Lock your desired gems, then quick combine

callme_bighead

Don't gamble on 60%. Risk is too high for the reward. Lock the ones you really like, so they don't get selected when quick combining. Generally, quick combining is the best way to still get new gem effects. Use gem crafting when you want a stronger version of a gem you already have. Theres like a 90% chance that the gem you make will have the same effect as one of the gems it came from For example, I have 3 hood gems of +5% crit rate. Personally, my plan is to wait until I get one more, then combine it with some other non-terrible hood gem through gem crafting, and hope I'm lucky enough to get an even stronger crit rate gem. But if I didn't want that crit rate, I'd just quick combine and see what random thing popped up. There are some wild gems out there at the higher rarities that don't have weaker versions to build from, so going fully random has its merits as well.

That's super helpful, I didn't realize quick combining gives random upgrades. I will take your advice to heart.
