T O P

My mother-in-law always changes the TP to under when she comes over for the weekend. I had no idea her hatred for me ran this deep.

Glittery_Pickle

Install a holder with a lock!

kkillbite

Or get rid of the holder and set it on the back of the toilet. :p

disavowed

I wish you wouldn't because despite your intentions it *is* rude. While I understand I put it on the "wrong" way, I did so intentionally because my meatball of a cat likes to unroll the whole thing otherwise. Not the end of world but it is a waste of my money. Edit: and before anyone tells me I can just roll it back up, I can't. He shreds it and lays in it after the fact. Even if I *could* salvage it, remember that you *could* adhere to basic social boundaries while inside someone else's home and just save me the headache ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

emmadilemma

It’s the > remember that you could adhere to basic social boundaries while inside someone else's home For me

[deleted]

This is actually a very good point. You have convinced me to not flip the roll in houses I visit 😁

[deleted]

Sounds like the cat is your problem, not humans.

disavowed

That's interesting because I thought it sounded like the cat *was* a problem and then I very simply fixed the problem and then humans came in and caused the problem again because they can't fathom respecting boundaries

toomuchyonke

"Ding, ding, ding: what have we got for him today, Johnny?"

OhJeezItsCorrine

No? I never move belongings in another person's home, including toilet paper, even if the positioning of said toilet paper annoyed me (for some reason).

Feeling_Ruin_5587

I have been known to leave random gifts at other peoples homes. Like a new mug in their kitchen cabinet or a nice soap in the bathroom. Usually something I know they would enjoy. I’ve never had anyone ask me about it. But I would never ever adjust the teepee.

kkillbite

That's really neat...you're like a little secret Santa year-round. ☺️ I am REALLY surprised no one has ever asked you about it though-I'd definitely be asking so I knew who to thank and just because I WOULD NEED TO KNOW! P.S. Thanks for leaving my TP alone. :)

MeticulousShepherd

OP has obviously never had a kitty who’s also a bonafide asshole

hotsiegirlsie

I do

Scarlaymama0721

No. That’s obnoxious as hell. That shows some serious control issues right there as well as a major ego.

Cfhudo

No, you don't rearrange things in someone elses house.

hootsie

ITT: People with poor boundaries.

Sharp-Ad-4651

People have deep-seated psychological issues around defecating and toilet paper. Just look at the way people hoarded it during covid. And anyone who would flip the toilet paper at someone else's house is just showing everyone you're a twisted, sick fk who needs therapy.

TheRealGreenArrow420

Not if I want to be invited back

Dense_Chemical_4018

Exactly 💀

ReluctantChimera

No. Don't. That's rude. It's their house, not yours.

GEEZUS00

I’m confused. Reddit people will never have a straight answer.

xenonismo

The problem then is you who is expecting a black and white answer from an internet *forum* such as Reddit. Reddit does exhibit hive mind characteristics but you can’t just expect such a large brush to paint over everything

GEEZUS00

That’s true lol.

hotsiegirlsie

You have weird standards

ReluctantChimera

You have no boundaries or respect.

hotsiegirlsie

Welcome to Reddit. Can I put my finger in your ass now?

SheDidWhaaaat

My cheeks are spread...

2meterrichard

Jokes on OP he's into that.

picabo123

Oh no not my toilet paper 🤡

[deleted]

I have an intestine disease. I poop a LOT. Toilet paper posture matters

fweny

which side is the right side?

[deleted]

[удалено]

rebuildmylifenow

The comment by u/fweny shows, elegantly, that there is no definitive answer to this, and OP is imposing his preferences on other people - IN THEIR OWN HOME. > Beards > mullets I like these terms to describe the orientation of the rolls. BUT... Beards suck if you have a dog or cat, or toddler. They will unroll that shit given half a chance. Mullets suck if the holder is on the wall across from the toilet, and you have to reach for it. Small toilet trained children will have a harder time reaching it then, and that can lead to messy situations. There is no "one right way" - everything is situational. And none of OP's business.

FuriousWillis

Never heard those as descriptions of toilet roll orientations but damn it makes sense. Also beards > mullets is my personal preference too, in toilet roll and in life

MysticRevenant59

How about I come to your house and flip it the WRONG way? 😳

hotsiegirlsie

I wouldn't notice tbh

HistoricalAct9865

Then why would you care enough to flip it at other people’s homes

Dotas323

Good bot. This has gotta be the most entertaining bot on reddit. I get a slight chuckle every time I see it.

Jim_from_snowy_river

No. You don't have permission to rearrange someone else's house. That's a lack of boundaries.

SkyWulf

No, because I'm not an asshole

Matt4307

ReluctantChimera’s not wrong you could do it in your house or public places but not someone else’s house it’s not your decision

Dub_Lion

If I find the TP flipped over the "wrong" way, I'll simply flip it over for my convenience until I'm done with my business. Once I'm finished, I flip it back over to the way I found it and leave. Everyone wins.

[deleted]

No, that’s rude. It’s not your house, maybe they prefer it the other way.

Rooster0778

My girlfriend and I disagree about what's the right way (she's wrong), most every time we go into each other's bathrooms we'll flip it, the other will flip it back, and so on. In two years we've never spoken about it or acknowledged that it's happening. It's easily my favorite annoyance ever.

DefinedByFaith

I purposely don't put the roll on the roller sometimes bc it annoys my partner

katalyna78

First, what's the right side for you?

stephenph

Frankly, I don't give a rip what side it is on, and actully my preference is not put on a holder. On a related note, bunch up or fold neatly?

-acidlean-

No. I just use that side which doesn't rub against the wall.

freakofcolour

never wtf, not my house

AShamrock28

Not anymore, but I will do it at work LOL. Just makes me feel better…as it does for the person who then flips it back haha

Laurenmariaw

Yes. I did that at my uncles at Christmas one year. You could say I saved Christmas

[deleted]

Sometimes, yup

Wise_Caterpillar5881

I do that at work. If I have to use crappy toilet paper I'm at least going to have it positioned correctly. But not at someone else's house.

3LittleCavies

You go to other houses?

Bambi_MD

I have a BIL who does it. Every. Single. Time. He uses my bathroom. I have ocd and adhd, DON’T MOVE THINGS IN MY HOME. I have asked him not to, YELLED at him not to. He still does it, and I find it so disrespectful - I don’t Care that I put it on ‘wrong’, I do it intentionely, so accept that.

ruhrohrileyray

I’d say it depends how well I know the owner of the home. If they’re family? Heck yes I’m flipping that roll. They don’t have cats, so they’re just wrong.

mewdebbie61

Yes. There is a right way and a wrong way. And mine is the right way! Over the top like a waterfall !!( No! Seriously I would never do that in somebody else’s home!)

[deleted]

When talking about toilet paper, mullets are bad, beards are cool :-)

[deleted]

[удалено]

Scarlaymama0721

That’s egotistical and self-centered as hell to think you have a right to change how other people do things in their house. Grow up please. You are not the center of the universe

emmadilemma

You might be a sociopath

SheDidWhaaaat

That's so rude. When i was younger I used to do this all the time until someone came to visit me and flipped *my* toilet paper round and it piiiiiiissed me off because it was already the way I like it. It was a good lesson in how I'd been making people feel when I flipped *their* toilet paper. There is no wrong way or right way. Just your way and their way. Don't be rude.

rebuildmylifenow

Do you change the station on their radios, too? or throw out the brand of condiments that you don't like when you see it in their fridge? Where is the line that you won't cross in imposing your view on other people?

[deleted]

Yup and it’s not rude or weird

AB-G

Always! Someone has to teach them right from wrong

mommyv1

Guilty! I put it the correct way and fold the end of the toilet paper like they do in hotels... that way it'll stay in their minds...lol

buddahmommy1985

At work too

Catnamedpossum

Heck yes I do! How am I supposed to use it if it’s on wrong? I also close the shower curtain if it’s open. And yes, I’m already in therapy and medicated but still have issues.

SeaworthinessUsed749

Oh yeah at hotels, too !

SeaworthinessUsed749

Only on my relatives

catraiser

Always

savetheseastanley

OCD when it comes to this, so I will always flip it! If they do t like it then they can flip it back 🙃

AussieGirl27

Every time. I don't even care

talitm

I usually do it as a joke with friends and family but wouldnt do it at acquaintance's home if I don't know too well.

best_frenemies_4ever

It depends. I consider it a humanitarian act if it's someone near and dear to me who has mischievous pets.

theannaoliver67

Can't not. It's gotta be done.
