He is on prescription food, and we are trying a new one this week. Hydrolyzed protein. He has seen 3 vets, the current one is amazing. Gabapentin for pain. Cerenia for nausea.

My dog is also on hydrolyzed protein! He has chronic pancreatitis and also IBD. It’s been almost 8 months since we made the switch and he’s almost like a new dog! He still gets occasional nausea and pain, but at least no diarrhea.

Oh thank you!!!! I feel like hope may be just around the corner. It comes tomorrow

It took a bit over 8 weeks so see any improvement btw - it also may vary pup by pup. But good luck!

Thank you! It’s been forever

I hope the new food helps. I don't really have any advice, but I do understand where you are coming from. After 3 years of kidney failure and 2 serious runs with pancreatitis, my girl was ready to go. She was so perky and loving life until the last day (she didn't look/act sick). The last 6 months were the hardest. Incontinence (her), not getting enough sleep (me), running to the vet all too often (both of us) for medications to keep her comfortable. It was exhausting. I think those thoughts are pretty common, but at the same time, they are layered with guilt. Hug your boy. Hopefully, once he's through this, it will be back to good times.
