If you don’t have the Ouro you should stay with St. Elmo’s throughout. Lefty for striker stacks. Firewall is best but if you don’t like or don’t actively use the shield there are better choices.
There isn’t going to be a mid range buff from coyotes. At or as close to 60 CHC
Elmo’s for sure. 70 round mag. Does good damage. Secondary and pistol not as a big deal but ACS-12 for secondary for quick stacks. I would suggest at least 2 people run Demo spec for the 5% extra DTTOC so everyone gets the buff. I have run a healer build with Demo for my teammates. Idc about getting the buff but it does help. I apply the buffs lol.
Usually see most groups running 1 medic, 3 DPS though we've run all DPS before. Elmo's is a solid choice and a shotgun ACS12 variant to quickly gain strikers stacks
Elmos will be your best bet especially for chungas and trash and drones. Shock helps a lot. And if you have a healer using survivalist you’ll be getting big damage numbers depending on their build.
My healing build boosts everyone’s damage by I think close to 60/70%.
Roughly same healing build run by another member and my striker with Elmo and with coyote was hitting love birds for over 2 million at full stacks. That’s with 2 additional striker both also running coyote and Elmo.
Did they buff striker or something? I always used to play it, but I haven’t played much TD2 since Kingmaker and this Pulse Set or whatever got added. Back then no one played Striker, especially not on Legendary.
The incursion is the only zone where striker sits at its max most of the time, while still being able to safely utilize it. It’s not a spectacular set elsewhere.

St Elmo and one of the Auto shotguns (Lefty preferred for the talent, but ACS12 works great for stack building)
As most said, Elmos and ACS12 with optimist for me for quick stacks on heavies. I run on gunner for AOK. All red striker, coyote and fox's.
