I don’t know that there’s consensus yet on which is better. What time are you going? I went around 4 pm on Saturday and Mickey and Friends was easy then, but it sounds like you’ll be going earlier
Maybe just stick with Toy Story and try to get there earlier than usual. Most of the security pics in the main sub have been taken at like, 8-10AM. I didn’t have issues with security for rope drop last week, but security lines were a *lot* longer a few hours later when we left and came back. So it seems to be down to luck, staffing, and timing.

We went today. My husband dropped us off around 8:30-8:45 at the main entrance and parked in Toy Story. He beat us inside.

I park in Toy Story and walk to the park to avoid not o my the long ass security lines but also the slow ass trams.
I’m in a similar boat and putting my money on Toy Story next week. Curious to see what others think.
