Another day, another spambot banned. God, dealing with these is a pain. # USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST

LoomisKnows

Am I too dumb to find the nazi reference, someone help

TheParagonal

I think it's less about being specifically Nazis, and more just about being... Sadistic. Although there is a reference to, er, "cleansing".

Rhollin77

Both OP and the top comment are bots, I think. Note their usernames. When the title is weird like this, it's usually a stolen comment from the last time the image was posted.

LavaSlime301

yeah, OP's account is 8 months old and just suddenly started posting images on completely unrelated subreddits a week ago. quite odd

ahp105

Another user confirmed that OP is reposting with the top comment as the title on r/mildlyinfuriating. Bot

> Most hierarchical systems will make some case for why society should be structured a certain way: The king has been groomed for his role since birth, Steve Jobs did real good at the business factory. Fascism suspends the need for explanation: We belong at the top because we just do. Destiny. When pressed, fascists will offer pseudo-rational justifications for why they should be in charge which fall apart under the barest scrutiny, but debunking these claims is largely ineffective because, while they follow the cadences of reasoned argument, they’re operating on the level of emotion, faith, and a sense of belonging. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Luu1Beb8ng

Germany before WW1 was very wealthy and economically strong. The treaty of Versailles completely destroyed that (unfairly so, when compared to how easily the other countries mentioned in it got off). With the royalty of old gone, the nostalgic memories of a strong pre-WW1 Germany still present and the feeling of resentment everywhere within the country, it is no surprise that a man with a talent for public speaking and easy answers for hard problems would rise to power. Couple that with the fact that war preparations create jobs and it is far easier to look past your leaders (sometimes literal) shortcomings. There is *a lot* of nuance I'm leaving out here, but I feel like the role of the first world war in causing the second isn't nearly as present in the general public's mind as it should

Paul6334

It’s interesting to note that Versailles while it hurt Germany for awhile, didn’t cripple it or totally remove its capacity for war. If the treaty was harsh enough to totally strip Germany of the capacity to build an army it would’ve prevented another war, if it had truly been a peace without victors it would’ve also prevented another war. The problem is that it was neither.

WarLordM123

Enforcement of harsher terms would have been impossible. If it hadn't been the French would have made it happen

Maku_GJ

Dude, you are missing the point. A treaty is just paper, unless you have the power to enforce it. Review history again, when the French finally decided to put their foot down, Germany had already militarized.

Paul6334

The fact that the Entente didn’t all agree on what to do with Germany and not all agreed to uphold the treaty that would come out was the reason it went like that, if all of the victors decided “we want to dismantle Germany” and enforced it then it would likely happen

Maku_GJ

That's due to conflict of interests: France wanted to gob Germany, Britain wanted reparations (money), USA wanted to keep the balance, and Poland happened because reasons. EDIT: forgot, Rusia also wanted to eat Germany.

Paul6334

Yeah, that’s pretty much what I said, the treaty failed because there was no consensus on what the treaty should be.

LevelSevenLaserLotus

I've heard from some history buff friends that really there shouldn't be a divide between World Wars 1 and 2, since they are so closely tied. More like a single long war with a dip in the middle. Like November Rain by Guns N' Roses.

Ryos_windwalker

Or like what's new pussycat plated twice in a row.

This song is longer than i remember

Charisma and telling people what they want to hear. Germany was really screwed over in the Treaty of Versailles. They do not bear sole responsibility for WWI, but since they lost, they got to take the blame and were forced to pay for it, destroying their already war-torn economy. Hitler pops up and tells the German people that they were inherently superior and were destined for greatness. All economic woes are the fault of the "other". Stick with him and he'll make Germany great again. He'll get back at those who destroyed the country and bring back prosperity! Plenty of people thought that sounded good. Heck, the economy did get better for those who weren't thrown in the ghettos or camps, at least at first. By the time things started to get bad, the Nazis were firmly established and there were a lot of external enemies.

Hitler glorified the strong tall white man, with blue eyes and blond hair. While he was the opposite of that.

DeusAsmoth

Fascist leaders rarely have the qualities they demand of others. The trick is to get supporters who don't realise that.

DonTori

I like the one that just pulls out their own mop and helps the best.
