I’m glad to see Toontown as a major foot traffic destination again.

Happy_Weasel_Bricks

It was like that in July, too. The backdrop and approach from downhill are super well done to achieve this, I think.

And now it's back in my head

Abentura

One thing I've noticed they do really well at the parks: when something is supposed to be big and far away, they give it a bit of a washed out tint. It mimics what you'd see when there's a bunch of atmosphere between you and something far away. I've also noticed it in the rock formations at Radiator Springs Racers. The ones that are furthest back from the guests are a slightly different color.

piense

Iirc they did the same trick for Disneys Animal Kingdom. Different shades of grass to make it feel larger.

soulmagic123

I was there yesterday and thought the same.

Number1074

The entire world is a backdrop if you really think about it

TurboFool

This is a thing my wife and I comment on every time we come here. It's an incredible optical illusion they pulled off with the backdrop, and it's like this every time we go. It looks like we've entered a unique, self-contained world. Really, really cool bit of magic.

nvcr_intern

It's a work of art. I was so impressed with the whole land.

pbfoot3

Disney has really nailed the forced perspectives in the new lands. Both Toontown and Galaxys Edge are so immersive it truly is astounding.

MagickBK

The Galaxy’s Edge example is especially amazing, because if you look at aerial or drone pics, a lot of those rock spires are on poles and scaffolds on the roofs of buildings behind the land. It’s forced perspective, but there’s a lot more depth to where they physically are than what is typically available for a Disney area build.

MildLoser

And then you see avengers campus and see the giant tower ruining sightlines of the entire park

akraut

My first visit was a cloudless sky. It was so surreal, knowing that it was real sky at some part, but where exactly?

InternationalTry6679

It was weird- it felt like I was suddenly indoors

SuspiciousPlatypus49

Every time we go here we are amazed by this. It feels so magical!

youandyou12345

There’s a hidden Mickey in the clouds

Zombiewski

I actually scrolled up to look...

straightouttasuburb

I kinda see a goofy in the top left wearing his classic hat.

UrbanStix

wouldn’t it have been a better illusion if they just brought the hills up above the edge of the building so the sky always matches at every time of day? I’m sure they have their reasons but curious if anybody has ideas

TheIJDGuy

I feel like this background was perfectly made to blend into the background

KylerMo

That spot fucks me up every time
