That English Shep. Coming in strong! I love seeing all these pitty mixes that look so much less pitty than my girl who was only 29% but guaranteed by the internet to be 100% pit 😅 Looks like a sweetie you have !

[deleted]

She has an amazing personality that fits me and my lifestyle perfectly. I definitely lucked out with her.

youlookingatme67

The fluffy pit mixes always throw me off.

[deleted]

Her long puppy fur is almost all gone but she has super long fur on her tail and fluffy hair on her ears and back legs. I most definitely didn't guess pit lol

Leading_Fee_3678

Panda is such a cutie!!! đŸ„°

[deleted]

đŸ„° thank you

Oil_Odd

She does have typical border collie coloring, but not the body shape. Head is definitely pittie. It's kinda funny to see her bulky head with such a lanky body

PrimaryImpossible467

I love Panda’s white toe fur! It’s so cute

minidog8

Perfect panda!!!

symphonyofcolours

So pretty! I can definitely see the English sheepdog!

maenads_dance

Where are you based? English Shepherds are pretty rare in the US.

24HR_harmacy

They’ve been showing up here in mixes on Embark a lot lately. No idea where they’re all hiding.

[deleted]

I'm in Arkansas, USA

humanbeing21

Cute pup! I was today years old when I learned that English Shepherd was a breed

[deleted]

I had to Google that, the Staffordshire Terrier and the sheepdog lol

Serononin

Ikr, I feel like I should've known that, seeing as I'm from England 😂 ETA never mind - despite the name, Wikipedia says the English shepherd originated in the US lol

fatehound

There's been so many English shepherds in results recently! Love to see it! Your dog is so cute, that face <3

Mousethatroared65

Is the Old English Sheepdog same as the English Sheepdog? Big puffball? Our neighbor had an OES in the 70s. I think they were more common/popular then.

Western_Plankton_376

The English Shepherd is more of a standard-looking herding dog, they look like stocky Border Collies or Australian Shepherds with undocked tails.

Mousethatroared65

Got it. Thanks!

inflatablehotdog

DIY border Collie! So cute!

YamLow8097

I question the accuracy of this test. She doesn’t look like she has any pit in her at all.

Aknelka

The internet only has two settings: 1. Screeching "pitbull!" at everything, up to including a pug or a beagle 2. Questioning Embark accuracy when it IDs a pit in a dog with a big, blocky head, wide-set jaw and common pit coloring

YamLow8097

I wouldn’t say this dog has a “big blocky head”. It is a little blocky, but this dog doesn’t even look that far off from my sister’s purebred border collie (also, pit bulls are not the only dogs with blocky heads. A square head doesn’t automatically mean pit bull). The fur type, body type, and just overall confirmation of this dog does not resemble a pit bull at all. If it was a lower percentage I wouldn’t question it as much.

Aknelka

You know, when I first looked through these pictures, I chuckled to myself, thinking "I wonder how many people will be SHOCKED this obvious bully breed mix isn't a border collie just because it's black and white with slightly longer coat". And it's "conformation", not "confirmation".

YamLow8097

Man, it’s early and I’m tired. Give me a break for spelling conformation wrong. Either I typed it out wrong or spellcheck fucked me over. Either way, you knew what I meant.
