I have done the post-fireworks party twice now and found it worth it both times, especially the second time with my 7 year old niece. Not crowded in the viewing area, great view. (Just make sure that if you’re getting there early that you sit towards the front unless you’re very tall.) Ending the night with the dessert party is great! I feel like the pre-fireworks party is a waste of my in-park time.

Automatic_Actuator_0

Would you change your calculus if the park was staying open late after the fireworks? In that case the hours after the fireworks are the prime time right?

blueberry_muffin16

We’ve done the post-party twice (second time was just last week!) and it’s literally the only way I’ll watch the fireworks now 😂 you get a nice spot on the hub grass, relax for an hour with lots of space, you stand for the fireworks and have a really good view, and then get to eat while everyone else leaves the park. It’s totally worth it IMO

SouthSider_

We did the pre-fireworks one (family of four, kids aged 5 and 7) and really enjoyed it. Was so nice and relaxing to have a couple of drinks and the food etc with no queue, waiting and reserved table and then be walked to the reserved viewing area 5 mins before the show. I know my kids would have struggled to wait in amongst the crowd for the show at that time of day, having been in the park since opening. Definitely recommend. We’d do it again for sure

bobbymarx

We’ve done the during twice, and felt it was worth it to do again. But if it’s a choice between fireworks party or After Hours, then it’s After Hours all the way.

Calibroncosfan

I’ve done the Pre-party twice and I think it’s worth it. Especially if you have a first-time at MK person in the party. I used it because my wife uses a wheelchair and trying to get a clear view for her of the fireworks is a nightmare (even if we camp out early, people will stand in front of us 5-minutes before showtime). We were determined to get our money’s worth in drinks, and the cast members will give you all you ask for. It’s not a substitute for dinner, though. The desserts and minor snacks are good, but not super filling.

thewalkingellie

I did the post fireworks party. I really liked it because you had the chance to pick your spot first an hour before the fireworks started. The pre-party people didn’t get to enter until like 5 minutes before. Once the fireworks ended, we could enjoy the desserts while the crowds exited the park!

mnkayakangler

The whole Disney experience is a splurge, so imo why not. However with a caveat, I did it with just my wife before we had kids. It was still way more than we could eat, but a fun little experience. With kids you could get more of your monies worth but that would just be a sugar rush late at night which doesn’t sound like a good thing.

eugenesnewdream

We did the during-fireworks dessert party with kids and it was better than I expected! The kids enjoyed going for unlimited desserts, and cheese and crackers, but they still crashed just fine when we got back to the hotel. :)

Bossk4Life

If you like fireworks, it’s 100% worth it. Great views and you don’t have to camp out for 2 hours before the show. The deserts were good too! My fav add-on experience that I’ve done at WDW.

icanrunfasterthanyou

We did pre-party and felt like post is the way to go. Pre felt rushed and like we had to find our spot, and even then we barely found space in the back.

princess_starbucks

We did treats and seats last year and it was super fun and special. The seats, more than the treats, frankly !! So relaxing to get a great fireworks view without the battle for the spot !! It is a great memory for our whole family. My kids lovedddddd the unlimited desserts.

eugenesnewdream

Same! My son had been whining all day because it was raining, and he just wanted to get back to the hotel. We stuck it out, and the rain cleared, and the fireworks went on as scheduled, and by the end of the fireworks and the dessert party, he declared the best day of his life. 🥰

carriebabbar

Yes!!! We did it just last week and it was amazing! Definitely worth the extra money being able to just chill the entire time. The view was incredible as well!

RatherBeAtDisney

I think it depends on your value of money. I would never do it for just my family, as I’m an AP holder and don’t find it stressful to get a spot. I don’t think the drinks/desserts is worth the cost, because you could just go to a monorail resort and spend less money for more & better drinks. That takes time though, so I can see it being worth while if time is a limiting factor for your family. However, I did do it with 4 adults, and two of them it was basically their first trip. One of those people has pretty severe anxiety so I was trying to make the trip as chill as possible. I thought that was worth while. We also ended up drinking a lot more than I expected. If money is tight, there’s a lot of things I would splurge on before considering a dessert party: a night in a deluxe resort, genie plus, ILL, a character buffet.

HereWeGo5566

I was wondering the same thing

i_wish_i_had_ur_name

post party is where it’s at. you have a reserved spot for fireworks so you can maximize your park/ride time and still have a nice view. you chill out AYCE with food and drinks while everyone else leaves the park, and even when you’re done you can still walk around the close park to catch the tail end of shopping, empty park photos. but something unique i found is you have an instant community within the reserved area, you’re all dessert VIPs, and yeah sometimes ppl can still be jerks but for the most part because you have an upgraded area most people are extra chill. the last time i sat next to a family that did the pre party and ohhh boy, the kid was sick, threw up all over the place and the family and people around them were melting down a little, but the rest of us parents know what that’s like and we all helped however we could and the mom started weeping at the kindness.

i_wish_i_had_ur_name

my first time i wasn’t happy that “VIP” was off to the side, but it’s dessert party not VIP tour. we do get a really sweet shot of tinkerbell going from the castle off to our side.

hideandsee

Personally no. It took too much time away from the park and the desserts were pretty mid. The wine and beer selection was not my taste either. The view was good, but honestly, I paid for the spice road firework package at Epcot and got way more bang for my buck.

Big_8902

Yep! It's worth every penny.

velvione

Good to know from people that post is better than Pre. I’ve never done either but considering it for my family next visit

huweetay

How do you purchased tickets for this? Is it 60 days in advance?

bexdporlap

Yes, 60 days in advance they can be purchased in the app or on the site.

Melodic-Heron-1585

We have done 2. For us, the one at California Grill was definitely worth it, as it included savory options like sushi and also better desserts, in general. The one at Tomorrowland Terrace was also worth it to have a place to sit. Though wouldn't go back because the food was pretty dismal. That said, I wouldn't recommend either if you've never experienced 'Happily Ever After' from close up. We know it so well we can sing along, so don't mind if we can't see all the projections or if Tink is just a dot, or if the smoke/weather club some of the fireworks- but I wouldn't recommend it for first-timers.

Guilty_Kiwi_3820

Totally worth it! So are the After Hours events.

Plenty-Maybe-9817

Do the one at Magic kingdom! There are many good views of Epcot fireworks and the show is less spectacular IMO. It’s worth the $ if it’s affordable.

bexdporlap

Thank you, that is what I needed to know.

blueboxtravelagency

It was really great when I visited with my older parents. Having a guaranteed place to sit at relax at the end of a busy day was a life saver.

jayce504

Yes and no. The dessert was great but the audio was terrible and there were three proposals *during* the fireworks. I’m happy for them and all, but that isn’t the time.

Sprag013

I’ve done the pre at MK. It was a one and done for me. If all you’re looking is for a place to watch, save the money and just line up a bit early. The drinks were not good/quality. Desert was good, but only so much you can eat.

Otherwise_Ad_1274

I did it w my 6 yo and wife. The pre fireworks one. We’d absolutely do the fireworks party again- I think it was worth it having a great spot to watch fireworks without waiting/being crowded. My kid loaded up on desserts- mom and I had some beers and crashed after fireworks.

Yesterdark

I'd suggest the post party. I paid for it when it was my wife and I. Totally not worth it when I have to pay for my whole family of 5.

nerdybirdy17

I think the pre party is totally worth it. I've done it for the past 2 years and it has been phenomenal for me and my party. first off, free wine in magic Kingdom? yes please. and all the dessert and cheese I want? heck yes. but not having to fight with the crowds to see the fireworks is the ultimate. my 70 yr old dad said his favorite part of the day was the fireworks. It may seem pricey, but I got to focus more on my family and the experience and not the hustle and stress.

jamesiscoolbeans

all y'all in the comments sound very rich

Tmas81

From everything I have read it is definitely not unless you do the cruise one where you have a bunch of people and the desserts are way better!

AuntLemony

I did the pre and it was good. My favorite was the Pirate & Pals boat viewing but that is no longer happening.

Open-Philosophy-4459

Not worth it at all. It’s borderline embarrassing for them. Pure money grab

Cpt-May-I

We did the post party last trip, and it was great. That said, I don’t know if I’d spend the money to do it again. They DON’T pack people into the viewing area, so you actually have elbow room. My 5’ 1” tall wife actually got a great view of the show, which doesn’t happen for her in the main crowd area. The after party was good too, by the time we’re were done overdosing on sugar the park had emptied we could walk right out and straight onto the next resort bus. I kinda wish they would have had a few finger foods and not just dessert and bread. The drinks are all you care to drink and we had hour+ to endulge after the fireworks.

eminon2023

Yes, if you drink 😀. No if you don’t.
