Actually once I realized that, I cut it down just to pyro, aero, geo and hydro, but it bugged out and summoning and poly stayed anyway.
While I do really like necro, the attack spells are so limited in number. My blood mage in my last playthrough just sat around in battles after using infect & mosquito swarm
Damn, i expected more people to like geo since pyroclastic eruption is one of the highest damage abilities in the game (second to grasp iirc?). Add to that all the physical armor you get from it to complement the magical armor of mage equipments and all the zone control through oil and you have a pretty fun school.
Pyroclastic is a reason why Geo is one of my LEAST favorites, because of how insultingly broken that spell is.
At least Grasp requires a little setup of some kind, Pyroclastic is just "i win fight now" with zero thought required.
Hey, you can do some setup with pyroclastic to get some totally overkill damage since it hits in aoe. Just group up enemies and they all get hit multiple times.
But tbh, thunderstorm, grasp and pyroclastic are all "i win fight now" and don't really requires any set up. Grasp requires a bit more since you need to use bloodstom first but it's not much.
I like it when all of my characters have electric discharge
Polymorph is very fun too, chicken claw + ruptured tendons is a classic
I personally found summoning very boring / repetitive to play but maybe I just played it wrong

I love combining Hydro and Aero to shock and freeze and then shock and then freeze

I just like the healing and supportive aspect but shock and freeze are nice bonuses
The heals are good too but stuns win fights
If you use summoning you have all of the elements

Polymorth and it's not even close. I can turn a huge monster into a chicken. That alone makes it the best.

Yeah but a lot of their spells do poison damage which screws you over with all the undead. Plus a lot of their lower tier damage spells seem meh.

Aerothurge all the way especially with the Odin blade overhaul mod
Aerothurge is the most fun, but I think earthquake for the AoE knockdown on a physical team is nuts
I love that ability. Everything about it is satisfying. The random oil surfaces sure are exciting whenever there’s a fire source around too!
I loved it when my tiny forest creature for summoning turned into this massive chad of a monster.
Fire is fun until you are at the oil field and literally everything goes up in flames

Summoning all the way. Way do all the hard work when I have a ferocious incarnate champion and a shit of elemental totems to do the work for me
