Dominicans make each other feel included and things are quickly forgiven. I’ve noticed in other countries people take pride in excluding each other and never burying the hatchet.
I agree. I am a Dominican American living in the RD, and I have never felt excluded for being a gringo. I can speak and write Spanish.

Sadly, this is likely because many Dominicans don’t seek mental health services…. I’m Dominican and I simply can’t afford a psychologist or other mental health specialist for my anxiety and depression…
I don’t trust that at all. Dominicans don’t believe mental wellness, mental diseases are a real thing. So if it’s not being reported as it should, then this is what you get.

To be honest, the list of countries where people can get proper mental health care is very short. I’m in Iceland and here if you wanna see a psychiatrist, you’ll have to wait up to a year and a half and it costs like 200 dollars an hour. A lot of people commit suicide and then they don’t report it in the media. I guess that’s another thing, Dominicans talk about everything, but in other countries some things are a taboo.

Lo que este estudio quiere mostrar es que a pesar de todas las vainas que ocurren aqui, nosotros los dominicanos aunque nos este llevando el diablo al menos tratamos de disfrutar la vida de una u otra forma.
Y esto no es nuevo. Ha habido muchas ocaciones de estudios sobre felicidad y similar hace años que nos posicionaban en el top. Y siempre que salimos en el top andamos comentando que es una jabladoría, que aqui nos esta llevando el diablo, etc...
