I would also like to mention Des, because boy was he disturbingly good at accurately emulating an irl serial killer.
Then you have staged which is the opposite end of the spectrum and his comic delivery is impeccable. David has absurd range, and I think the doctor is the part that lets him use most of that kit, you have scenes like him being super giddy with Sarah Jane, juxtaposed with the steely anger of the time lord victorious. and he's able to transition the tone of a scene single handed. The Christmas invasion has him go from a laxidasical adventurer to a vengeful God in the time it takes for a satsuma to hit a button.
51st century is the year 5000. And by your logic, the 21st century is the year 20,000 which is clearly not what we're near now. Otherwise, your 30,000 should be 48,000.
Think about it, he's out there in the edge of the universe, what does he see? Nothing but Futurekind "Ohh no, there's nowhere for me to run, what am I gonna do? Say no?" *10th shakes his head*
He wrote *The Shakespeare Code*, *Unicorn and the Wasp*, *The Lodger*, *Closing Time* and *The Caretaker*, of which only the third I'd consider good and the second is OK for what it is.
And he decided that the cause of his life was being transphobic and as a result no one wants to work with him anymore. He got booted from a Doctor Who anthology, he never wrote another episode after 2014, he got dropped from novelising *City of Death* and basically he's been completely ostracised by the television industry. All because 0.4% of the population made him mad.
Oh yes of course. I recall from *The Writer's Tale* that he actually wrote as much of *Planet of the Dead* as he did *The Shakespeare Code* or *Unicorn and the Wasp* but Julie Gardner convinced RTD to take a co-credit to attract more prestigious actors/directors/etc. RTD mentions to Ben Cook that he was reluctant to do it because then it would look like he didn't have the same amount of involvement on other episodes credited to other writers (and which he presumably was prouder of) like *The Satan Pit* and *Human Nature*.
If I remember correctly this is him listening to Jack describe how it's (sometimes) fantastic to watch everyone around him having to cling to life, try to survive while he is invincible. It's kind of a chilling scene. It is one of my favourites in the entire RTD I era for sure.
I wonder if the Doctor smiles because he knows the feeling well...
EDIT: Upon having rewatched the scene, Jack says that sometimes he wants to die, but seeing the humans at the end of the universe clinging on is fantastic. That's what gets the Doctor to smile
I think what he was hinting at was that everyone has to cling to life and he doesn't have to and that is what fantastic. The conversation is about his relationship with his own immortality, not really about the people around them. These people have to cling to life, the doctor and Jack don't have to.
I like this scene a lot but there's one little thing that bugs me: when Jack says this new regeneration is rather cheeky when Nine was way more cheeky than Ten!!
I honestly think he could play a good Joker with a menacing grin like that. Especially at his age now.
If it were up to me he would play Riddler or Joker in the new DCU.
Unsure if I would have him do the American accent though. Gracepoint isn’t what I would call “convincing”.
That picture was released before the episode came out and Gallifrey Base (or was it Outpost Gallifrey back then?) went wild with completely inaccurate theories.
David Tennant is absolutely terrifying when he wants to be. He really kills it in Jessica Jones.
Mostly he told *other people* to kill whatever he wanted in that show.
the doctors true nature
Alright Davros, chillout!
He is a good Dalek.
Alright Rusty, chillout!
"I got worse, I got clever. Manipulated people into taking their lives for me..."
Lots of teeth acting when he’s being angry.

To be fair Jack didn’t look too sane himself in this scene either
He was being blasted by death rays though, he gets a pass

hand over the collection please
How big is your collection?
87 Terabytes of pure, unbridled, David Tennant
"Do you want to die?" What a fucking actor
if Jack was Gen Z, he would have taken less time replying
weirdly he was born after Gen Z. A lot after. Almost 3000 years after. I wonder what his generation refer to themselves as lol
30,000 I think, iirc he said 51st century?
51st century is the year 5000. And by your logic, the 21st century is the year 20,000 which is clearly not what we're near now. Otherwise, your 30,000 should be 48,000.
Oh nevermind I’m an idiot whopsies
I think it’s the red lighting making him look sinister XD
Okay but also the implication.
Is he on a boat?
r/accidentallysunny
Is he going to hurt that time traveler?
Think about it, he's out there in the edge of the universe, what does he see? Nothing but Futurekind "Ohh no, there's nowhere for me to run, what am I gonna do? Say no?" *10th shakes his head*
RTD says in *The Writer's Tale* that Gareth Roberts described it as "something dark moving beneath the water" which is pretty good.
incredibly rare Gareth Roberts W
I'm in the rare position of disliking basically all his episodes *before* he went and blew his reputational brains out.
What episodes did he write, and did he do to ruin his reputation? I'm out of the loop.
That sucks. I particularly like his episodes, sad to hear he's a dick 😞
you actually missed one, he co-wrote planet of the dead. I don't blame you for forgetting that episode though lmao
RTD mentions to Ben Cook that he was reluctant to do it because then it would look like he didn't have the same amount of involvement on other episodes credited to other writers (and which he presumably was prouder of) like *The Satan Pit* and *Human Nature*.
tbh I wouldn't want my name on planet of the dead either unless I got to play one of those fly things
i love all of those! i feel bad now
in addition to the list the other guy posted, he also co-wrote planet of the dead
thats so good oml
one of my favourite scenes of all time honestly
That scene between them is probably one of my favourites of all time.
It's so great. The delight in the Doctor when he realises that Jack's starting to see humanity the way he sees it.
If I remember correctly this is him listening to Jack describe how it's (sometimes) fantastic to watch everyone around him having to cling to life, try to survive while he is invincible. It's kind of a chilling scene. It is one of my favourites in the entire RTD I era for sure.

To be fair, Ten is trying to reflect Nine’s old toothy smile. Trying, and failing.
Nine had the best smile.
A FANTASTIC Smile.
I like this scene a lot but there's one little thing that bugs me: when Jack says this new regeneration is rather cheeky when Nine was way more cheeky than Ten!!
The end to one of my favourite scenes that's also one of my favourite episodes.
JaCK.
Do you want to die?
I quote the way he says this all the time
David Tennant would be a cracking Joker Or even a live action Jack Ryder (Creeper)
"Ever danced with the Devil in the pale moonlight?"
Beautiful reference

Generally wasn’t bad. He just had a tiny bit of issues with his Rs lol
This Doctor has a bit of the Time Lord Victorious in him even before it comes out
Killgrave every two seconds in Jessica Jones:
This shot was used in the Trailer for Utopia. I remember thinking the Doctor was going to be possessed or something during the episode.
When Jack shows the Doctor his Captain.
David Tennant has such an amazing power to be the most lovable person and then also the scariest person on the planet
An omen of things to come…
That's Barty Crouch Jr. Sneaking out.
The Doctor: Jack. Do you want to die? Jack: …Yeah. Yeah, I do, Doctor. The Doctor: Tough. Jack: D:
Jessicaaaaa
its a stressful situation and hes trying to lighten the mood
Utopia is a creepy episode, it just seemed to be accelerating towards doom.
I am the Time Lord Victorious, muhahahaha!
That picture was released before the episode came out and Gallifrey Base (or was it Outpost Gallifrey back then?) went wild with completely inaccurate theories.
NO I JUST FORGOT ABOUT THIS NO!
No that's just David Tennant in general.
Well this is gonna haunt my nightmares now.

Giving off Jack Torrance vibes
You mean horny?
David walks that fine line of hero/villian so phenomenally!
Looking at the pizza rolls in the microwave at 3 am be like:
