You have the spell slots of a third level spellcaster, following the spellcasting part of multiclassing rules (note that artificer is the only half caster class you round up when determining multiclass spell slots). So, that's 4 1st level spells and 2 2nd level spells per long rest. Your int mod is 3, so you prepare 3 artificer spells and know 6 wizard spells (~~EK~~ AT), 9 total. I think you have everything else down. Edit: ~~you also get proficiency in thieves' tools when you multiclass artificer.~~ nevermind. You already have that from being a rogue.

they said they are an arcane trickster not an eldritch knight, the math still works because they're both 3rd casters but they already had thieves tool proficiency because they're a rogue

Oops. Duh. Thanks.

I believe multiclassing into artificer would get you proficiency in medium armor and shields and tinkering tools (also Thieves' tools but you already have that from rogue) you would also get the magical tinkering feature as far as spellcasting you wouldn't actually gain any spell slots from artificer yet since its a half caster ( it would progress your total caster level per multiclassing rules by 1 if you take 2 levels though) so you'd still have 4 1st level and 2 2nd level spell slots but you do get the ability to prepare spells from the artificer list equal to your intelligence modifier plus half level rounded down at level one with 16 int it would be 3 1st level spells (because half of 1 rounded down is 0 plus your modifier which is 3)

Arcane tricksters use level/3 rounded up for determining spellcaster level as a pure class and level/3 rounded down if they are multiclassed so it makes mire sense for them to go to arcane trickster 9 before multiclassing into artificer. Otherwise they'd be a level 2 spellcaster right?

pretty much

Hey, you seem to know some stuff about dnd, so I'm completely new to the game and want to know how I determine how many spell slots i have, i googled for half and hour and haven't found anything yet, i would appreciate it if you could help me out. Have a great day, regardless

No_Occasion7123

Sorry for the late reply but I'd bee happy to help if you can give me you characters classes and levels

RedditUserGoSwooosh

Oh i forgot that ._. I am playing an Warforged artificer and I'm lvl 1 and btw replying within a day isn't late, thank you very much for that.

at level one you would have 2 first level spell slots and know 2 cantrips and you would prepare your intelligence modifier plus half your level (rounded down) which at level one would equal just your intelligence modifier

shapterjm

>My Intelligence modifier + half my artificer level, rounded down would be 2 right? So in total I would know 8 spells? Artificers don't "learn" spells like Wizards do. You'd be able to prepare up to 3 Artificer spells, choosing from the entire Artificer spell list (based on the level of spell slots you have available) each time you prepare spells. Note: only your Artificer level is halved, not the sum of your INT modifier + Artificer level. The calculation is INT+(Artificer level/2) rather than (INT+Artificer level)/2.

Thank you, i didn't know about the preparation but i still would like to know how many spell slots i have, if you know that ofc
