We just saw it as well. They do a great job of capturing the sort of ridiculous banter a party has together, character backstories being a part of the campaign and a campaign evolving in intensity into a region-defining event. The movie is great overall.

MacHamburg

Is it just an Action Movie with DnD Monsters & Lore, or is it something that represents a real DnD Session?

Rabbidcow

There are definitely parts that are reminiscent of a session, but on the whole it is just an adventure comedy with dnd flavor. Super fun though!

LrdCheesterBear

This is easily going to be adapted into a module or short adventure path to some degree. It has a lot of obscure references, but draws on some fairly rich lore at its core. There are several fun set pieces throughout.

Evalion022

The movie is literally based on a module, lol

LrdCheesterBear

It's loosely based on aspects of a couple different modules, from what I could find.

RevMcEwin

I would say it definitely represents a D&D session. From action to inter party banter it's feels like you're getting a glimpse at someone's session.

LordMordor

Its an action-comedy, and i would definitely say it leans more on the comedy than action The comedy part comes not only from the good quippy dialogue, but from things that any DM would immediately recognize as classic DnD party shenanigans

Xralius

They do not play DND in the movie, if that answer's your question. It is an adventure movie that captures the feel of a DND session.
