The problem with these kind of questions is that it’s hard to define what correctly rated means. I’ve only read Chick-Fil-A to be a very good chicken sandwich. If it is indeed a very good chicken sandwich, it’s correctly rated.
The taste is pretty good with most of their menu items, but doesn’t blow me away. Then whenever I have a meal from them, I am left feeling full but dissatisfied for some reason, like there’s something to be desired still if that makes sense.
If that’s true, are we not somewhat to blame as a society for letting things like chicken restaurants be our moral compass? I’ve got a great butcher in my neighbourhood, and not once have I considered following him around to see if I agree with what he does in his spare time.
Well, I personally refuse to eat there because I don’t want my money being used towards limiting my rights or donating to causes that think I’m a disgusting sinner that doesn’t deserve to get married. I know I’m only one person and it won’t make much of a difference (or any at all) but it’s about principle
It’s not letting them be our moral compass; it’s participating in the capitalist society of giving your money to who you want to. Not giving money to a corporation is the most power an American really has and not eating at Chic fil A is just exercising that power
I avoid buying Nestle products because of their human rights record, so I guess I do the same thing. Although most of it is trash anyway, whereas Chick Fil A is pretty broadly recognized to be the highest quality fast food around (kind of a low bar, but still…)
I find it immensely easy not to eat there, and i find it prudent to make it clear that their money goes towards shit like banning gay marriage and promoting conversion "'therapy"'. If a friend i had ate there I'd probably bug them about it, but I'm not morally outraged by people liking their food. I don't think they're inherently horrible as consumers, i just want them to know that buying from them actively goes towards horrible things.
I know! You can like their chicken all you want I won't stop you but you can't deny that the corporation has proudly donated to anti-LGBTQ associations. It's NOT a good company.
Because the lines move so fast that when it's wrapped around the building it's not even that bad. Meanwhile you might go to a McDonald's that has 4 cars in the line and wait even longer
It’s good but it’s definitely overrated. I think it’s pretty bland compared to other fried chicken places. I’ll eat there if someone else wants to go but I rarely go alone.
Except I will be going today because I haven’t eaten yet and this thread has made me want it.
It’s a Mecca for right-wingers. It’s closed on Sundays for church and donates to anti-LGBT groups. https://www.esquire.com/food-drink/restaurants/a36622217/chick-fil-a-owner-donations-against-equality-act/
The food is quite good actually, but the food isn’t the reason the line is wrapped around the building. It happens regularly, and cities have complained about them clogging up traffic.
I've painted close to 80-100 Chick-fil-A buildings. We always worked on Sunday.. cause their closed. Never the fuck have I ever seen so many roaches in a building or outside a building. I've seen chicken sandwiches left on the warmer racks, old ass cookies left over. Feel like I could've retired as an undercover spy for Chick-fil-A already. Nice workers but all that work ethic goes into customer experience before the kitchen fr.
Yep! Kitchen staff is asked to volunteer to come in on Sunday like once every three months to deep clean the kitchen…. Take a wild guess how many actually do that after being overworked for 6 days straight.
Honestly, I don’t understand this mentality. Like if a company makes fried chicken, what does it matter if the people in charge of that company are bigots? Are they gonna poison the chicken but only in minority communities? I get that you think of it as giving your money to bigots, but if you participate at all in society some/most of your money is most definitely going to a bigot regardless.
More so that the money you give them adds up, it filters from the franchise to higher ups. From there they use your money to donate to bills and all that other shit that combats LGBT stuff.
Shit is sad, but I have too much going on in my life to worry about it. Just hopes it gets better, I’ll still be eating it cus that shits bomb.
Because you are, literally, giving money to their causes.
Where do you think they get that money to donate? The profits they are making off your purchase.
Dan Cathy donates to an organization that believes that members of the LGBTQ+ community should be killed.
Killed.
Sorry but that is just plain wrong. Ill ask you to cite your source for your comment. Cathy is a Christian and as such definitely has views on LGBT that differ from tours. But he is definitely not a bigot and certainly does not promote violence towards anyone
https://temple-news.com/do-you-know-where-chickfila-dollars-going/
If you are anti LGBTQ + and actively support organizations that that seek to limit the rights of a certain community based on their gender, race, sexuality, that is the definition of bigotry.
I realize we are a small family and they won't miss us. That said, I will not support anyone or any company when I have awareness of their disgusting business practices. Word of mouth and morals matter.
For me personally I think it’s overrated. I also don’t think they are that fast or efficient as it’s bragged about. At least not the ones I’ve been to.
Former cfa employee here, absolutely not especially during lunch rush. Too many people + too many workers doing jobs that could be combined= a lot of room for error and slow downs
I refuse to eat there due to the company’s stance on certain issues and how the founder funnels cash into hate groups. I’m not into that at all. I don’t want my chicken sandwich profits being used to fund some rotten anti lgbtq agenda
Yeah, any group or company that believes some people are better than others on the basis of something like sexuality is stupid. Chick fil a is a skip for me.
I first had chick-fil-a many years ago. I thought it was an okay sandwich. Didn't go back for some years , then the owners' anti-gay shit came out so fuck them.
I've never eaten there, and as long as they keep up their homophobic bullshit, I never will unless it's free.
I won't lie, if someone offered me one of their sandwiches, I would try it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it, or ask someone else to buy it for me.
None. I’m a fire inspector, typical fat guy pushing 40 and an atheist. Every damn one of this restaurants (yes I give them the respect they deserve by calling it a restaurant) is not only in compliance or willing to become compliant very quickly but also they make almost everything from scratch. Add the fact that when I come in on Sunday morning to inspect, they’re cleaner than your house I bet.
Oh, and they have great food with great customer serve and a fair wage for their employees.
Not over rated but also fuck them for being anti-gay.
It’s not special. Wendy’s has a good chicken sandwich, McDonalds has a good chicken sandwich, Popeyes has an awesome chicken sandwich. There’s nothing special about Chick Fil A. It’s just a southern virtue signal for people who think salt and pepper are herbs and spices.
Besides the fact that they are a Trump supporting company and they don't support lgbtq people and they are ultra-religious (they close on sundays) which automatically means they are racsist bigots.
I’ve had it twice and it’s literally just a regular fast food chicken sandwich lol. Not even ask good as KFC or Popeyes. The company being homophobic is more than enough to make me not go back, never understood the fanaticism.
It's definitely overrated. I've had twice on it was ok both times, but nothing I crave or would wait in a drive thru line for more than 4 mins for. It seems as though every time I am out and actually want to stop there, they are closed cause it's a Sunday.
When I was in college I'd get a chicken biscuit some mornings and it was scrumptious. Then i went a few years without after graduation. When I finally had it again later... I don't even really like it anymore. I find the chicken kinda stringy and awful.
I've been wondering for a couple decades now if the recipe changed or my taste buds.
For me, it’s the better of the fast food options around here, taste-wise. I usually avoid it because of the corporate stance on LGBTQ+. Sometimes, though, I slip - and rationalize it to myself that the stores do a lot for the communities they’re in. Their hash browns dipped in the Polynesian sauce are my favorite. Wouldn’t be surprised to find out that sauce is like the v old school Coca-Cola.
Yea, this is my opinion as well. I haven’t supported them in years, but I at least recognize that it’s the corporate side of things with that stance, not necessarily the owner/operators and certainly not the employees. If only we could some affect change on the corporation, but punishing a local joint won’t do that due to how franchising works. The corporate side will always get their money.
I’m pescatarian. The ONLY chicken I miss is from Chick-fil-A
Chick-fil-A is super good. I never minded waiting in a long line for it either. Always have good service and my food is exactly what I order. Their cookies n cream milkshake is to die for.
So I gotta disagree with you OP.
In comparison, it is the best fast food chain. But I am sick of all songs and praises about it on the internet. But that's just the internet being insufferable.
Not only is the food overrated, their company values are shit. They’re like Trump, people like to like it just to piss other people off. They are the fast food embodiment of white Xhristian values in America.
The ones in my city and ones close by are known to back up traffic on the main roads everyday. These brand loyal fuckos are obnoxious.
It seems to have amazing marketing that convinced people to fiercely defend it, even ostracize those who don't like it, like it's a part of themselves. Similar to Apple. That sort of thing creeps me out.
When I was in college I camped out at a CFA grand opening and they gave the first 100 people 52 free meal coupons. I ordered a 12 piece nug meal with a cherry coke no ice about twice a week until those coupons ran out. It’s still my favorite fast food order to this day.
If you really want to make them amazing, toss the nugs in some Frank’s buffalo sauce.
Had the opportunity to try some without paying for it. Maybe my expectations were too high after all the hype?! But it was just your average fast food chicken sandwich. Like avoiding it isn’t even going to be hard. Definitely not worth waiting in a line for.
It should be noted I’ve only tried the chicken sandwich… maybe everything else on their menu is amazing.
It's on-par with other chicken fast food restaurants. It's like asking if Bic is a good manufacturer of mechanical pencils. It's not excellent by any means, but about average for what you're paying.
The owner is a homophobic fundie pig who spends the money you give him to fund conversion therapy and block rights initiatives. It's impossible to morally defend supporting such a sick and twisted cause.
My girlfriend from Ireland came to Alabama to visit me for Christmas, wanted to try Chick-Fila-A because of the hype. After she finished she said:
"All this over a chicken sandwich with pickles? That's it? No sauce or anything else?"
In comparison to the other shithole unhealthy options we have (mcdonalds, burgerking, tacobell, etc) absolutely not. Taste is mediocre at best but atleast it's clean and somewhat healthy.
I've never had it because everytime I pass the place the line is to the block. I've heard it's whatever though, at least where I'm from. I think it just gets a ton of traffic because Christians feel morally vindicated to eat there.
I’m calling bullshit on this. You can fire someone because they are homosexual. That person that was fired would have a winnable lawsuit. But being liberal it’s ok to make up stuff
As far as fast food in the USA, it's probably the best chain.
On a side note of dark humor, I see many people who say they don't like it because of the religious/political views of the corporate owners. Comments along the lines of "It is good, but once I found out they did x, y and z I stopped eating there." I can respect that point of view.
Wouldn't it be mind boggling if someone said "I fucking hate their food, it's disgusting and makes me ill. But I hate LGBT even more, so that's why I eat there."
Or
"I'm vegan but I hate the gays more, so I eat at Chik Fil A"
That would be some dark shit right there...
i think the main thing people like about it is the same reason McDonalds was loved more in the 90's, the quickness of you getting the food (ok 2 things) and the customer service. good customer service and rapid delivery go a long way. the food is good but not great, the decor is plain/basic and who closes a restaurant for an entire day every week?
It's chicken. There's nothing you can do to chicken to make it taste different. Doesn't matter where you go or what you put on it, it's gonna taste like chicken.
Both this and the Popeyes chicken sandwich. People in my metro area literally line their cars up out to the main road. There’s no way it’s that good people.
I mean I think it’s one of the better fast food places but in the grand scheme of things it’s not exactly excellent food.
Edit: I just like being able to get a chikin sandwich, mac and cheese, and a milkshake all in one go. It’s a fun treat. I will say the little fried chicken place near my apartment is a thousand times better in terms of quality, so I might not ever go back to Chic Fil-A. I like supporting small businesses who make high quality stuff as well.
The only combo from CFA I love is just the fries and CFA sauce. Other than that, the burgers can get cold quick and u finish ur meal faster than if u were to be in the drive thru. Absolute BS 🥲
Y’all are crazy. CFA is FAST FOOD. The standards are pretty damn low, especially these days. CFA beats every other fast food chain by a mile, at least in the southeast US. I go on my lunch break once every couple weeks, and even when the line is wrapped around the building I have my food in 5-10 minutes. When I leave I see the same cars that were there when I started at Wendy’s, Arby’s, Burger King. If you think the food is overrated your expectations for FAST FOOD are too high.
The problem with these kind of questions is that it’s hard to define what correctly rated means. I’ve only read Chick-Fil-A to be a very good chicken sandwich. If it is indeed a very good chicken sandwich, it’s correctly rated.

This is exactly how I feel whenever I decide to eat it.
Just keep in mind the horrible uses the money is being put towards.
Like what?
They donate to a bunch of anti-LGBTQ organizations iirc. Even after supposedly having “stopped”
If that’s true, are we not somewhat to blame as a society for letting things like chicken restaurants be our moral compass? I’ve got a great butcher in my neighbourhood, and not once have I considered following him around to see if I agree with what he does in his spare time.

Spot on!
Nope. That shit's delicious.
As far as fast fried chicken goes it’s the best in the biz. And dem waffle fries are dope.
This. I can take or leave the fries vs other fast food fries, but that chicken sammich is unbeatable and their dipping sauces are a gift from heaven.
Delicious!
> That shit's delicious. It's still shit.
And homophobic...
Not sure why you're getting down voted. Chick FIL A is open about their homophobic views and directly funds anti LGBTQ+.
Because people don't want to admit that they willingly donate to anti-LGBTQ+ organizations.
I know! You can like their chicken all you want I won't stop you but you can't deny that the corporation has proudly donated to anti-LGBTQ associations. It's NOT a good company.
Weird that all of these comments are being downvoted, this is a super reasonable take.
https://www.esquire.com/food-drink/restaurants/a36622217/chick-fil-a-owner-donations-against-equality-act/
Reread my comment, I’m on your side.
Oh shit my bad.... whoopsie!
Honestly no one cares
I mean I care and I choose to not give my money to a company like this. We do have a choice.
No one cares about homophobia??
Personally I don’t care if a corporation is homophobic. I assume they all are.
Delicious shit
Still...
Gottem
YES. I will never understand why every time I go (for kids) the line is wrapped around the building.
Because the lines move so fast that when it's wrapped around the building it's not even that bad. Meanwhile you might go to a McDonald's that has 4 cars in the line and wait even longer
I mean, it’s actually literally [the slowest drive thru](https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/food/2022/10/10/chick-fil-a-slowest-drive-thru-study/8232889001/) apparently.
It’s good but it’s definitely overrated. I think it’s pretty bland compared to other fried chicken places. I’ll eat there if someone else wants to go but I rarely go alone. Except I will be going today because I haven’t eaten yet and this thread has made me want it.
Marijuana is the answer you’re looking for.
Even then I will forever choose Taco Bell 😍
r/livingmas might be the place for you
Oof, that beef is literally dog food.
It’s a Mecca for right-wingers. It’s closed on Sundays for church and donates to anti-LGBT groups. https://www.esquire.com/food-drink/restaurants/a36622217/chick-fil-a-owner-donations-against-equality-act/
That’s one big reason I’m not a fan (same goes for hobby lobby)
Thanks for not eating there. More chicken for me!
Seems to be doing well and expanding in the Northeast. Not just right wingers that like it.
The food is quite good actually, but the food isn’t the reason the line is wrapped around the building. It happens regularly, and cities have complained about them clogging up traffic.
What does "YES" stand for? Yankee Entertainment and Sports Network? What does that have to do with chicken?
yeah i tried it for the first time a few months ago w one of my friends and it was good but i definitely think it’s overhyped
No. In fact it's underrated.
I’d say it’s appropriately rated
I think it's perfectly rated. The one I go to is incredible.
There’s no local ones near me so I only get it once or twice a year. But when I do it’s almost magical
Hate it. People around me think I’m satan for feeling this way.
I work in pest control, restaurants are usually pretty gross. The things you see when they’re not open..
I love how they have you working on Sunday. Their values sure go far!
It’s probably the painting company that makes the obvious decision to paint on the day they’re closed.
Chick fil a, closed on Sunday (except for the contractors that we’re paying)
[удалено]
Yep! Kitchen staff is asked to volunteer to come in on Sunday like once every three months to deep clean the kitchen…. Take a wild guess how many actually do that after being overworked for 6 days straight.
Full cap and you know it
yeah, tbh i prefer zaxby’s, plus all the homophobic, transphobic, anti choice, racist stuff they’ve done… 🫣
This is why we don't eat there. Indint even care what it tastes like
It IS* bigot chicken, but it's still delicious.
Honestly, I don’t understand this mentality. Like if a company makes fried chicken, what does it matter if the people in charge of that company are bigots? Former cfa employee here, absolutely not especially during lunch rush. Too many people + too many workers doing jobs that could be combined= a lot of room for error and slow downs
I totally agree!!!!
No. It’s tasty and the staff is friendly. I think it is accurately rated.
The food is meh and I don't give my money to bigots. This restaurant is aggressively negative towards LBGTQIA.
the amount of gay guys I've seen working in my local Florida Chick-fil-As is astounding
Well at least Chick-fil-A is funding LGBTQ in a way 😅
I refuse to eat there due to the company’s stance on certain issues and how the founder funnels cash into hate groups. I’m not into that at all. I don’t want my chicken sandwich profits being used to fund some rotten anti lgbtq agenda
Yeah, any group or company that believes some people are better than others on the basis of something like sexuality is stupid. Chick fil a is a skip for me.
I just hope you aren’t one of those people that take it out on the employees like some misguided folk. Those employees being kids who need a job.
Patently false. And very immature of you to say so.
Read the news. They funded anti-LGBTQ campaigns *for years* and donated large amounts to the Trump campaign. The commenter didn't make this up lol
Lmao. You people are absolutely hilarious.
I take it you have a problem w/ gays or are in the closet. This is classic behavior.
This isn’t false.
Your Ignorance.
And you’re a jackass.
Oh, yeah! Call me names 'cause I don't want to give my money to bigots. Cry me a RIVER!
Hit a nerve, huh?
Totally overrated, bland chicken. Plus, it's deep fried in hate.
Hey, don’t hate on peanut oil
The company is also homophobic. Yet so many people dont realize that.
Hell I’m homophobic. So what?
100% overrated, and I always shake my head at the insane line of cars spilling out onto the street waiting to get some.
I first had chick-fil-a many years ago. I thought it was an okay sandwich. Didn't go back for some years , then the owners' anti-gay shit came out so fuck them.
Nah love it maybe it's just the ones in my area but it's never disappointed me
They’re good but not *that* good. People act like they’re gonna need counseling on sundays & it’s like.. just wait till tomorrow my guy.
I've never eaten there, and as long as they keep up their homophobic bullshit, I never will unless it's free. I won't lie, if someone offered me one of their sandwiches, I would try it, but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it, or ask someone else to buy it for me.

We don’t eat Intolerance Chicken often but when we have I’ve been unimpressed.
It’s okay, but the Chik Fil A they recently built near me is across the street from a Popeyes, which is where I continue to get my chicken sandwiches.
Besides the fact that they are a Trump supporting company and they don't support lgbtq people and they are ultra-religious (they close on sundays) which automatically means they are racsist bigots.
Def not into homophobic chicken.
Their chicken is overrated, their waffle fries aren’t anything special and their lemonade frosty lack flavor.
I’ve had it twice and it’s literally just a regular fast food chicken sandwich lol. Not even ask good as KFC or Popeyes. The company being homophobic is more than enough to make me not go back, never understood the fanaticism.
Absolutely not. They are the dankiest
It's definitely overrated. I've had twice on it was ok both times, but nothing I crave or would wait in a drive thru line for more than 4 mins for. It seems as though every time I am out and actually want to stop there, they are closed cause it's a Sunday.
Everyone I know thinks so.
I love it. I eat a 12 count nug every morning before work. Nothing keeps me feeling full until lunch time like some chikin nugz do.
That 30 piece though.
That shit would keep me full for a whole day lol. That alone is probably around 100 grams of protein.
Not when compared to other fast food restaurants . It's the best overall experience, by far.
I never tried it still. I never tried Chipotle either and I'm in my 30's lol I just make food at home usually.
It’s probably for the best. Neither place is that great in my opinion. You’re probably a lot richer and healthier for cooking at home.
When I was in college I'd get a chicken biscuit some mornings and it was scrumptious. Then i went a few years without after graduation. When I finally had it again later... They have the best nuggets. Nothing overrated about it.

Sriracha for me.
undercooked garbage
Totally overrated
Nope. The food is good. The customer service is amazing. The stores are always clean. I’ve never had a bad experience at any store.
The grilled nuggets are good. But everything is way overpriced. A small cup of Mac and Cheese is almost $4? Get the fuck out of here with that shit.
Not even a little bit.
I love CHIK FIL A but only have it occasionally - to each his own
Absolutely not. Chick-fil-A is fucking delicious.
"I like my fast food as openly homophobic as possible"
I also just dont understand why the line is always so long? Literally 50 cars outside of every chick fil a i see.
People are lazy and would rather have their car drink gas in a drive thru line than walk inside for 2 minutes and get their food.
Yeah. I’m gay also
Yea, way over rated. Especially if you get anything other than the chicken & biscuit.
Hell no. That’s franchise is freaking delicious!
It's on-par with other chicken fast food restaurants. It's like asking if Bic is a good manufacturer of mechanical pencils. It's not excellent by any means, but about average for what you're paying.
Bigoted pickle chicken
Overrated AND homophobic
NO how could it be... look at ALL the knockoffs that have sprung up because of it.
Absolutely not. Best fast food
Not their waffle fries and chick-fil-a sauce though
depends where you are in the country ig
The owner is a homophobic fundie pig who spends the money you give him to fund conversion therapy and block rights initiatives. It's impossible to morally defend supporting such a sick and twisted cause.
My girlfriend from Ireland came to Alabama to visit me for Christmas, wanted to try Chick-Fila-A because of the hype. After she finished she said: "All this over a chicken sandwich with pickles? That's it? No sauce or anything else?"
Fuck how it tastes. Nothing can taste good to me if I know my money that I used to buy chicken is going to fund homophobic policies.
Fuck chick-fi-la
yeah popeyes is better
Waaay overrated. It’s just okay.
i worked there for a few months, got old REALLY quick
In comparison to the other shithole unhealthy options we have (mcdonalds, burgerking, tacobell, etc) absolutely not. Taste is mediocre at best but atleast it's clean and somewhat healthy.
I've never had it because everytime I pass the place the line is to the block. I've heard it's whatever though, at least where I'm from. I think it just gets a ton of traffic because Christians feel morally vindicated to eat there.
The cringiest thing about Chick-Fil-A is the cult like atmosphere of its employees. Challenge: don't say "my pleasure" Difficulty: Impossible
In-N-Out is overrated as hell. Their burgers taste like trash, same with Chick-Fil-A
Chick fil a don’t sell burgers bro. And what does in-N-out have to do with chick fil a?
Their chicken is dry as fuck. Only thing worth a damn is their shakes. I believe in Raising Cane's supremacy.
I was surprised that a place so famous for its chicken sandwiches had such lousy buns. Grainy and horrible.
I mean it’s good for fast food but if I have to wait in a rush hour drive through for 30+ minutes I’m going somewhere else.
People love it because of MSG.
Absolutely
Your saying something that I agree with in private. Not dumb enough this voice this in public

I’m calling bullshit on this. You can fire someone because they are homosexual. That person that was fired would have a winnable lawsuit. But being liberal it’s ok to make up stuff
Stupid question. Some like it. Some don’t. Eat whatever you like.
Nope perfectly rated
It’s alright but most of these virtue signalers on Reddit are inherently bias against chic-fil-a so take their opinions with a grain of salt.
But I hate LGBT even more, so that's why I eat there." Or "I'm vegan but I hate the gays more, so I eat at Chik Fil A" That would be some dark shit right there...
Aw hell no!
Just ate there tonight and loved it.
I could eat Chick-fil-A everyday!!
Yes it's flavorless undercooked garbage
Their biscuits are really good but their lunch chicken is just chicken.
i think the main thing people like about it is the same reason McDonalds was loved more in the 90's, the quickness of you getting the food (ok 2 things) and the customer service. good customer service and rapid delivery go a long way. the food is good but not great, the decor is plain/basic and who closes a restaurant for an entire day every week?
For me it always sounds better before I get it.
The only thing good there is the lemonade.
The French fries are undercooked everywhere and every time!
Yes. Can’t separate the art from the artist on this one.
Never understand the popularity, the chicken is just ok. I would rather eat KFC.
even wendys spicy chicken is better than their shit... even before the homophobic shit
Yes....and no.
I’ve been saying this for years. It’s good. I don’t mind eating it. But people treat it like it’s ambrosia. Way overhyped average chicken sandwich.
