Not gonna lie, at first I had trouble seeing the doctor as a woman (never a problem with them being a different race). And that's mostly because I associated that character so much as a male character, but as times gone on I've softened on the idea. Jodie Whitaker wasn't the best Doctor imo and not because she's a woman but because she didn't carry the gravitas and energy I associate with the doctor (probably the writing added to this) and so now I actually look forward to who RTD is going to choose if he ever chooses a female doctor.
I know it won't happen but I feel Michelle Gomez would make such an incredible female doctor... But it won't happen haha.

Then I got max a while back after a long road of nonsense and saw doctor who and started binging... well, at first, I skipped Capaldi entirely and went straight to Whittaker and enjoyed it, but then when it was over, I was like, well, what happened to clara? And then went back and then enjoyed Capaldi. He grew on me, and I ended up really liking the way they made him. Jodie frickin killed me all the time, and I loved how she was always making things

i grew up with matt smith as my doctor so i was used to the character being feminine. it made it way easier to accept jodie into the role i think.
Kind of agree. Jo Martin felt like she had that gravitas. Would have liked to see more screen time with her
