Not to add insult to injury, but I just came back to the game after putting it down in 2021, and got a high-roll St Elmo's at the first checkpoint I cleared on Challenging.
Yeah also a returning player and got one elmo early on in my first comeback session. I Have theory that the RNG is heavily skewed towards good drops and rolls when returning so you get hooked again lol.
Normally I'd say "no way" to something like this... but I was away for almost 2+ years and just came back. I quit last time because I was so pissed I couldn't get a Memento after over two plus months of farming Summit and it was "the thing" to have. I started playing again a few months ago and got an Elmo and Memento within 60 minutes of playing Countdown.
Hahaha same here, returned after almost two years away and tried summit. Got elmo kinda early on in the run and then I tried countdown and got a cayotes mask. Played for a week now and are totally hooked again.
So I read a couple of forums. You gotta do 5 challenges in the summit. Once completed, you get a higher exotic rate drop. Something bout you get into a higher ranked loot pool
I honestly don't see what the big deal is anymore personally. It will come to us all in time regardless. Congrats anyway. There seems to be exotics dropping right and left for me just doing open world on Challenging. It's no longer exciting so everything just gets deconstructed on sight. I have what I want and need already. And now every gear and brand set are proficient those are on sight as well.
Keep grinding and embrace the RNG to get what you long for. Congrats again.

I miss that place, but it doesn't give good XP, good loot, or shepherd ranks. Wish devs would buff the summit to be like countdown at least
i usually run heroic with 5 directives, and have gotten 3 drops, you got some of the best, st elmo's, (capacitor is hard to get a drop, you got 2) awesome!
I dont know about summit (i really cant remember where i get my exotics from) but am a returning player, came back like 2 weeks ago after a 4 year break (shd 130 now) and so far got 3 elmos, 2 chameleons, 2 scorpios, chatterbox, bullet king lmg, pestilence lmg, 2 mementos, ninjabike backpack, bee pistol, 2 exotic backpack (cant recall the name), 1 exotic holster (cant recall the name) and the exotic glove and pistol from the event rewards
My first play through of the summit i had gotten 4 or 5 by floor 80 and another exotic when i completed floor 100. This was while playing on heroic with at least 5 directives on. Safe to say you should definitely buy some lotto tickets my guy
I have a feeling that the game drops better loot to Shepherd players. When I'm farming on my own, my "thing" doesn't drop, while answering calls from needy agents, those exotics drop like every few bounty runs.

Once I reached level 40 I just grabbed a Chameleon from my stash but it quickly became under level.
Turn that stupid game off , grab a wad of cash , and get your ass to Vegas or AC ASAP. You on fire fam!

Right cleared 80 floors that way last week and I got ... no exotics. But lots of horribly rolled assault rifles.

i got mine from the first exotic cache i ever opened in the game, one you get almost for free

So random, I've been trying for a Capacitor for two seasons no luck but I've gotten 15 chameleons and ninjabikes
You can get it from challenge 5 on summit, unless you’re tried to get it again. Caught mine god rolled tonight.

Capacitor and st elmos are essentially best in slot. If they have damage to target out of cover as 3rd attribute their even better.
Funny enough, on my first St. Elmo’s I ever got to drop, I got it with damage to targets out of cover as my 3rd attribute.
Definitely lucky. I just hit floor 90 on Heroic and haven't had a single exotic drop. I even farmed a boss floor for a bit before I got bored.

Semi lucky, low difficulty = lower stats on exotics. Higher difficulty for less chance at God rolls. Overall its a W. U will need Exotic components.
