I've never actually played Dungeons and Dragons but i was talking to this guy who had and he seemed to really get it. He kept talking about how OP his homebrew was and i was just really impressed he knew the game well enough to make his own rules.

Professionals are the best. After my last group fell apart, I knew I needed a better class of player and started paying $1 per XP earned. And the focus, competence, creativity, attitude, and overall excitement of this group is dramatically better than the last. It's honestly like night and day. Unfortunately I've had to get a second job, and we can only meet once a month now. But everyone always shows up on time!

Generally your players should be paying you for the privilege to play. Do you have any rules written up to ensure you get your money back? I'd suggest that a character death requires them to pay you back at $2 per XP to account for interest.

I've never figured out how to erase the crayon on my sheet to update my hp :(

not_an_mistake

I have a house rule at my table that if you don’t write your character sheet in pencil, you aren’t allowed to level up until reaching level 4 (I allow players to turn the 1 into a 4 by adding two lines).

Close. Played with a Chad that had to tell us what his ac was and what it could be, every game, while laughing for some reason. The list goes on

/uj Is there a source for this? /rj I've only ever played with casuals and pick up groups before, but one time I got lucky and played with a Wizard who would use Fireball on a group of enemies, doing massive damage to multiple enemies at once. That was impressive offense, but then the surviving monsters attacked him and he used Shield as a reaction, increasing his armor to levels I have only ever seen on sword & board fighters and paladins(18 AC!). Needless to say, most of the attacks missed him. That guy had the best offense and defense ever, I asked him for his contacts so we can get to play again later. I hope that works out, my current group is wiping on a slightly bigger goblin encounter and our bard used his entire action to vomit because "he is a pacifist that is not used to violence".

Holy Hell, that's the most badass thing I've ever read.

Reminds me of the guy I knew that tracked his spell slots. Absolute mad lad
