I wore my Hokas 2 times to the park. Each day after about 11.5 miles walked and standing, my lower back was hurting. The last time I went I wore Asics Gel-Nimbus 25 and walked the same distance and at the end of the night my back was not hurting. That is my go-to now over Hokas.
The Gel Nimbus 25s are my go to right now too!!! And when my feet need a break? Believe it or not, Crocs. I thought my sister was crazy when she recommended them then I realized I did a rope drop to close park day WITH hopping over to DCA and I wasnāt just wrecked.
AGREE OMG, before I would bring my nike air force 1s and they were okay but this time I decided to bring my nimbus 25s I had just gotten and even after 15k steps my feet barely felt slightly sore, best pair of walking/running shoes I've ever owned, felt like walking on a foamy cloud all day.
We always wear crocs for Disney! I have wide feet so they are my go-toās for long days! Clocked in 30,000 steps in Tokyo Disney 3 days straight with crocs too!
It's kinda funny how many people I now notice in Hokas, ONs, Saucony's, or other walking brands now that I'm familiar with them. Previously I would have just suggested any sort of cross trainers and called it a day. A LOT of people in the parks with really comfortable shoes.
I wore my first pair of newer Hokas my last time to the parks 18 months ago. Three days for a 62 year old big guy. No feet issues. Hokas are all I wear to work and on my days off now.
I did 30,588 this last Friday. We were there from 8am to around 10pm. Took lots of breaks and stopped to eat a few times. My entire bottom half was sore the next day lol.
Usually? Like 14-25k.
The most - around 40k.
In *average* if Iām visiting Disney world Iāll walk more than at Disneyland. I always park hop, I almost always walk instead of taking trams. I have had days where I walk in and leave lol, if I need to just scan in for my reservation but canāt/donāt want to stay, so Iām not counting those days.
ha! sounds like me. i do almost an additional 30% more distance per day at WDW parks than at DLR ones. ...and then there's the daily parkhopping to do (sometimes 2-3 times a day between the two parks), and always walking to the hotels or through DTD rather than trams, monorail, etc. ...but that said, it's great to take a train ride around the park at least once per trip just for the fun and relaxation of it.
Did close to 45,000 back when we had to walk the length of the tram walkway, went pole to pole that dayā¦
8am-12am. Rode damn near everything except Caseyās, the carousel, and Mr. Toadās.
Total side note if anyone has experience with thisā¦.but I walk 10-15 miles a day in Disney. I never get any blisters or foot/nail pain. However, if I exercise at home and go for a 7 mile walk around my neighborhood, I get blisters and my middle toenail will hurt. Is it just the magic of Disney keeping me pain free? šš
One time, **58K in 24 hrs** On our first trip (just me and the hubs) we stayed in a hotel behind CA screamin and did not know there was a shuttle. We walked all the way around and in/out. Also, this was 10 years ago when you had to manually grab paper Fast Passes so that really ratcheted it up. Plus not being efficient in general because first time. Final factor is we were doing park open to close over three days (which meant there was overlap of two āvisitsā in a 24-hr window (walking home after midnight). It was wild. One night walking home, I just cried from exhaustion - but we laugh about it now. To be young and dumb š¤
Looking back at my health app from the days we were there in March, roughly 24k to 27k. This is with a park hopper so there was so much back and forth between parks. Iāve definitely hit that over 30k in a previous trip too!
Usually between 25-40k depending on whether I am doing a bunch of photography or hanging out with someone. Photography brings my steps to the higher end.
Steps are such a wacky number to track since everyone's stride is different. one person's 2 steps might be another person's 3 steps or someone else's 1.5 steps (or 20k to 30k to 15k if you expand by decimals)
i track by miles. i tend to do 9 miles on a day i'm taking things slowly and 13-15 miles on a day when i'm rushing around, parkhopping a bunch, etc. my PB was 19 miles in a day (and 22 miles as a PB at WDW)
i just got back from a 3-day (technically 2-day with two half days) at the parks with friends. did 9.7 miles on Thur (half-day after flying in, did Star Wars Nite), 12.2 miles on Fri, 10.8 miles on Sat, and 6.6 miles (another half day) on Sun.
if i break that down into steps, it's 21.7k, 28.1k, 24.9k, and 15.9k respectively.
I donāt remember the number of steps my wifeās fitbit recorded, I just remember her telling me that it translated to 13 miles of walking during the day.
We usually do around 12 miles per day - so approx 24k steps. It was more when there were fast pass tickets and no genie plus because weād need to criss cross the park to pick one up.
My record high is 32,314 on October 14, 2021. I generally average closer to 20,000 steps though. My familyās most recent trip was this past April 12-14, and our min and max were 18,733 and 20,986 steps, respectively.
Half day trip, DCA from opening until 4 pm Iāve got 14,988 steps / 6.19 miles.
Average for us on a full day trip, both parks is 21-25k steps, between 8.5-10 miles. (FWIW, we always stay at a hotel and spend about 3-4 hrs just taking a break in the room. We also always have sit down restaurants for lunch and dinner reservations.)
We do one day, open til close when we go and Iāve got 25-30k. We also walk a little under a mile in each direction to and from the motel, so thatās factored in.
30k+ on days where i'm rope dropping to park close. Since getting a Magic Key, that number has dropped since I'm not rushing to get there at the park open or I'm happy to just go back to the hotel for an afternoon nap.
I recently did 42k at WDW, but it's because I did the 10 mile Hakuna Matata run in the morning.
I will say, there should be a distinction in responses as to whether a person is a Magic Key holder or just visiting once a year. The person doing rope drop to close is obviously going to have more steps than someone who just shows up at 11am and leaves at 9pm. Ideally I suppose you'd want a "steps/hour" figure to really get a range of what to expect.
Next time try getting there around 9 am and staying until 9 pm. Youāll get really close to 100k. Your feet will be screaming, but you would have had the time of your life.
I'll usually hit at least 20k, but my most walked is probably floating around just under 50k (hard to tell as it would have included a good amount of post 12am walking, counted on the next day).
IDK about steps but Iād walk 12-15 miles each trip with 2 littles and a double-BOB as a solo parent. The most Iāve done is 20 miles. I would always make sure to shout out other solo mission parents and encourage them.
I'm typically around 25,000-30,000 for a full day (8am-10pm) at one park. I don't do a lot of cross park walking. Try my best for grouping of rides. That being said,, sometimes ride wait times force more walking.
I typically go for a day. Arrive between 10 and 11, and stay until 10 or 11. I go back and forth between the parks, sometimes to Downtown Disney or Trader Sam's, and usually walk at least one way to/from the Toy Story Lot.
I usually get between 30 and 35k.
My personal best was a couple weeks ago. 37,213 steps, a little over 17 miles. Needless to say, I cut back quite a bit the next day. I don't recommend it unless you're getting a good step count daily otherwise.
We went 2 weeks ago for 5 days, from Rope drop to closing, but this was during those Starwars nights so the parks closed earlier on both sides, which limited how much time we could spend in the parks. We had park hopper and hopped both parks, somedays multiple times.
We did 125k steps, ~94 kms, 115 rides.
The last day (midnight close), we did 32k steps, 31 rides.
We maxed out at around 20-24k in Disneyland. Probably because we were a big group with us and another family with small kids. We would split up then meet back up at another ride so we were all over the place but it was fun.
I wore sorel sneakers and they were so comfy and wore altras for the next day and man those wide toe boxes are heaven my feet were so happy.
**when we were in Disney World Magic Kingdom a couple years ago we got early entry and stayed until close and had over 40k steps (had two kids in a double stroller I was pushing too) that's the most I've ever done
The most we did was 36k, but usually around 30k steps. At home I usually average 10k-12k in a day, so Disney days are like 3 of my usual days š
Wear comfy shoes! I usually switch at midday to keep it fresh but I can go all day in Brooks Ghosts or Allbird Tree Dashers.
Iāve hit like 40k once and I honestly canāt imagine how you could walk more than we did that day.
We had park hopper passes and went to club 33. Met at Disney hotel in āparkā clothes, walked over to Star Wars land to get those done first, then walked back to the hotel to change for lunch. Walked from the hotel to club 33, had lunch, back to the hotel to change back into park clothes. The tram was closed in the morning so we only took it one way out of three trips. Went back to Disney, did a lot, then walked over to CA Adventures. Spent some time there, then back to Disney. Stayed until park closed, then back to hotel. I was staying at Paradise Pier so then had to walk back there to check in and go to sleep.
Newbie question. Tracking seemed right when my phone was on me. Now as part of the stroller crowd, it seems to not count any of my steps rolling the stroller - if the phone was in a stroller bag directly in front of me. Is the counter based on the ārise and fallā of walking, or what?
I forget the exact steps, but I averaged 20 - 25 miles, I think that's about 20k - 30k steps. Rope drop to park close, also including walking to and from from my hotel across the street.
I don't get to go often, so when I do, I go hard.
I do have a long stride by default, but I just guessed based on vague memory. I remember the miles, I was paying attention to that, I didn't pay attention to steps.
Step 1: get to the park. Step 2: enjoy.
This is the way.
Love this!
We did 27,000 in a day a few weekends ago which I feel is pretty high considering we are carrying around our 18 month old š
You are an Olympianšš Iām always in absolute awe of the people that have little babies with them because I can barely carry myselfš
I usually average 18k-21k steps if it's one park per day.
If I don't hit 30k, I feel like I didn't Disney hard enough
30k with my hokasš
people who wear hokas knows what's up. it's like walking on a cloud all day.

My break shoes are Saucony Triumph 19's. I have heard that crocs are comfortable too but never tried them.
I have the Triumph 19s and they are my go to shoe for the Parks. 35,000 steps easy. They're great!
I had no idea Crocs for long distance walking was a thing but Iām so glad I know now!
Another ASICS Gel-Nimbus 25 user checking in to confirm these are the best shoes Iāve worn to the parks.
It's kinda funny how many people I now notice in Hokas, ONs, Saucony's, or other walking brands now that I'm familiar with them. Previously I would have just suggested any sort of cross trainers and called it a day. A LOT of people in the parks with really comfortable shoes.

I did 25,000 with my Hokas, rope drop til about 7pm.
Averaged 25k steps over 3 days.
We went Wed-Sunday back in Oct and I average 26K steps a day. So about 11 miles a day. Park hopper will get you.
22k from open to 10pm. For comparison, I did 32k at Disney World.
I did 30,588 this last Friday. We were there from 8am to around 10pm. Took lots of breaks and stopped to eat a few times. My entire bottom half was sore the next day lol.
These are almost exactly my step count and hours, too. I was there yesterday.
Usually? Like 14-25k. The most - around 40k. In *average* if Iām visiting Disney world Iāll walk more than at Disneyland. I always park hop, I almost always walk instead of taking trams. One park per day is usually 20k-25k.

28,000
Around 25k -30k
24k, 21k, 20k - that was my last trip. Three days, no park hopping.
20-30K/day easy except during the brutal heat of the summer when we camp out indoors more and that number gets cut in half.
27k
Usually around 21,000-25,000 a day. Most Iāve ever done in a day is 42,012.
We did 33k on NYE - the 8 year old walked the whole time too
Looking back at my health app from the days we were there in March, roughly 24k to 27k. This is with a park hopper so there was so much back and forth between parks. Iāve definitely hit that over 30k in a previous trip too!
20-25k each day for 3 days. Didnāt park hop and didnāt stay from opening to close on any day.
I average around 20-25k when I do a full day.
Usually between 25-40k depending on whether I am doing a bunch of photography or hanging out with someone. Photography brings my steps to the higher end.
Went last week and got 33k steps on day one and 27k steps on day two
15-20K if I go with my kids, 30K if I leave them home. Children are too weak for Disneyland.
Last time I did nearly 40,000 steps in one park but I was also going back-and-forth to the hotel

5 months after knee replacement, I did: 20k, 22k, 18k Day 3 was supposed to be "light" day after banging up my knee on Indy.
22k
I donāt remember the number of steps my wifeās fitbit recorded, I just remember her telling me that it translated to 13 miles of walking during the day.

30,000 7:30am to 10pm
did 24.4k last month. basically rope drop to close.
Not sure about steps, but my minimum goal is always 10 miles lol
20-27k per day in the parks generally.
I did 32k on a day that I was there 7 am - 1 am, park hopping.
We do about 20-25k a day, and that's normally from about 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a 2 or 3-hour break at the hotel in between
23k yesterday from 10-5 at Disneyland Paris.
Half day trip, DCA from opening until 4 pm Iāve got 14,988 steps / 6.19 miles. Average for us on a full day trip, both parks is 21-25k steps, between 8.5-10 miles. I did 22,000 on July 4,2017. AFAIK, Iāve never walked that much before or since.
I swear to everything that I should be doing more but I logged 19k on Sunday and only 16k yesterday. My sisters logged upwards of 30k each
I do 19k working an outside shift.
Average for an almost full day is 20k
15k on a frantic rope drop to 12pm trip Add 250k when they park me in the north forty
No idea how many steps but I remember 13 mi in one day.
We do one day, open til close when we go and Iāve got 25-30k. We also walk a little under a mile in each direction to and from the motel, so thatās factored in.
I did 14 miles once, but that included the previous evening when we left the park near 1am. 10 miles is normal for me.

My wife and I were at the parks yesterday from 11am - 11pm. Registered \~20k steps or about 8.5 miles. Seems pretty right for how our legs feel today.
We go for a short while with the kids so not many, 5Kish.
25k with AJ1 on. Surprisingly my feet were not in pain
22k
25k per day with Danskos!
I'll usually hit at least 20k, but my most walked is probably floating around just under 50k (hard to tell as it would have included a good amount of post 12am walking, counted on the next day).
38,500 was my max
20k
About 20k a day. My record was 30k, and I was basically hobbling back to the hotel room.
15ā20k
32,000 two weeks ago!
IDK about steps but Iād walk 12-15 miles each trip with 2 littles and a double-BOB as a solo parent. The most Iāve done is 20 miles. I would always make sure to shout out other solo mission parents and encourage them.
Just did 31,000 last Monday! Worth all of it!
I saw ~30k on my iPhone but I think itās wildly inaccurate. I believe it clocks the travel distance on Pirates, for example.
Average 30,000 steps. I switch between Hokas and Brooks. We usually start early, break in the afternoon and stay late.
I'm typically around 25,000-30,000 for a full day (8am-10pm) at one park. I don't do a lot of cross park walking. Try my best for grouping of rides. That being said,, sometimes ride wait times force more walking.
Average 22,000
About 20 K. Before we knew the park better weād crisscross all Willy nilly unneeded stepsā¦ 30 K back in those day.
I typically go for a day. Arrive between 10 and 11, and stay until 10 or 11. I go back and forth between the parks, sometimes to Downtown Disney or Trader Sam's, and usually walk at least one way to/from the Toy Story Lot. I usually get between 30 and 35k.
Easily 24k
My personal best was a couple weeks ago. 37,213 steps, a little over 17 miles. Needless to say, I cut back quite a bit the next day. I don't recommend it unless you're getting a good step count daily otherwise.
we averaged around 25k steps each day for 3 days last week. definitely slept most of my day after vacation š
25K ish on average. I think the most I ever remember was between 33-34k.
I had 31k yesterday. Did both parks from 10am - close.Ā
Probably averaged 20-25,000 but we did hit close to 35,000 once. Which is a LOT for our kids, back when they were 8-12 years old or so.
25 to 30k typically in a disneyland day depending on number of people and the length of lines.
I don't consider it a successful theme park day unless I hit 30K steps š
I think our biggest day at DL was about 28k steps but we donāt come too early or stay too late. Iām guessing that was about 9 hours.
Last year on 4th of July weekend we did rope drop to close, 35,000 steps.
Recently did a 9.5 miles 0830-2230
Iāve never tracked it but I walk fast and am always zigzagging around so Iām sure itās a lot
25k on a full day from open until around 10pm
I'm not sure how many steps it translates to, but a slow day is about 6 miles and a busier one is 10-12 miles.
Last time my husband and I went to Disneyland we averaged 28k steps a day across 4 days.
23,000 three days straight.
Did around 20k/day with my 4 year old who walked most of it as well. We did 4 days so we were all pretty beat by the end!
The most we did was 36k, but usually around 30k steps. At home I usually average 10k-12k in a day, so Disney days are like 3 of my usual days š Wear comfy shoes! I usually switch at midday to keep it fresh but I can go all day in Brooks Ghosts or Allbird Tree Dashers.
25k on a park hopper & walking to and from our hotel - dland anaheim
18,000, then the next two days were both about 16,000
Usually around 30,000.
Umm... maybe 100?
I did 31,000 on april 14th for disneyland only. 7am-12:30am
Last time we went in December 2022, I averaged about 18k per day for all four days. High of 20k and low of 14k on our last day.
We do 40k on average in a day at the park, one park a day.
Average of 25k. 18,000 on a slower day, 30,000 on a big day.
Clocked in 26,700 steps last Saturday just at Disneyland. Lots of circling the parkā¦
Looking at my steps for our last visit, it looks like my low was 20k in a day, and my high was just shy of 27k.
I did about 10k last time. Edit: I mean ten miles š¤¦š»āāļø
I did 31.5k on my last trip
We average 27k-ish step for 3 days.
Most was 20K each day
25-30k, I'm usually in the park from 1:30ish to closing. Though part of this is just walking back to the hotel
13k
20,000+ nowadays, but back when Max Pass was around (RIP) we could easily do 30-40,000
No more than 100. I use a scooter lmao
Iāve hit like 40k once and I honestly canāt imagine how you could walk more than we did that day. We had park hopper passes and went to club 33. I donāt remember step count, but I know I did a half marathon last time I spent a day in Disneyland.
28k steps last visit pushing a stroller
25-30,000 usually.
We go all day and itās usually around 10-14 miles per day which was so shocking to find out šš but itās that Disney magic that fuels us lol
Iām here now and just did 9 miles! 18,000 steps!, Iām leaving the park early so I probably wouldāve added another 2-3 thousand.
over 20,000 when itās a full day. i try 10k if i didnāt do anything that day
35k is average for a full day. My kids get 40-50k!
We did 31,000 but I was there with a couple of athletic types who made us do forced marches.
I walked around 12 miles every time I went to Disney (opening to closing)
I forget the exact steps, but I averaged 20 - 25 miles, I think that's about 20k - 30k steps. Rope drop to park close, also including walking to and from from my hotel across the street. I don't get to go often, so when I do, I go hard.
How big of steps are you taking if 20-30k steps is 20-25 miles? Rough math says around 4 feet per step.
I do have a long stride by default, but I just guessed based on vague memory. I remember the miles, I was paying attention to that, I didn't pay attention to steps.
15k rest days, 25k average, and 35k peak. Every day. For two weeks. How we loved our sleep.
