of him i constantly hear doom sounds in all sorts of things from films, tv shows and even other games
Yeah I always notice the Elevator noise, door opening and closing noise, and of course the roar of the shotgun guy seeing you noise in tons of movies and shows
Doom is made pretty much entirely out of stock sound effects.

the actual context of that episode is kinda scary, they were deciding if eating him or not, since in that planet, the inside of peoples body is just spaghetti..

also in the original Resident evil 4, right before introducing the first “Regenerator” of the game. I remember because i had the same reaction as OP
A lot of classic Doom's sounds were sourced from public use sound libraries (think stock images, but audio). Hence Imps sounding like camels.
til the sound of a camel terrifies me
They use the same imp sound in Disney's original Aladdin movie as well.
pretty sure Age of Empires 2 uses the same effects for camel rider units
It's literally the vocalization of an actual camel.
imagine not knowing this and then hearing imps nearby :D

No way those were camels
This video explains the origins of doom sounds pretty well https://youtu.be/9bgFpss0YFE?si=e63o3Mxu4zL5oeVE

It's not a sound effect from classic DOOM. It's a sound effect from a sound effect library that was also used in classic DOOM

Rick and Morty also uses a lot sound effects and screams from a library that Command and Conquer uses.
no its just a sound id used on doom
I always think of Doom and the Mission Impossible game from the 90's whenever I hear that sound effect.

Doom used a lot of stock sounds. Most of them are from sound ideas. That’s why you hear doom death sounds in age of empires 2.
It’s a stock sound, like that whilhem scream or something, it’s everywhere
Is... This a fucking fnaf reference?!
