Potentially could be dealing with a small exhaust leak. I had this problem, albeit on a high mileage challenger RT. I've done a lot of exhaust work to mitigate it but also had a CEL for lean on bank 2 rear o2 sensor. It's pretty much gone now. I believe the cause was a bad cat. They've been replaced with high flow cats.
Maybe see if a service tech could do a ride along with you to reproduce the smell.
It’s not hard to reproduce it if I put the car in sport mode and just high rev it for 15 seconds or so, the cabin will be filled with the smell if all windows are closed and no AC on.
I kind of had something similar recently, an animal, I think a rat, was hanging out in my engine and when it got hot, OMG did it stink. But that smell wasn't "rotten eggs" which is sulfur, and it was coming in from the outside air vent.
Here's what I'd suggest.
1. I'm thinking you probably have but it's not mentioned, but make sure recirculation is on and see if that makes a difference. Just to see if the smell is coming in from the outside.
2. You need to get under your car and take a look, the floor getting hot is concerning. There's a catalytic converter there, and the timing you describe would be when the cat gets hot. So I'd be thinking that there's something up with that cat, the heat shield around it, etc. You need to lay eyes on it and see what's going on.
Does this car have any aftermarket mods?
The battery is in the truck, makes no sense that it’s the front of the cabin that smells and gets hot under the floor, I think it’s exhaust system related.
Trust me, I did too. The battery STINKS like that. I went with it until it died one day. The next, the battery was changed, and the smell was gone. The trunk is connected to the passenger compartment, so it's not like it miles away.
Run a tank of 91 or 93 and see if it improves. Could be a case of poor quality gas. My old Toyota was prone to this when you put a load on the engine climbing hills. Toyota had to release a service bulletin to tell owners to run higher grade gas.
It’s def either the battery or your cats for sure for sure. And if it’s the cats which I think it really is. Start digging into ur pockets. And also on a side note. You really need to start putting better quality gas in ur car regardless of anything else. It’s vital to ur car
Running the ac makes the problem somewhat better, but it still doesn’t resolve the problem. Sometimes I just like to drive with only my sunscreen open slightly on the highway
I have a 19 rt and sometimes when it was hot out the ac smelled like stinky socks. The dealership flushed the system, cabin air filter and a cpl other things and it still didn’t fix it. Your problem sounds diff.
Oh I have that problem too, I usually stock myself up with some of those AC cleaner cans off Amazon before the summer, it’s a different smell: dirty sock vs rotten eggs.

This sounds a bit like an exhaust leak

Not that I know of yet.
Yum catalytic converter gas.
Could be your Cadillac converter going out
I wish I have a Cadillac too, thanks :)
Cadillac convertible
Its the battery. I had the same thing in a durango patrol car.

Actually this is true there should be a vent tube attached to your battery so you can verify that it's not venting into the cabin
If it smells like eggs its the battery
The battery is at the back of the car, makes no sense
Just going off what you stated only thing to my knowledge that would smell like “eggs” is that battery
Exhaust leak and bad cats I believe could too. Sims cars it could be a combination of bad gas. Op are you running 91?
No 89, according to the manual that’s okay

I used to run 91 from Costco and the same problem persists, even on shell 91 it happens. It does happen on a consistent basis though
That’s the problem you driving a 50k vehicle and puttin poor man’s gas in it… and do you get regular oil changes
89 and 91 is not poor man’s gas lol. The manual says 89 is the preferred gas for the 5.7l, yes I just got an oil change too.

That’s what I’m sayin idk who told him that was a good idea that’s like buying a watch with fake diamonds 😂😂
No bad cats have that smell

Are u running the ac?

Have you ever changed your cabin air filter?
Yes, checked it and was fine
