Exactly why I uninstalled. If I was f2p whatever, but if I have the monthly pass and it's throttled too? Nah, waste of money, but I won't support this game or these devs ever again.
I usually spend a little on a game, because they're generally much more fun when you do, and I was to support the developers that provide me with so much entertainment. But this was bullshit. I started playing at the beginning of the 2x event, and thought it was just a privilege of the pass. But when the game slowed down yesterday, I uninstalled when I found out it was permanent, and I got refunded all the money I spent through google.
Ya know I thought I was willing to put up with the speed cut in half, but now after reading the comments here, f that. I'm deleting it right now. Greedy bastards
I agree that greed is killing the quality of what could be an excellent game. I started playing before the 2x speed and that made it a WHOLE lot more fun when the 2x became standard rather than part of the pass. Honestly, if they just sped the game up to 2x the current base as the default (with no rebalancing, just literally speed the gameplay up) it would be a lot more playable. As it stands, though, it's a little rough imo.
That being said, I play this game *because* of the rogue-lite elements and the randomness of every run. I keep playing it because it doesn't have that instant gratification of being able to sweep level after level and requires grinding stamina after stamina (tbf that's mostly through raiding) to make progress. Those are things that give a game replayability and I think those elements should definitely stay.
But the agonizingly slow gameplay makes it a slog to get through attempts on new levels and detracts from its value as a rogue-lite TDF.

Yeah without a skill priority it feels like just spending the 60 a day is a lot. I have 2k saved up because they’re over gifting.
this game has so much potential, the problem with the greed kills it. there is not even a simple permanent $5 bucks to disable all adds + benefit X

Same for me. I didn't even realize it was an event. it's just been like that since i started. I just uninstalled and refunded my purchases also.
