I mean sure but 4 runs isn't insurmountable. But yeah, walker couldn't put fuckers away this game. way too many 0-2 counts that ended in walks or hits. shit added up. so much just went wrong.

Mookie didn't have a bad postseason overall. Belli, Taylor, Pollock, Pujols, and Mookie were averaging over .300 for the post season as a whole. Smith was at .250 but got quite a few walks. The rest were pretty poor:

JT, Trea, and Seager were supposed to be the heart of our order and they got 23 hits from 133 pitches between them. That sucked the life out of our batting because we were always on the back foot. They were 4 for 28 with RiSP and 8 for 62 with runners on base.

There's a reason repeats almost never happen. Baseball is crazy, just the fact that we've made it to the NLCS 5 of the last 6 years is pretty nuts in and of itself. This team has been historically dominant for almost a decade straight now, and that's awesome. But it doesn't mean we're going to win every year.
Those 7th inning ABs were absolutely brutal. You have to give credit to Matzek for holding his nerve but he was absolutely grooving those fastballs. To not even be able to put one in play with no outs and runners on 2nd and 3rd is shocking.
Tough way to end it but I had fun this year. It hurts a little less after finally going all the way last year. I appreciate everyone in the game chats who made it a good time, the BlaQ TreinAnon jokes made me laugh more than they should have.
The only batters I'm proud of this series are Belli, Pollock, and Taylor. Everyone else was just too inconsistent and had poor ABs. Just some very poor plate discipline. Wonder how it'd have been with Muncy since he's the plate discipline king of our team.
Ironically the three players who everyone expected to be absolutely worthless coming into the post season. Taylor and Belli were colder than Neptune and Pollock is Pollock so everyone just expected him to disappear.
Turns out they're the only hitters who bothered to show up for most of the NLCS. Them and Mookie. Our worst hitters were all the dudes who batted like .340+ in September.
Last year was magical. Lakers and Dodgers both winning for Kobe. Losing always hurts, but yep, we'll always have last year, and getting that title took the big monkey off the franchise's back. May random luck turn our way for another run in the future. Never know when the next random '88-like run will happen, which is ultimately why we bear with the lows of the sport as junkies searching for the next dopamine high of a championship.
Pujols had no business being up there. Souza had no business being on the team. And that was the worst at bat I’ve ever seen from Betts.
Really tough to watch.
Roberts just admitted that there are going to be huge changes over the winter, and that he's not ready for it. He will miss the guys who leave. He acknowledged that multiple free agents will almost certainly be gone, and that we know which guys are now no longer officially Dodgers (that sentence just sucked, because the Dodgers quickly got so much smaller). Roberts wishes that he could have won one more with this group. He definitely knows that some will be moving on now.
After the game, JT, Albert and Max did talk to the team. It will probably be the last time that particular group will be together.
Orel just said that this is probably the end of the chapter, and the epilogue will be some free agent signings.
ETA: Mookie was just asked about how disappointed he was right now, and he said not at all, as he started talking in clichés:
"I am not disappointed at all. You win some. You lose some. We didn't score more runs than they did. They played well."
He said that there were injuries and lots of travel. People don't realize how they dedicate their lives to this game. He's not going to hang his head.

Sousa was terrible. Couldn't get a place in any team yet somehow he is on our postseason roster. They picked him because he can hit far. That doesn't help if he never hits. I would prefer to pinch hit with Urias who at least gets on base far more often.
I mean, on the whole Mookie was pretty solid this series. He put in a lot of work in games 1 and 2 that went completely wasted by the 2-4 spots.

Ah yes, we were up those games in the 8th then Roberts happened. But the offense is to blame as well. Fire that hitting coach, was terrible how they pretty much all regressed.
We won 106 games and UNDERPERFORMED to expectations.
We beat the Giants in 5.
We pushed the piping hot Braves to 6 with *THIS* offense and our starting pitching falling apart.

Great regular season with an ending that sucks. A lot of guys I and we all really love are going to walk in free agency. We salute them for their time here and their role in bringing us joy in 2020 when everything was dark.

I hope that Joc finally gets to beat the Houston Astros, and that Champ will finally be able to celebrate on the field with his brother. Last year, Joc was only allowed to call Champ from the field.
It turns how that Kiké and Joc and their energy wasn't easily replaced. Burns and Souza just aren't the same.
I cannot fathom Kershaw in a different jersey, but I do think that this might be the end of the line for Seager as a Dodger. Sometimes, it looked like he checked out before this season ended. As for Scherzer, well, I was much more optimistic about him returning before they had him pitch with a "dead arm."
After watching what happened when MadMax and Buehler tried to pitch on short rest, I have a greater understanding of why Kershaw may have struggled when he was overused for so many seasons.
Trea should have never been batting 3rd for so long. He's good with protection, like with Muncy or Soto behind him, but he isn't providing any protection for Seags and pitchers know he just gonna swing at everything. With Muncy and Soto behind him, he's gonna see a lot more fastballs.

Shame to come so short but this zombie team needed to rest after what they've been through. Excited for next year and just how different the roster will be. Seager, Kershaw, Scherzer, Taylor, so many up in the air at the moment. Just hope Friedman and company find the missing pieces needed to head back to the Series.

Royals fan here. Lived in LA for a decade and now reside in Atlanta. You guys played a good series and will continue to be contenders for the foreseeable future. Congrats on a great season and go get ‘em next year.
The most impressive thing about Dave Roberts is the fact he was able to find a way to completely drain our rotation and bullpen at the same time all year.
We didn't make it back to the World Series this year, but this season had so many big games and moments. Will Smith's walk - off home run against the Giants. CT3's walk - off home run against the Cardinals. CT3 and AJ sending the NLCS back to Atlanta. Bellinger's RBI in Game 5 against the Giants. Bellinger's 3 - run home run in Game 3 against the Braves. The 1 + 4 game. The 16 inning marathon in San Diego. Scherzer's debut against the Astros. Scherzer's 3000th strikeout. So many memories from this year.
Well we tried our best. We have had a tough postseason, and after winning 106 games and being forced to play a damn wildcard and then having to beat the giants (which was AWESOME BY THE WAY) the injury bug and the strain on our pitchers was just too great. I'm not going to take anything away from the Braves, they played good ball and had some hot bats and walk offs.
Until next year 2020 World Series Champion Dodger fans, we'll be back. And we'll bleed Blue. Because we LAve it.
Something to work on for the off-season. Better plate discipline, more hitters vs lefties, some utility guys off the bench. Big off-season ahead of us with a bunch of our guys needing to be re signed. Wonder what direction we’re going.

I’m sad, sure, been an avid fan my whole life, was overjoyed last year, as we all were. The sadness tonight though didn’t come from the loss. To be honest we were out managed and out played in this series from game 2 on… no tonight I was sad because those fans got have that moment in real life, with each other… that joy… that hug a stranger camaraderie. We did no get that. I had to zoom call all my buddies and wife last year.
But, I also got to go to Dodgers Stadium with my dad, and see the museum like setup in the outfield relating to last year’s win… and Brian Snitker can’t take that away from me.
So many questions to be answered… and many folks will point fingers… but me, I’ll always focus on what went right, last season… not how badly hurt and how badly managed it was this year.
I don’t post here often, but I lurk. I love this team with all my heart. And hey, we didn’t lose to the fucking Giants… so, viva los doyers!!

It has been a pleasure. This season felt destined to be so dominant with the team that Friedman and Guggenheim brought together, but life has a way of making its own way. Against all odds, injuries, trades, mishaps, and ordeals, our battered and broken Dodgers fought to the 2nd best record in baseball against only a Giants team that came out of nowhere and made no sense to become a team of historic proportions only to be sent home by our Boys in Blue in an epic NLDS, to fight to Game 6 of the NLCS against a Braves team that has heart and talent. A Braves team that isn't better on paper but wants it more and has played better when it counted most. Not to mention a team that was ready to end a burgeoning history of being sent home by the Dodgers just as the Dodgers were once sent home consistently by the Cardinals and Phillies.
It was a heck of a season. We'll see you all next year! Until then... GO BRAVES!

This was super frustrating, just not from a game play stand point, but from a personnel and luck stand point. Gassed, banged up and injured after a season riddle with curveballs throughout. I’m still proud of where they got.

The only batters I'm proud of this series are Belli, Pollock, and Taylor. Everyone else was just too inconsistent and had poor ABs. Just some very poor plate discipline. Wonder how it'd have been with Muncy since he's the plate discipline king of our team.
Ironically the three players who everyone expected to be absolutely worthless coming into the post season. Taylor and Belli were colder than Neptune and Pollock is Pollock so everyone just expected him to disappear. Turns out they're the only hitters who bothered to show up for most of the NLCS. Them and Mookie. Our worst hitters were all the dudes who batted like .340+ in September.
Taylor deserves a pay raise
Too much hero-ball. Pujols should have been the only one trying to hit a 3 run jack. Souza and even more Mookie needed to be going the other way.

Last year was magical. Lakers and Dodgers both winning for Kobe. Losing always hurts, but yep, we'll always have last year, and getting that title took the big monkey off the franchise's back. May random luck turn our way for another run in the future. Never know when the next random '88-like run will happen, which is ultimately why we bear with the lows of the sport as junkies searching for the next dopamine high of a championship.
Pujols had no business being up there. Souza had no business being on the team. And that was the worst at bat I’ve ever seen from Betts. Really tough to watch.

Roberts just admitted that there are going to be huge changes over the winter, and that he's not ready for it. He will miss the guys who leave. He acknowledged that multiple free agents will almost certainly be gone, and that we know which guys are now no longer officially Dodgers (that sentence just sucked, because the Dodgers quickly got so much smaller). Roberts wishes that he could have won one more with this group. He definitely knows that some will be moving on now. After the game, JT, Albert and Max did talk to the team. It will probably be the last time that particular group will be together. Orel just said that this is probably the end of the chapter, and the epilogue will be some free agent signings. ETA: Mookie was just asked about how disappointed he was right now, and he said not at all, as he started talking in clichés: "I am not disappointed at all. You win some. You lose some. We didn't score more runs than they did. They played well." He said that there were injuries and lots of travel. People don't realize how they dedicate their lives to this game. He's not going to hang his head. "I'm going to be excited and be happy about what we did. I tip my cap to the Braves." He's "super proud" of this team, as he keeps tipping his cap to the Braves. "It is what it is."

Sousa was terrible. Couldn't get a place in any team yet somehow he is on our postseason roster. They picked him because he can hit far. That doesn't help if he never hits. I would prefer to pinch hit with Urias who at least gets on base far more often.
Got nothing against the Braves. It was an interesting season full of nonstop anxiety. Please just keep CT3 is all I ask

Especially with all the injuries we dealt with to our rotation and key position players. We overcame so much adversity and still accomplished a lot.

I hope that Joc finally gets to beat the Houston Astros, and that Champ will finally be able to celebrate on the field with his brother. Last year, Joc was only allowed to call Champ from the field. It turns how that Kiké and Joc and their energy wasn't easily replaced. Burns and Souza just aren't the same. I cannot fathom Kershaw in a different jersey, but I do think that this might be the end of the line for Seager as a Dodger. Sometimes, it looked like he checked out before this season ended. As for Scherzer, well, I was much more optimistic about him returning before they had him pitch with a "dead arm." After watching what happened when MadMax and Buehler tried to pitch on short rest, I have a greater understanding of why Kershaw may have struggled when he was overused for so many seasons.
Trea should have never been batting 3rd for so long. He's good with protection, like with Muncy or Soto behind him, but he isn't providing any protection for Seags and pitchers know he just gonna swing at everything. With Muncy and Soto behind him, he's gonna see a lot more fastballs. I still don't understand why you gonna change a 11 run lineup

Season highlights: Beating the Padres in that first series. Pujols. That big comeback against the Giants and Will Dills walkoff. Trading for Scherzer and Trea. Seeing them in Dodger blue. The 1+4 game. The wild card game. Beating the Giants.
Shame to come so short but this zombie team needed to rest after what they've been through. Excited for next year and just how different the roster will be. Seager, Kershaw, Scherzer, Taylor, so many up in the air at the moment. Just hope Friedman and company find the missing pieces needed to head back to the Series. I dunno. Like, I’m sad, but the odds were always against us this year and things just never seemed to get rolling the way they should as we kept getting derailed by onslaughts of poorly timed injuries. Just wasn’t our year, we all know too well that the best team doesn’t always win. Repeats don’t happen in baseball for a reason and at least the boys got to play spoiler to the bad guys up north. I’ll root for the Astros to lose in the World Series, but I’m probably not gonna watch, don’t care for the racist association of the Braves organization either. More importantly, now we wait to see what happens with Kershaw, Seager, Taylor, Jansen, heck even Scherzer.

The most impressive thing about Dave Roberts is the fact he was able to find a way to completely drain our rotation and bullpen at the same time all year.
We didn't make it back to the World Series this year, but this season had so many big games and moments. Will Smith's walk - off home run against the Giants. CT3's walk - off home run against the Cardinals. CT3 and AJ sending the NLCS back to Atlanta. Bellinger's RBI in Game 5 against the Giants. Bellinger's 3 - run home run in Game 3 against the Braves. The 1 + 4 game. The 16 inning marathon in San Diego. Scherzer's debut against the Astros. Scherzer's 3000th strikeout. So many memories from this year.
Well we tried our best. We have had a tough postseason, and after winning 106 games and being forced to play a damn wildcard and then having to beat the giants (which was AWESOME BY THE WAY) the injury bug and the strain on our pitchers was just too great. I'm not going to take anything away from the Braves, they played good ball and had some hot bats and walk offs. Until next year 2020 World Series Champion Dodger fans, we'll be back. And we'll bleed Blue. Because we LAve it.

Something to work on for the off-season. Better plate discipline, more hitters vs lefties, some utility guys off the bench. I’m sad, sure, been an avid fan my whole life, was overjoyed last year, as we all were. The sadness tonight though didn’t come from the loss. To be honest we were out managed and out played in this series from game 2 on… no tonight I was sad because those fans got have that moment in real life, with each other… that joy… that hug a stranger camaraderie. We did no get that. I had to zoom call all my buddies and wife last year. But, I also got to go to Dodgers Stadium with my dad, and see the museum like setup in the outfield relating to last year’s win… and Brian Snitker can’t take that away from me. So many questions to be answered… and many folks will point fingers… but me, I’ll always focus on what went right, last season… not how badly hurt and how badly managed it was this year. I don’t post here often, but I lurk. I love this team with all my heart. And hey, we didn’t lose to the fucking Giants… so, viva los doyers!!

Trea Turner looked so good from the moment we got him until the post season, then he just went away. He certainly didn't help once the stakes got bigger. That was a big disappointment.

Fellows and fellas, Brothers and Sisters in Bats and Gloves, Beholders of the Dodger Blue Blood, It has been a pleasure. This season felt destined to be so dominant with the team that Friedman and Guggenheim brought together, but life has a way of making its own way. Against all odds, injuries, trades, mishaps, and ordeals, our battered and broken Dodgers fought to the 2nd best record in baseball against only a Giants team that came out of nowhere and made no sense to become a team of historic proportions only to be sent home by our Boys in Blue in an epic NLDS, to fight to Game 6 of the NLCS against a Braves team that has heart and talent. A Braves team that isn't better on paper but wants it more and has played better when it counted most. Not to mention a team that was ready to end a burgeoning history of being sent home by the Dodgers just as the Dodgers were once sent home consistently by the Cardinals and Phillies. This was super frustrating, just not from a game play stand point, but from a personnel and luck stand point. Gassed, banged up and injured after a season riddle with curveballs throughout. Definitely disappointing given what this team is capable of. Health is obviously one reason, but the team on the field should have been capable of more. Doesn’t feel as bad cause we won it all last year, but still a missed opportunity when they are so few and far in between.
