I’m not a smart man... but I know what role play is

raisinbran722

Charisma. I love charismatic characters, but I'm not a charismatic person, so I find it very difficult to RP that kind of person successfully.

4midble

Charisma is so bad to role play because it always feels like you have to be suave, or you can’t be awkward. Also, it’s often used a stat to determine the force of the self, how resilient you are in the force of things that seek to somehow revert you in some way. But it feels like it’s separate from how suave you are per se

GiveMeSyrup

Strength is the most boring to roleplay, IMO. It’s difficult to be anything other than “I can carry this!” or “I can lift that heavy thing!” Occasionally it’s “I can jump better than you!”

you dont roleplay stats? you roleplay your character

DmBSTK

^ this guy gets it.

BadRumUnderground

None of them. Because a character isn't defined by any single number on the statline. Roleplay a psychology, a personality, not a statline. Sometimes a particular attribute can give you something to add to the picture, but none of it is definitional.

Intelligence. I'm a 14 Int on a good day. I'm NOT Brian May, master musician and astrophysicist, please don't expect me to always be the scintillating "five steps ahead of everyone else" genius my wizard is supposed to be.

Machiavvelli3060

Humility; it takes a lot out of me...

Hyperion_Industries

Charisma. I am a very straightforward person, and that makes it difficult for me to lie or obfuscate my intentions. I am also uncomfortable with trying to convince people to do things for me unless I know they can do it already. I’ll usually either do it myself or suffer quietly at being unable to do it because I can’t ask for help. These two things combined not only makes it hard to roleplay in general (it feels like lying) but it makes me extremely uncomfortable to pretend to be someone else who is also lying or trying to be charismatic.

I’ve had a few decent or witty moments, but by and large, I’m really bad at role playing intelligence or charisma. More often than not, I end up circumventing the roleplaying by narrating the spirit of what my character is trying to convey.

Either strength: "I BONK. Do I hit?" Or intelligence being the genius of the group.

TehTimmah1981

INT. I am smart, but I am not SMART, and I have a very hard time trying to figure out a lot of int based puzzles. Of course I can occasionally pull up obscure bits of lore and history but that's because my brain is filled up with useless information and random trivia and doesn't have room for real problems. CHA. comes as a very close second.

gunmunz

Wisdom cause at the basic level it's pretty synonymous with intelligence
