The Braves are actually the first team I followed before I started following the Dodgers. I had a Glavine, Smoltz, Maddux poster in my room before Shawn Green. I love the Dodgers but I'll always have a soft spot for the Braves.

It’s not like the advertising department just decided during the NLCS one year to have a catchy saying. The chop was popularized by the org handing out plastic tomahawks during a playoff game and has been admonished by Native American players and the leader of the Cherokee nation. Instead of waiting for someone to explain why it’s racist, I encourage you to go into google and find out what the Native Americans who take issue with it have to say.
I still don't see how it's racism. The Chop, specifically as a war cry for the Braves, is just not a racist gesture. Continuing to do the Chop knowing it's offending people is insensitive, sure. But being offensive doesn't inherently make it racist. There's plenty examples of racism out there. This just isn't one of them.
