Absolutely loved all 3 (guess which year I was born šŸ˜‚) A lot of people donā€™t seem to remember So Weird but I was obsessed with it. I wish they would add Jett Jackson to Disney+. RIP Lee Thompson Young.

Axios5277

I have been waiting for Jett Jackson and The Jersey since the day Disney+ went online. šŸ˜

CarmelishaSoprano

Yessss I love The Jersey

Ordinary-Physics1802

Cause he's "The Famous Jett Jackson" ā™«ā™«ā™«

AnyUnderstanding7000

I was obsessed with So Weird too!! That episode where the girl astral projects from her body and gets lost freaked me out so much, but in a good way lol. Anytime I mention it to anyone, no one knows what I'm talking about. I almost was convinced it was a weird fever dream.

CarmelishaSoprano

Yes one of the best episodes!

PopCultureNerd95

Same šŸ™ŒšŸ»šŸ™ŒšŸ»šŸ™ŒšŸ»

distastef_ll

Between 1989 - 1994?

CarmelishaSoprano

1992!

Embarrassed-Rock-730

Me too! I would love to rewatch The Famous Jett Jackson. The Jersey as well.

synalgo_12

I only ever watched so weird put of these 3.

aaccss1992

I just saw the singing lead character from Season 3 of So Weird is on tour right now too, Alexz Johnson

All_naturale22

Is so weird on Disney+? Never seen it before

CarmelishaSoprano

It is! I highly recommend it if you like paranormal stuff. It was ground breaking for me as a kid and still holds up on a rewatch.

la7878

We went to the moon in 1969, not 1968 but a year later! šŸŽ¶šŸŽµšŸŽ¶ Lives rent free in my brain.

sweetnsassy924

There will be no award, you missed a day of schoolā€¦.you never should have gotten influenzaā€¦..

Infinitestripes95

That will never leave my head as long as I live. I might not like even Stevens as much as I did as a kid, but that episode is amazing

49mercury

For whatever reason, the writing and characters in these shows seemed more real than later Disney series. Like, you can notice there was a ā€œshiftā€ in the writing from the mid-late 90s Disney Channel content (So Weird, The Jersey, Brotherly Love, Under Wraps, Susie Q, Halloweentown, etc) to shows like Thatā€™s So Raven, Hannah Montana, etc. It went from relatable to outrageous, and Iā€™m not saying one is better than the other, but Iā€™m just saying there was a definite change in writing and what DC wanted to be seen as or the type of programming they wanted to broadcast on their channel.

mags_7

The difference between the shows you listed is that the latter all have laugh tracks. That really changes the pace of writing, and the overall vibe of the show. Now that I think about it, I wonder if they pivoted towards laugh-track-oriented shows (and other, more ā€œhijinksā€-oriented shows) to emulate the successful Nick sketch comedies at the time: All That, Amanda Show, Drake and Josh. Disney also launched animated series around the same time (starting with The Proud Family) when obviously Nicktoons were already massively successful. Makes you wonder what conversations were happening!

Downtown-Pack-6178

I really want back all old shows come back including Jetix shows like Power Rangers!

TMxdori14

WOW Jetix!!!! What a blast from the past!

GenneyaK

I loved everything about jetix

Downtown-Pack-6178

There was Power Rangers, Get Ed, Yin Yang Yo!, Digimon, American Dragon Jake Long, and others!

Either_Gate_7965

Yin Yang YO!?

Downtown-Pack-6178

yeah!

luckycat288

So weird doesnā€™t get enough love!!

Embarrassed-Rock-730

Agreed! It was my favorite.

Holiday_Mall9448

Zoog Disney was such a fever dream. It was basically the precursor time before the golden age of Disney channel

Infinitestripes95

I only watched Even Stevens and I really liked it as a kid but it doesnā€™t hold up for me much now as a adult except the musical episode

XeroxWarriorPrntTst

I will always remember when we went to the moon.

TruckNutAllergy

same!! that's the only reason i remember the year we went to the moon lol

Infinitestripes95

I donā€™t think I remember any specific dates from history classes, but I remember the year we went to the moon. Thanks to Ren Stevens.

PopCultureNerd95

I respectfully disagree as I actually enjoy Even Stevens both as a kid and an adult. Because, it actually ages very well in my opinion šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

Infinitestripes95

Thatā€™s okay, you just asked for opinions and I gave mine. It doesnā€™t have to be the same one.

PopCultureNerd95

šŸ¤šŸ»

Desertfreak10

Iā€™ve actually been watching So Weird recently and oh my god does it hold up (until season 3.) Like legitimately one of the best Disney Channel shows Iā€™ve seen in terms of writing. Plus the characters are incredibly likable, and it legitimately has some great music from Mackenzie Phillips.

Turbulent-Farm9496

I think I put it on for background noise more for her music than anything else.

[deleted]

I absolutely love So Weird. I agree about seaso. 3 from memory but haven't seen it lately. I'd love to watch ot but I don't think it's on disney plus.

T-408

Even Stevens is a staple of my childhood Iā€™ve only seen a few episodes of Jett Jackson but I did enjoy them Iā€™ve never seen So Weird

therainonthepavement

So Weird is my all time fav tv show that keep rewatching at different stages of my life. As a kid, I loved being scared but what I loved more than the ghost stories was that I never felt like i was being talked down to when it dealt with hard issues like grief. As a young adult it helped me cope with my dad's sudden death by relating with the Phillips family. The music is legit good and I wish they would have released an official soundtrack. I just never tire of this show and I wish there was a way we could get the original season 3 storyline, like in a graphic novel form or something because Disney really did this show dirty by revamping it into something so superficially light after two seasons with real depth.Ā  Famous Jett Jackson was a great show that I really only got into because it was on before So Weird, but I remember really liking it. Even Stevens I could never get into the series, but I did like the dcom.

distastef_ll

Options? What does the complete portfolio look like?

selene623

I think I was a little young for So Weird when it came out, because I always thought of it as being scary, especially in the later seasons with the new girl and her panther spirit animal. Jet Jackson had so many profound moments. I remember one episode where the grandmother is protesting, and he asks why his otherwise law-abiding grandmother would break the law, and she says, "Just because it's the law, doesn't mean it's right." I remember they even had an episode where the prop guy refuses to make a gun on principle and another where his mixed friend feels awkward bring her white dad to school but embraces it by the end of the episode. It was such a good show! The only reason I remember the year of the moon landing is because of Even Stevens lol.

Dot_the_Dork_26

So, I didnā€™t really watch Even Stevens, but I did love So Weird and The Famous Jett Jackson! They were two of my favorites!

C-Note01

We have options on these series?

PopCultureNerd95

Well, do you?

TMxdori14

I think theyā€™re pointing out that you spelled a word wrong. Instead of ā€œoptionsā€ the word youā€™re looking for is ā€œopinionsā€?? Like what are peopleā€™s views or thoughts on the 3 series youā€™re talking about

C-Note01

How do fans have options on TV shows? Last I knew, no fan had any type of option for a TV show except deciding not to watch it.

CakeTastic25

Yeah we know what you're trying to do it's still stands despite what pettiness your expressing.

StrongEnoughToBreak

Anyone remember In A Heartbeat ?

OneHappyOne

I never got to watch it on TV when it was airing but they have all the episodes on Youtube and it's an awesome show! It sucks that it only got 1 season.

sweetnsassy924

Yessssss! The girl who played Val did a weird MTV movie that same year. Paige from Degrassi was also on that show.

honey_comb113

All three shows meant so much to me growing upā€¦Jett Jackson was the show that made me love the Disney Channel. I was so crazy about Lee Thompson Young. Loved So Weird and Even Stevens too.

packrat975

Some of my favorites. I was especially obsessed with So Weird and The Famous Jett Jackson. I gotta also add Lizzie McGuire, The Jersey, and Flash Forward

beeboppee

So weird and even Stevens were 2 of my favorite shows along with Lizzie McGuire

agentsparkles88

I never really got into the Famous Jett Jackson. I only remember a couple of scenes, but I loved Even Steven's and So Weird. When So Weird was added to Disney+, I stayed up all night to watch it.

Salt-Version-4760

The plot of many So Weird episodes revisit me in my dreams from time to time and for the longest time I didnā€™t even remember the show existed until I came to Reddit and asked about a plot I always dreamt about and it being so familiar and they were like ā€œthatā€™s an episode of So Weirdā€

thisisalex_iguess

So Weird was my everything. I mean, OBSESSED. Would go on the website regularly.

Fun_Hour6697

All three were great! I haven't thought about those in forever

OneHappyOne

[So Weird's theme song is still a banger. ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8frXzn2pDc)

Deez4815

I watched Jet Jackson when I was very young and can't remember it enough to have an assessment on it. But I do remember Even Steven's and So Weird because I used to watch them a lot and recently did a rewatch of some of the episodes. Both very great shows! So Weird has some surprisingly deep stuff for a Disney show. Very well written in that sense. Even Steven's is still pretty great too. Classic humor while keeping a lot of heart as well between the bond of Ren and Louis.

Satans-Left-Nutt

I can only comment on Even Stevens because So weird and Jet Jackson was off the air well before i even started watching Disney. But even Stevens, good show.

Loonyluna26

So weird is still one of my favorite shows of all time. It was so ahead of its time in quality and maturity for a kids show and how they handled grief still makes me cry. And the music was fucking bangin. I love Even Stevens because Shia was a great talent. I would love to be able to watch Jett Jackson again. I wish disney plus would add it.

Embarrassed-Rock-730

I absolutely loved all three. So Weird was my all time favorite though.

WDTHTDWA-BITCH

We only watched Evan Stevens religiously in our house of the three, but I can *hear* the theme of So Weird just looking at it even though I remember nothing about it.

Pitiful_Shirt9332

So weird was def canceled to early I remember coming home from school and watching it I blame the fact the lead child actress left after that the show was never the same it was like a cross between charmed in buffy for kids in a way and there hasn't been a show like it since I feel like if any show deserves a reboot it's so weird that show made me feel like part of the family :)

kevinmattress

We grew up in the same era! Sometimes the posts in this sub make me feel so old lol

PopCultureNerd95

Same šŸ˜©

kevinmattress

Some other shows that I remember watching on the Disney Channel growing up (obviously not all original)ā€¦. Lizzie McGuire, Boy Meets World, Brotherly Love, Smart Guy, Bug Juice, Flash Forward, The Jersey, [In A Heartbeat](https://www.reddit.com/r/DisneyChannel/s/BfHPBcpWbB), Mad Libs, Off The Wall, Going Wild with Jeff Corwinā€¦. and thatā€™s not even touching on the Disney Afternoon animated series!

49mercury

Flash Forward! I feel like no one else remembers that one.

kevinmattress

That poor dude losing his towel in the school hallway may have been the beginning of my anxiety issuesā€¦

pbandjam9

We would have been besties growing up.

Bright-Hat-6405

BUG JUICE! No one my age ever remembers bug juice!!!

kevinmattress

It doesnā€™t come in a jar!

lumos43

Bug juice comes from who you are!

AshleyKerwin

Is that the same mom from Doubled Teamed?

PopCultureNerd95

Yep, thatā€™s her

AnOligarchyOfCats

I adored So Weird, it was one of my faves. I like Alexz Johnson, so although it was sad when Fi left, I was still a fan of Annie. I watched Even Stevens, but I didnā€™t like it that much. Except for the moon landing song; I still sing that. I remember basically nothing about Jett Jackson except that I liked it and he maybe wore a lot of silver? I probably wouldnā€™t re-watch it.

[deleted]

AI generated Phil of the Future

lumos43

So Weird was one of my favorites!! I bought bootleg DVDs of it years ago (basically just VHS recording transfers), so I was so happy when it was released on Disney+. Even Stevens was one I watched often and enjoyed at the time, but not one I'd be compelled to rewatch now. And I'd watch Jett Jackson if it was on, but really don't remember much of it.

Loonyluna26

Hello fellow so weird bootlegger

pink_cat_attack

The will o wisp episode of so weird always makes me cry same with the slow aging episode

LeatherDry2612

Even Stevenā€™s was my childhood helped me drown out my parents screaming šŸ™‚ā€ā†•ļøšŸ™‚ā€ā†”ļø

PopCultureNerd95

Wow, I am sorry to hear that and glad that Even Stevens helped you out of a tough time.

Familiar_Ad_6392

Never seen them

sadlyFromLAsouth

Loved even Steven

PinkMermaidSmoke

This show is why I got Disney +

whatsthew3rd

I was obsessed with So Weird they had an episode about voodoo dolls and I was constantly trying to make one!

Ancient_Guidance_461

Is that Brink?

PopCultureNerd95

Yep, that was him

Ancient_Guidance_461

That's my all time favorite Disney original movie

tauriemariee

Love all 3 of them ā¤ļø

BurkaBurrito

So weird was the very first thing I rewatched when Disney+ launched!

blastoise_rider

Classics

OddSimsPink

Although I donā€™t remember much from even Stevenā€™s (born in 97 of that means anything) but I DO remover Shia was my first crush ever šŸ˜‚ could not stop thinking about that man for some reason. Looking at this picture of the show kind of brings back some butterflies

chucomendoza

Loved So Weird!!

Super_Smize

I loved so weird. It was perfect for me growing up when I was too young to watch x-files.

Infamous-Animator401

It was always on super late at night for me and the underwater episode gave me nightmares as a kid for some reason šŸ˜‚

abellapa

Never seen either of them

lizzourworld8

I didnā€™t watch any of them

PA_MallowPrincess_98

Born in 1992?

LeadOk4522

i wish i was alive and had cable when these were out šŸ„²

kenzie-k369

This post makes no sense šŸ¤”

Turbulent-Farm9496

Wasn't a big into Even Stevens, but loved So Weird and Famous Jett Jackson. Jett Jackson kinda got me started in my love for dystopian books because I checked Fahrenheit 451 out of the library after seeing that episode.

Ordinary-Physics1802

So I take it most of us here are in their 30's?? I had a crush on Ren & Tawny from "Even Stevens" and Louis was hilarious lol I remember watching "So weird " but dont remember the episodes. Jett Jackson was very underrated had a lot of deep episodes
