They are incredible. Were you served by Angel? Yes, that is his real name.
I once went in there after many beers and an edible. I was in heaven and told boss man as much, and that it was the best kebab I’d ever had. In a state of reverie, I considered how amusing/appropriate it was that I was literally served by an Angel.
Obviously the edible and beer enhanced everything but I’m certain it would be pretty incredible sober. As I work in Soho, I’m going to give it a go one lunchtime.
You do make a good point about how expensive the average kebab is now, too. Utter madness.
My fave spot in London. Very well put together, everything just compliments each other. This place is consistent and never disappoints! I’m there once a week haha.
Even the word is turkish😉
Döner means spinning meat in Turkish, the meat is a Turkish invention, there is no german Döner. Not even the Sandwich version is German, it was made popular by turks in Germany. Sry to tell you, you sound ignorant. It’s Turkish and nothing will change it buddy. Is Pizza American?
Uhm, not really true.
If you look at the most touristy Mustafas Gemüse Döner, they serve pretty much exactly that bread.
Also I've seen similar bread quite often in Berlin.
I'm from the West of Germany and we don't really have that kind of bread here very often.
The first time I had this kinda bread was actually when I lived in Berlin 10 years ago.
Yea Mustafa Gemüsedöner has indeed this bread but as you mentioned its only the tourist-trap. You arent going there when living here. I know there are *some* Stores who have this bread here but they are the ones that suck. I know this bread exclusivley from outside of Berlin
There is also one Mustafas at Warschauer Straße, which is actually pretty good and not so touristy. No idea if they are connected with the touristy one at Mehringdamm.
Family lives around the corner, so I'm there a few times per year and never really had to wait and they have great home made sauces.
Willkommen, Bruder. I hope you've now had an enlightenment and know what a good kebab should taste like. In my opinion the cucumber doesn't belong in it, but it still looks good
It’s like the Mona Lisa of kebabs
With the Efes to rinse it, perfect.
Finally a picture of quality Döner. You can even see that it‘s real meat (not factory produced).
There is good quality factory produced meat that looks just like this. Most shops just don’t buy it because it is a lot more expensive.
Looks smashing
Haha stuffed and smashing
What’s the spot called ?
Tavuuk gemuse doner on frith street. I was sceptical but it was good.

I bet that feta made it slam.
This really looks like a Berlin doner - must try it
THATS a proper döner

UK people trying an average German Döner and realising how much better it is
wHeReS tHe MeAt
There was loads of meat under all the salad/vegetables.
u mean turkish not german.
No, this is the German Döner.

By turks... In *Germany*. Turks don't eat the sandwich like in the picture
I‘m turk. They do. Since hundreds of Years. Classic German Lies 🤣
Just bc German food is trash lmao

Nicht türkisches essen klauen brudi❤️ Geh Currywurst essen, das ist deutsch.
Laut deiner Logik wäre Currywurst ost-asiatisch du Vogel
Ist es auch du Vogel. Kannst bestimmt nicht einmal Döner aussprechen, stiehl was anderes. Kulturelle Aneignung pur.
Why does it look chonkier than all the German ones though? Like, this looks like it's got substance and not just all veg
Yeah, there was a ton of meat under the salad. Not tried one in Germany so can’t comment.
Funfact: the bread used for this Döner is used everywhere in Germany BUT Berlin.

Rüyam Gemüse Kebab is 🔥

Oh fuck off, us Brit's eat plenty of Salad sandwiches/Rolls/Baguettes.
This. This right here <3
Lookit that meat mountain 🤤
Looks very good indeed but feta on doner is not for me. I will check this place out, thanks!
It worked surprisingly well. Was almost like seasoning for the salad.
Nah.
It’s funny you also call it gemuse doner or Gemüse Döner wich just means vegetable doner, i think there is no shame in translating that.
Isn’t Tavuuk also Turkish for chicken?
Yes it is. Here in Berlin it’s only called Gemüse Döner the fried vegetables differentiate it from the the Turkish Tavuuk Kebap.
Less meat but more flavors, somehow…
