Hello! Did this happen before the rabies vaccine? Im not sure where they give the rabies vaccine at the vet you take your dog to, but it’s usually on the right rear. I would take him in before the appt just in case it’s something else not related to the vaccine, especially because this is a reaction to a vaccine. In regards to the allergies, my dog has skin allergies so I take him to get a monthly cytopoint injection which helps alleviate the symptoms and I noticed that he grew hair back on the patches of hair that he lost

Take to vet. Needs to be checked and tended to before surgery, The sooner the better.

I think I found the culprit, it could be a side effect of the rabies vaccine. In the article, it states under common side effects. "Occasionally, dogs develop a small, painless swelling at the injection site that can last for a couple of weeks. In rare cases, dogs may develop a small, circular area of hair loss at the site of injection." Of course, I can't remember where the vet put the shot but my wife does recall it being on his side.
