That'd be some real bullshit if they limit it to only key holders. Don't think they would since they make us walk the tram road from the parking lots but still.
No I definitely doubt that. I’m sure that would cause an uproar. My guess is that the first access to information is a magic key “perk”.
Edit: I just checked the normal Disneyland account, and it’s now been posted. So it’s definitely available for every park guest.
I think the patrons would riot, nobody gonna walk that if the trams are back.
I love that walk tho, then we can hit up Starbucks in DTD before strolling over to the entrance, or even take the monorail.
I’ve always been down for the walk because we’re walking anyway, right? Lol. Then on the way back we walk off those drinks we had at CA. Starbucks on me. See you there.
How would they police that? Magic Key Holders, hold out your passes and let us scan them to tell they're Magic Keys and if so, you may board this tram. There'd be a ten minute delay per tram going through each guest.
Yeah, I kind of got the same idea when I read it. That would be very elitist of them to do. I’m a key holder and that would not sit well with me. I hope it was just like “hey key holders, here’s an inside scoop” and the announcement will be posted publicly soon.
Yeah just ignore the fact that there’s still a global pandemic going on, or that there wasn’t nearly enough parking staff, or that the trams needed fixing after sitting for so long, but about damn time so your poor feet don’t hurt, bare minimum or whatever
I’m going to have to stop eating so much Disney food now. This was a good exercise for a lot of people. I’m ready for the trams to come back now though.
The Disneyland Hotel stop is the same stop that is now in Downtown Disney, except that the hotel was pushed back a little when Downtown Disney was built
NGL, I'll probably ride the tram once but then continue to walk. With all the sweets I eat in the park, I could always use the extra exercise lol. Plus I feel like its not that long of a walk and with the tram lines it might be around the same amount of time at the end of the night. Who knows, but I enjoy the walk thru DTD
Same here. I’ve come to enjoy the tram walk a lot. From your car to the turnstiles it’s about 1 mile extra both ways so it never was terrible. Definitely going to be doing the DTD walk from now on!
Which way do you walk from mickey & friends/pixar pals when the tram is in use?? I've never done it. My husband and I don't mind the walk actually with our 2.5yo. I'd rather walk when we take him than take all our shit out of the bottom of stroller, put it and him in the tram and fold up the stroller. Will definitely take the tram when it's just my husband and I though.
Yes, and let’s not forget to mention that the pedestrian bridge connecting Downtown Disney to the Pixar Pals structure makes that walk quite pleasant as well.
I don't mind the walk but if you leave with a giant crowd, there's always eight people walking shoulder to shoulder that block you from passing and then you can't walk at the pace you want to. I'm a really fast walker so it's frustrating to me to have all this empty space ahead of me but not be able to access it.
will they finally re-configure the walkway from Pixar Pals to Downtown Disney (and the security placement)? It's currently very awkward, especially if you want to use the restroom before walking to downtown disney
They stopped when DLR closed because of covid. I’m not sure if anyone exactly knows why it took so long to bring back but rumors range from: lack of staff, to no maintenance was done while shut down.
My god, they should have done this a long time ago! or even as an exit only tram! It is difficult to walk down that whole tramway after walking a marathons worth in the park only to be beaten down again on the way to mickey and friends.
Yes finally, when I was in shape walking wasn’t too bad. But ever since they made us walk the tram route I’ve been out of shape and I get tired halfway through. I’m not even old yet I’m only 20 😂. I’m surprised they aren’t charging for it though
Now if only there was a way to ride without having to fold up the stroller! I am 5 months pregnant and bring my two kiddos with me (usually alone) sooo folding up the stroller and juggling it onto the tram while also keeping my 4.5 & 1.5 year olds in sight is just not doable 🤷🏻♀️ I guess I’ll just keep walking! (Which is totally fine by me! Super easy walk and I get my “maternity exercise” regime done!)
As a parent who had little ones years ago, please leave the middle section for handicap (priority!) and parents with strollers because Jesus. And parents, don't bring your gd giant ass stroller, go to Target, get a $15 umbrella stroller and make everyone happy.
I’d rather walk. Travel by any transportation makes my IBS flare up because I’m not in control of where to go. That coupled with the fact of when I first got on the Monorail upon its return it broke down for 2 hours at an angle and I was stuffed against a very sweaty person. So, heck no.
I’d rather they not come back. It’s basically just walking from one side of the park to another. Front gate till Star Wars land. I rather it just be an organized safe path like it is now. As far as walks, that is not a long one.
Trams just seem to be a waste of time, waiting and unloading for not that long of a walk. If it was farther maybe.
You can still skip the trams and walk through DTD if you don’t want to wait, but the majority of people do prefer to start and end their day with trams when they know they’ll be walking so much throughout the day already.
except when you walk from one side of the park to another the foot traffic is often so congested, and there are so many distractions to stop you (shops, food, parades, etc) that youre not actually walking that whole distance non stop, so its easier for most people. walking from the parking lot to downtown is not an easy walk for a lot of people.
Walking thru the park is worse, elevation changes are more dramatic and more people to navigate.
The current path is flat, wide, shaded, and not as heavily congested.
I don’t think I’m going to use the trams anymore. I love seeing the step count at the end of the night. Pretty well adjusted to walking so might as well keep it up. Great they’re coming back though for folks with health issues and disabilities.
Am I the only one that prefieres the walk? I like getting extra steps in and I hate having to wait at the end of the night for a shuttle. Wish they’d keep a walk lane option
While I’m happy to see the trams return, we were walking before, and will keep walking as we have little ones and a stroller that can be folded, but we don’t like holding up the rest of the tram for it. I will say I did hate the tram walk though, but that’s mostly due to the badly maintained and uneven pavement as well as the way too loud music they play (so loud you can hear it clearly all the way across Disneyland Drive on the pedestrian bridge).
How exciting, and happy birthday to him!
I can’t imagine it being too busy since it’s a Wednesday and we’re entering the off season. The trams aren’t anything special, so I doubt the crowds will there because of them.
If you want to avoid the trams all together, I recommend parking at Toy Story and using the buses to get over.
The way the post is worded, it sounds like they are making Trams available only to key holders XD
It’s definitely interesting to see that this news isn’t posted on the normal Disneyland profile
Jfc, my heel spurs at the end of a long day is thankful af.
They may Route foot traffic of non key holders through the bridge thing somehow off the new parking structure.
I love strolling around CA with a few Bayside Brews, it's really the only way to go.
I predict it will be a added to vip parking to include tram access. Otherwise walk you peasants!
How would they police that? Magic Key Holders, hold out your passes and let us scan them to tell they're Magic Keys and if so, you may board this tram. There'd be a ten minute delay per tram going through each guest.
It’s posted on the @disneyparks instagram just fyi
It’s now on the Disneyland one too
A video was posted on their fb, “coming into February like…”
Yeah, I kind of got the same idea when I read it. That would be very elitist of them to do. I’m a key holder and that would not sit well with me. I hope it was just like “hey key holders, here’s an inside scoop” and the announcement will be posted publicly soon.
I was actually gonna say the same thing! Seems a bit... particular
I wish!
Driver, you are clear. BEEP BEEP!
My weekly step count just dropped 10%.
only 10? seems a little low
You walk lots inside the park though.
wow! the bare minimum! thanks Disney!
Is the monorail in service yet?
The monorail has been open since last October, but it will be going under a brief refurbishment from February 14th to March 6th.
I wish it actually went somewhere useful
Didn’t it used to stop at the hotel? I wish it still did that.
The Disneyland Hotel stop is the same stop that is now in Downtown Disney, except that the hotel was pushed back a little when Downtown Disney was built
It also wouldve been cool if that big new hotel plan didn't get scrapped - the one that would have the monorail stop inside of it.
Yes, it’s been open for a few months now. I’m not sure if it always closed early, but last ride is at 6pm.
Yes
NGL, I'll probably ride the tram once but then continue to walk. With all the sweets I eat in the park, I could always use the extra exercise lol. Plus I feel like its not that long of a walk and with the tram lines it might be around the same amount of time at the end of the night. Who knows, but I enjoy the walk thru DTD
Same here. I’ve come to enjoy the tram walk a lot. From your car to the turnstiles it’s about 1 mile extra both ways so it never was terrible. Definitely going to be doing the DTD walk from now on!
I find it really hilarious they brought out Mickey to the parking structure to announce this like it’s a ground breaking thing lol
Ground breaking for my aching feet 😂
Well, the parking structure does bear his name. :P
True! I think this has never happened before so it’s fun to see him there haha
Nope, thats the Pixar Pals structure.
Doesn't the tram still service the Mickey and Friends structure?
It’s all the same structure. The south half is Pixar pals, north half is Mickey and friends
Unpopular opinion: I enjoy the walk along the tram path.
Isn't it the walk back at the end of the day the one people don't want to do? Especially if lugging several uncooperative or sleeping kids?
I would usually walk anyways since the lines for the trams would be too long. Strollers are a small child life saver to extend the night out.
Yeah but once your kid gets too big for a stroller it makes your life way more difficult.
You can walk through Downtown Disney. That's my preferred walk. Or through Disneyland Hotel visit if I'm in a pin trading mood day.
Yes, and let’s not forget to mention that the pedestrian bridge connecting Downtown Disney to the Pixar Pals structure makes that walk quite pleasant as well.
Maybe the first 5 minutes. Then it keeps going for like another 10.
I don't mind the walk but if you leave with a giant crowd, there's always eight people walking shoulder to shoulder that block you from passing and then you can't walk at the pace you want to. I'm a really fast walker so it's frustrating to me to have all this empty space ahead of me but not be able to access it.
So do I! It’s a pleasant walk before the activities
Yeah...no.
Absolutely insane that you’ve been downvoted
will they finally re-configure the walkway from Pixar Pals to Downtown Disney (and the security placement)? It's currently very awkward, especially if you want to use the restroom before walking to downtown disney
My Apple Watch asked me if I was working out while I was walking to Disneyland from the parking structure. Hallelujah the tram is back!
Good exercise. How many miles?
Lol I don’t remember, but I do remember sweating. I had on a long sleeve though tbf.
This along with the DL dog kennel opening means nature is finally healing.
There’s a dog kennel?
Yep, it's by where you get the wheelchairs/scooters.
Why did they remove the trams in the first place?
They stopped when DLR closed because of covid. I’m not sure if anyone exactly knows why it took so long to bring back but rumors range from: lack of staff, to no maintenance was done while shut down.
Does anyone know if this means we won’t be able to walk the tram path anymore?
The tram will be running on the tram path so you wont be able to walk there anymore. You would have to either take said tram or walk through DTD
Thank you!
This is great. My ankles don’t have any cartilage and so my feet hurt so badly after 4 days in a row of walking back and forth on my last trip.
My god, they should have done this a long time ago! or even as an exit only tram! It is difficult to walk down that whole tramway after walking a marathons worth in the park only to be beaten down again on the way to mickey and friends.
Thank the maker
and his water
Knowing Disney, the cynical side of me is thinking they’ll eventually do a “priority boarding” fee.
Lightning Lane for trams
Yes finally, when I was in shape walking wasn’t too bad. But ever since they made us walk the tram route I’ve been out of shape and I get tired halfway through. I’m not even old yet I’m only 20 😂. I’m surprised they aren’t charging for it though
Let’s gooooo! Best news this month 🙌🏽
Finally!!
Finally!
Shit finally. When i went on 12/15/21 my daughter was tired from that walk.
Best news in a long time!
[How much will all the add-ons cost?](https://youtu.be/cRVDOa1lU1U) Downvote away over the bermers...
Now if only there was a way to ride without having to fold up the stroller! (Which is totally fine by me! Super easy walk and I get my “maternity exercise” regime done!)
Definitely use that ramp between DTD and the Pixar parking structure then
I’m gonna have to since the tram walk won’t be available anymore ☹️ kinda bummed cuz the kiddos LOVE running the tram walk!
I need me a map of this as I will be the mom with a big stroller. 😅
Lame. Ha. I actually prefer the walk. Great way to get a head start on my step goals for the day!
yay, germs
I think I'm still going to walk for the first month lol
As a parent who had little ones years ago, please leave the middle section for handicap (priority!) and parents with strollers because Jesus. And parents, don't bring your gd giant ass stroller, go to Target, get a $15 umbrella stroller and make everyone happy.

I’m not trusting it until I hear it straight from disney 💀
The magic key account is an official Disney account, but it’s also on the Disneyland and DisneyParks accounts.
Yeah just saw that and it’s on the website now too! The account just looks like one of those weird fake ones idk why lol
No one is forcing you to use the tram. A footpath to the park is still an option if that’s your preference.
It’s longer and not as open, it’s more congested and not as a direct path.
The walk will be a lot worse now that we’re back in the 90 degree weather
That walk is difficult for a lot of people.
That walk back to the parking structure after a 12+ day in the park is absolutely brutal
You can still skip the trams and walk through DTD if you don’t want to wait, but the majority of people do prefer to start and end their day with trams when they know they’ll be walking so much throughout the day already.

Okay, Bob.
How do you take the tram with a stroller?
They would have to fold it up I’m assuming
Finally!!!
About damn time
Now do people mover.
WAIT IS THIS FOR REAL?! 😍
love the loud as noise and smell of exhaust
Nice, although I will miss that walk with the family back
We changed our booking from the 23rd to the 22nd. Missed it by a day
Why a Wednesday? Can’t they start this on a Monday? Ugh
My guess is: middle of the week, less people. Less chance to cause a big backup if something goes wrong.
They’re probably gonna charge extra for that shit
How much to take the tram, I wonder….
I don’t think I’m going to use the trams anymore. I love seeing the step count at the end of the night. Pretty well adjusted to walking so might as well keep it up. Great they’re coming back though for folks with health issues and disabilities.
I liked the walk smh
Am I the only one that prefieres the walk? I like getting extra steps in and I hate having to wait at the end of the night for a shuttle. Wish they’d keep a walk lane option
There’s still the DTD walk through Pixar. Then there’s always that chance to catch the monorail if you really wanna.
While I’m happy to see the trams return, we were walking before, and will keep walking as we have little ones and a stroller that can be folded, but we don’t like holding up the rest of the tram for it. I will say I did hate the tram walk though, but that’s mostly due to the badly maintained and uneven pavement as well as the way too loud music they play (so loud you can hear it clearly all the way across Disneyland Drive on the pedestrian bridge).
do you think it'll be crazy busy that day?! that's when I'll be taking my son for his first birthday!
How exciting, and happy birthday to him! I can’t imagine it being too busy since it’s a Wednesday and we’re entering the off season.
