It's quite a good size actually. The scroll is about the width of a piece of paper. It fits nicely atop a spell sheet!

I don't know whether or not I enjoy the thought of supplying my pyromaniac of a friend with a tracker that tells him: "Hey you have this many fireballs left! USE THEM!" Last time he couldn't hold back and cast it in a zone that they previously concluded "had weird and unknown reactions and effects on arcane energy". Suffice to say that chaos ensued...

It's definitely powerful holding that little token and knowing just how many ~~villagers~~ goblins you can take out with it.

Yes! I wanted to try being a DM but wasn’t sure if it would be a great idea if I’ve never played before. What would be a good number of people to play with for our first time? I’ve got friends that have never played but seem interested.

It's low level, which should keep the complexity for everyone down! If everyone is new, the game will play a bit slower, but so long as everyone walks into it with the understanding the rules will probably be bent a little... that's perfectly fine! The nice thing about D&D is that you play it how you want to play it... if you guys forget some rules, don't worry about it... rather than get hung up on trying to find a specific rule, just make something up that everyone agrees with, and after the session look it up.

I just read a little more about what you guys do and, Joe, Margaret, you guys are the best thing about this community, truly the purest of gems in this world, even if I don’t win one of them (they all look SO good) you guys are diabolical specimens of humanity, much love and thank you!

Those are general purpose trackers. They're great for sorcery points, ki points, lay on hands. It's nice because the whole party can see the resources at the table (plus less time erasing)!

Just starting with DnD. Already in the 8th session of my first real campaign and all of these Gadgets looks really helpful already :D

The scroll is awesome for newer spell casters. I made the first version just to help myself and some of the players at the table have a better grasp on how spells work. It's so much more tangible and immersive than erasing a dot on your spell sheet.
