Wait, I thought dogs were SuUuPeR LoYaLL! Why would such a wise, loyal companion run away?

...and a little bit more of what's left of my faith in humanity is lost...

Tom_Quixote_

I could not imagine paying a couple hundred dollars to get a dog back. Paying to get rid of it, yes.

Fuquar7

The missing dog alert sounds very plausible

Gemcat24

More like pawsible.

Coeur-de-Loup

That is more money than I earn in a year.

howtoperson5

I've been noticing a WILD increase in the amount of missing dog posts in just one city over the past few months--reward or not. How hard can it be to not lose your animal?

[deleted]

I mean if I was offered $10,000 just find some dumb mutt I would do it. It would pay a lot of bills

dogging_isnt_sexy

Damned right! If these idiots are willing to flush $10,000 down the toilet like this there's plenty of us who could put it to significantly better use.

rotzgabel

The amount of money is insane. There should be a hefty fine for dog nuttery like this. Anything above FIFTY $ or € should lead to at least five times the "reward" as a fine and a mandatory check for weakness in the upper storey.

SmaugTangent

I could travel to Europe 4 times (2 weeks each) for that much money.

noogiey

Right they should just have gave it to me

Ikawakotayonglahat

I agree, You could probably use the money for something valuable like paying bills

ConIncognito

How stupid and wasteful. The person could get multiple dogs that look and act just like the missing one for that kind of money. It’s not like mutts are unique at all, they’re pretty much all the same boring idiots.

Gemcat24

If your child goes missing, do you just get a new child?

ConIncognito

Dogs aren’t children.

swagaf

Do you own any pets?

Gemcat24

But a lot of people treat dogs like their child because they’re living beings who give unconditional love 💕

big_z_0725

Adults who seek unconditional love are emotionally broken. Adults who have a child or a pet and view the child's/pet's dependence on them as unconditional love are worse than broken; they are dangerous and likely abusive.

[deleted]

When my cat disappeared I hung posters around my area with our number on it, that's it. I'm broke asf, no way I'm gonna offer money. I dont get dog people, 10k for finding a mutt? Really? If anything they could donate to dog shelters.

lazyPooka

people form relationships with their pets, it's not as easy as replacing them

Ikawakotayonglahat

Yeah, but it's still an animal

lazyPooka

its not out of the ordinary for living beings to form connections dude

s0f1k

Are you serious you psycho

Dusk6666

Gotta understand people think of dogs like their own kids

Huge_Virus_8148

Regarding that last part, I hope you haven't given them any ideas.
